Exactly what I was thinking the whole time. Once you’ve mastered the slip, crosswinds are just like any other landing. I always prefer the slip because you can bring it all the way to touchdown in the same configuration it feels like a stable approach and you don’t have to kick the rudder and aileron at last second. I feel the crab method has larger room for error. Windveing you don’t feel like your controlling the plane

The approach angle is fine for piston singles. The problem was the approach speed which was obviously too fast (a lot of floating during the flare). When landing at a steep approach angle it's even more critical that the approach speed is precisely controlled.

Remember these side effects. A narrow runway gives the illusion that you’re higher and a wide runway gives the illusion that you’re lower. So technically you were just a little bit high but hey a good landing is one where you crashed the plane but can still walk away and a great landing is where you can walk away and use the plane again.

Landing was to high indeed. You land fine. But if you take a wider downwind of the runway, crosswind leg for taking youre time and you have a better and calmer final leg. More time to see the height. Not only check you're altitude indicator. Feel the VFR-flying.

That's good advice. A wider downwind helps keep me ahead of the airplane on base and final.

Altitude has more potential than the fuel in the tanks at getting you to your destination safely.
