My character's backstory:
Jessica Elderwalker, a high elf sorcerer. Born of nobility in the city of Baldur's Gate. The Elderwalkers are known for their draconic bloodline and being a line of powerful sorcerers. Being an only child, Jessica was in a strict household and was expected by her parents to uphold their family name. With the pressures of continuing to bring fame and recognition to her family, Jessica spent her days at court to win the noble's favours.

I'll be making the future episodes longer, just for right now I'm trying to get use to everything to bare with me lol I'll also be mixing this playthrough with livestreams and solely focus on side missions/exploring so be sure to check the playlist in case you miss them and want to watch! Game is designed for you to miss things and not see everything and do things your way. No two playthrough are the same. Just roll with the dice and enjoy the ride.

There are so many options that I kinda wish the game was shorter just because I know I want to do at least three full playthroughs. I've been playing nonstop since launch and I'm still not even close to done. I just entered act 3, which I think is the final act, but idk. My second playthrough I intend to go full villain!

@@seansilence2697 the whole map gives me serious sensory overload, the map is huge and so many things are everywhere, combine that with the open ended nature of the quests, and I'm lost as can be.

I am more of a Gale girl. Edgy boys like Astarion don’t do it for me. But I find myself smiling when talking to both of them. Their voice actors are both sooo good and they are both really charmingly written characters.

I think you misunderstood Shadowheart point about Gale. Yes your character a Sorcerer and he's a Wizard. Difference is you were born with power he learned it and always seeks more. This is why many distrust Wizards most of the time they don't know "the Uncle Ben" rule.

Wizards: gain magical power by years of intense and disciplined study of the arcane. Sorcerers: gain magical power by innate magical ability. Warlocks: gain magical power by forming a pact with a magical entity (usually a demon, or worse) In addition to being distrusted by non magic users, these three groups REALLY don't like each other due to their vastly different approaches. Calling a wizard a sorcerer and especially a warlock would be a SERIOUS insult.

@@sherm2572 many sorcerers are kown to be super reckless because of their wild magic or, if of other ancestries, simply due to their unpredicatble nature. So while a wizard surely can be called a sorcerer as a compliment, it can also imply that they are reckless and not using magic in a smart way (like one of the main wizard dogma while sorceeres are literally go-with-the-flow type pf casters)

When you roll, use the add bonus thingy at the bottom, shadowheart has a free cantrip that helps you during those dialogue options :) There are no downside to using it

I don't know how quickly you improve in this series (just found it right now), but watching these early episodes it is VERY funny seeing you do stuff like ending your turn right after moving without knowing you still had your action/bonus action. I'm glad you picked Explorer mode, 'cause then you were still able to survive in this game for long enough to learn how it's actually done. I also can't help but understand you too, since if I hadn't come from the TTRPG I'd also be completely lost asking myself "wait, what the hell is a bonus action?"

i came straight from dnd and balanced was still a nightmare, this game is just difficult. But watching her jump or move without attacking is both infuriating and funny.

At the 28:30+ ish mark, Volo is basically the Forgotten Realms version of Marko Polo, but a more incompetent comedy relief kind. He's the Realms screw-up in the way that Booster Gold is DCs super-hero screw-up.

In DnD turns there is usually an action, bonus action, and movement, so try to see if you've used everything.

I'm happy BG3 is getting this kind of reaction. It's daunting for sure especially if you don't normally play games like this, but I'm happy they're getting praise. We need more games like this and less games that are either incomplete/full of mirotransactions

This game is doing AMAZINGLY well. Top sold game on Steam, 750k concurrent players at its peak. Current estimate show AT LEAST 5 million copies sold, and this with only the PC version currently out. I'm so happy for Larian.

You’re an absolute joy to watch. I know you’ve seen this from so many other comments but (and I know it’s hard) don’t overthink things. It is absolutely impossible if find and see everything in one play-through and the game is designed to get you to the end HOWEVER you end up playing it. Enjoy every second! Can’t wait to see more from this play-through!

Don't forget to loot all those dead goblins. Then sell the junk and equip the stuff you can use. Be careful what you do. I once did something and ended up killing the whole grove.

You're probably more familiar with DnD than you think. Dragon Age Origins was Bioware making a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, but in their own world for more creative freedom. It was very much based on DnD mechanics. Similarly, Mass Effect was also Bioware wanting to do a version of KOTOR with the creative freedom of their own world outside of Star Wars.

Dragon Age and DnD are nothing alike, the systems are vastly different, spells have cooldowns and a mana cost, DnD use charges and no cooldowns. Gameplaywise they require different approachs.

Idk if anyone has said it, but Mage Armor actually does you no good. Because you are a dragon sorcerer your base AC is already 13. Which is what Mage Armor does

im saying this in the nicest way possible, i only scream at people like this who are friends and people i like... BUT YOU'RE A GOD DAMN MAGE! WHY ARE YOU GETTING CLOSER AND MOVING YOUR FRONT-LINES TO THE BACK!!!!! ugh, had to get it out. don't worry, DnD takes a minute and the moment you realize it all you're gonna get it so hard. or never get it but still find the funniest ways to beat enemies that have you question if the people who make this game understand reality

Don't know if its been said but make sure you explore everything you can before leaving the region because once you leave you can't go back, I made this mistake and missed out on alot of content. Another thing make sure to go to the camp regularly (I go to camp after ever quest no matter how big or small.) cant say more about this with out spoilers.

I'm slowly catching up on your playthrough since I want to stay ahead and not get spoiled, but did you figure out that Shadowheart can add a guidance bonus to skill check rolls? You have to click it manually at the bottom of checks every time.

Try to read the tooltips, spells have differents range, area of effect, duration, might require a save or an attack roll or concentration. It might sound complicated at first but understanding what they mean is crucial to really take the most out of combat.

The whole story about the grove druids and the refugees is such a metaphor for the mistreatment of immigrants in developed nations. In the case of America, often those immigrants are here because we screwed up their countries. It keeps messing me up that they spell the name Silvanus differently than World of Warcraft (I loved playing night elf characters).
