In the manga, Shouko moves out to pursue her passion of becoming a hairstylist (she was inspired by MC's mom back when she was a kid which was shown in a special chapter in the manga) while MC stays to continue his family business. Years later, it shows that they are going to attend their elementary reunion. They hold hands before opening the door to the venue indicating they might have advanced their relationship.

Thank you for watching this with us, I'd been putting off watching it cause I knew it would be heart-breaking, my sister and I were bullied a lot for our disabilities growing up a lot. But watching it with you and the community helped me get through it and I'm glad I did, even if I'm still thinking about it now.

A Silent Voice I hold as my favorite anime movie. There might be others that have better visuals, more fantastical stories, and better action. But this movie just has the most impact on me than honestly any other movie. It's pretty much the only movie that actually makes me tear up, especially the rooftop scene. Watching a broken, bullied girl break down on his mom and feeling despair over him being hurt because of her and seeing the mom initially struggle to want to comfort her because her son almost died. It really hits hard.

A Silent Voice is certainly a great first anime movie. Mine was Princess Mononoke back in '97.

This movie is so amazing and tears me up every single time I watch it. If you are interested in other emotional anime movies I would recommend "Let me eat your pancreas" and "Your name".

Sad I missed this stream, it's always something magical seeing a series go from a 'one shot' into something as amazing as this movie was & it's manga serialization was. The studio that worked on the movie for it, Kyoto Animation, is an amazing studio that often work on some pretty emotional series, often revolving around romantic themes be it friendship or otherwise. Such a great and impactful movie, the manga was well adapted but does give more motivation behind certain characters like Shoko's mum and the teacher. One bit of knowledge I gained whilst making a lego build of the bridge is that in the real world the hospital used for reference practically overlooks that bridge so him getting there at 21:33 is realistic timewise - not sure how he got out of the hospital though?

This movie is still to this day to my favourite. It's an amazing product despite leaving a lot out from the manga, which has given a lot of characterization and backstory to its cast, including with Shoko's mother and Mashiba

The manga is good as well, but the movie just packs so much more to convey the feelings. The suicide scene is brutal. The music speeding up, the animation slowing down, the flames raining in front of her... This is so much stronger than titanic T.T

This was the anime movie that got me into anime, I followed it up with Your Name (Both released in 2016 but I watched I think in 2017) and then I started moving into more... Tear jerky anime series like Made in Abyss, Your Lie in April and Violet Evergarden. Apparently I just really like tear jerkers.

I love this movie so much, it's my favourite movie of all time. There's just something special about A Silenz Voice, it makes you feel emotions that very few other movies/series can. I wish it was even longer though because I know they had to cut out some parts of the story, which is a damn shame.

The movie makes it a lot more of a platonic relationship. The manga is not romantic by any means but there is much more of a feeling of romantic love and understanding in the final two chapters (including the epilogue) If you're looking for a short anime film I would recommend The Garden of Words by Makoto Shinkai, which is turning 10 years old this year but is still a visual feast

To this day I'm still certain I hear a heart beating in that last scene, within the music, and it stops when the music does. I don't think he ever woke up, personally. I think we're meant to have both options of interpretation, and I don't think he survived, the dream before waking up and finding her was a little too convenient, so was the resolution, I think it ended a little too happy, like his brains final hurrah. Obviously yes both options are possible, that's probably the point, I think most believe the obvious ending, but I can't help see the other option as more likely, this movie was a little too real always, and it'd make sense for that to be a possible ending, if not the real ending. Idk. It might be because I still related a little too hard to some of the thinking in this movie when I first saw it, but I believe the darker ending. Tho now time is passed I think I believe both endings, like Schrödinger's cat, I think both endings are real because neither were confirmed

one a movie everyone must see once. love it, hate it or meh it does need to been seen. two can you believe this wasnt up for animated movie of the year? the one that won that year was Coco. it won cause they said it was deep and had more emotion than what they have seen before. like really? Coco was good but this is on another level and it didnt get 1 nomination. hollywood has a real issue and they are so slow to change. and for any other argument the world knew of this movie. the debate was what is the better film, your name or a silent voice (to me they are in different categories so its a mute point) so there is no reason they didnt know about this movie.

Definitively, one of the best anime movies ever (at least the best anime movie of 2010s in my opinion). Unfortunately, it did not get the attention it deserved. If I became a teacher I would show that movie in class and do projects with the mange because the themes this franchise are attacking are relevant.

So she felt sick of her self existence for her lit sister her mom her family her self n the prota, if she's not exist there's no incident all of that. . N she felt so guilty about the prota life, that's why she try for suicide. . The pink hair is kind pure girl when she know stuff of the prota incidents of the past he got trauma n stuff so even she's not the vault one, she still got guilty sympathy emphaty n stuff like that, bcs she's the kind soul girl . Instead the prota had the same feeling bcs the past,n regret it n wanna to be a better human n felt sorry to the pink hair girl . The pink hair girl felt that kindness feels from the guy n she alrd forgive the prota guy. So when she know the friends of the prota guy who alrd fix again n then broken again shel felt the guilty, n blame to her self existence, if there's no me in this life he's not get this trouble with his friends n not getting traumatic life . That's why she try to suicide . This feelings got higher n higher to do the real suicide action bcs the prota guy's slowly changing, he's not to be like shouta what she knows n she knows, it's bcs the impact from the incident when his friends fell apart again. if you want a good anime movie, probably one of the best rated movies is 'Your Name.'.

I will never come to understand Nishimiya or Ishida. They were completely outside of what I am. I have never been faced with bullying ... Partially because I got a good set of friends early (I am not sure if I'm a good friend but I had some good friends). And so, it is really really hard to relate to Ishida or Nishimiya or anyone in this movie. But even though I can't understand why they would do it or what they were thinking when they decided to just end their lives... I can feel it. I can feel that there has to be many people who feel like this in the reality. I don't know the exact reasoning and I can't feel that their reasons were strong but at the same time, I know depression doesn't work with reasoning. And I know that someone who hasn't faced such a place in their life like me can never understand it. And I know that it is real... And that's why I always feel emotional watching it.

This film is, in a way, hard to replicate outside of the animation medium. Idt there is a movie really parallel to this. And it's mainly because of the fact that the movie is oriented around a bunch of kids in the first half. To find actors who can do this level of quality acting is hard in itself, but the themes are kinda dark too so it also brings the question of the morality of having kids in a movie like this. It's possible, but too much work and risk involved. These limitations in action is not there in the animation medium.

Love this film, to pieces! Hugs because it's a rough one for people, I hope you received trigger warnings before watching it because I know most people don't, unfortunately. One of the other channels I watch; reacted to it after receiving no trigger warnings. They had an even rougher time watching it because they were not mentally prepared for the film. My only suggestion is next time, when watching stuff on stream, I would do emote only in chat. Some of the people were annoying as heck, saying things before they happened. And spoiling other animes as well. Asking when it was going to be over, etc. I'm glad you didn't pay attention to it much, but it was all I could focus on.
