Okay, so... Gonna try my best to explain how combat works. Honestly, I think Larion didn't handhold enough to players who've never played D&D before so the confusion is understandable. Hopefully I make sense. In a turn, you have an action, bonus action, movement, and reaction. Movement. As you have noticed so far, you can only move a certain amount. I believe it's just a bit over 9 meters? Check your hotbar in the bottom. Those basically are the things you can do. Whether it be stuff like Jumping, Certain attacks you can make, spells you can cast, and the like. Each icon/box will state what they can do and what it uses (action or bonus action.) I suggest reading these off-cam maybe. Hiding takes an action (hiding in someone's line of sight requires a Stealth Roll- although this roll is typically really just written down in the upper left corner of the screen and wont be like the ones wherein a roll happens in the center of the screen). Most attacks (some of those boxes are attacks) will probably take an action. For example, after approaching, you can make a melee weapon attack as an action. Or maybe you don't bother approaching and just make a ranged weapon attack as an action. Helping a downed/unconscious ally get up takes an action. MOST spells take an action. Certain class abilities are also an action. Astarion's class (rogue) for example, has a special action called "Sneak attack (melee)" and "Sneak attack(ranged)". The former allows him to make an attack with the melee weapon he has equipped and this attack deals extra damage. The latter allows him to make a ranged attack with a ranged weapon he has equipped and this attack deals extra damage. Except thing is, Sneak attack has a prerequisite. It states "You have advantage, or another Enemy of the target is within 1.5 m of it."- which means, an enemy of the target of your sneak attack (an example of an enemy of Astarion's target... Is you or one of your other companions). Jumping is a bonus action. Dipping your weapon in something (for example, dipping your sword in flames) is a bonus action. And certain class abilities take a bonus action. Now let's talk spells. There's different levels of spells. Cantrips (0th level) 1st Levelled Spells 2nd Levelled Spells and so on and so forth all the way to 6th levelled spells (for Baldur's Gate 3). For your current level, your character has access to 1st levelled spells and has Now let's talk about spellslots (see those boxes with a roman numeral on top? Those are spellslots). Basically, to cast a 1st levelled spell, a character uses the needed action to cast that spell (for example a certain spell takes an action to cast it) and expends a 1st levelled spell slot. You only get a limited number of these spell slots and you regain them only after you take a longrest. To cast a 2nd level spell, a character uses the needed action/bonus action. Then uses up a 2nd levelled spellslot. You only get a certain number of spellslots for each level. For example right now, both you and Shadowheart only have two 1st levelled spellslots. The blue boxes show how many available spellslots you have. I tried my best, but I know I was not able to cover everything in this comment. And from what I remember they also the most wise among metal based ones. I pretty sure any metal based dragon can shape shift. The difference is that golden dragons are very wise and open minded. Although it's most likely the golden Dragon seduces you than other way around 😆. P. S In all honesty the best way to seduce a golden dragon is to start a philosophical debate about society leading into ethical means on whenever he should or shouldn't sleep with you. I am not even kidding.

@@durema9720 Red dragons can shapeshift too. I remember Lord Jierdan Firkraag from Baldur´s Gate 2, who shifted into humanoid form to recruit adventurers to fight for his fun.

The ones the Githyanki ride are adolescents or young adults, judging by the size, and are absolutely their riders' intellectual equals.

@@AGirlAndAGame Larian honestly outdid themselves with this - I feel like most developers would look at some of the spells in D&D like Speak With Dead, Detect Thoughts, and Speak With Plants And Animals and go "nope, too much work, let's cut it" while Larian embraced them and put the effort in to make them viable ingame (if you're smart about using them, of course!)

A staff can conceivably be useful, if you are forced into melee combat and have no melee range spells - and no way to distance yourself from your attacker (you get a disadvantage on ranged attacks in melee combat), the Topple attack can also be useful to knock your enemy down so another character can get an advantage against them on their next attack. Besides that, weapons for spellcasters are useful only when they provide some passive bonus or special ability. For spellcasters in general, weapons should basically be considered "a last resort" when you have no other options. (Edit:) Also, I'm not sure, but I seem to recall you have a disadvantage on defense in melee combat if you don't wield a weapon - unless you're a Monk or have a certain Feat for unarmed combat?

@@AGirlAndAGame Worth mentioning that Drow are not inherently evil, and there are examples of good-aligned Drow in the lore, but *most* who live in Menzoberranzan and worship the goddess Lolth (like your Guardian) are evil because that's the cultural norm there, enforced by Lolth herself - which also means that those that aren't inclined towards evil tend to either try to escape or else have to play along and act evil to survive.

I mean I did Drow for my main, only to basically be like "please dont attack me i know Im a dark elf but were not all evil slavers. Racist" With every humanoid encounter i have with her lol

@@ria7633magic middle as an evocation wizard goes crazy in the late game when you get to add your intelligence modifier to each individual missile. A 6th level magic missile is like 50-80 guaranteed damage a turn

She eventually lost her mind and turned to Bhaal. She also would bring people back to life just to re-unalive them. She also sounds like the grandma from Dinosaurs.
