I'm still waiting for Profoto (or a third party!) to produce a better stand adapter. That smooth knob and adjustment increments bug me every single time I use them! Thanks for this video. Just discovered your channel -- looking for reviews for the plus. A B1x and 2x B10 are in my bag; thinking of adding a plus (vs a second B1x ). Oh and love the Kimono!

I really love my softlight beautify dish with 25 grid, which heavy and is great for b1x but will b10 plus carry this modifier? Im asking because OSF doesn’t gave that beautiful 25 degree grid

Hepp! I use B10. Super light, but had some bluetooth issues when using phone-app. Seems it’s not possible to combine control trigger shooting whith DSLR while managing settings from phone-app. Seems only one lane comm is possible, thus only phone-photos. Would be nice to have this limitation sorted out though, and use phone as a remote trigger central…😇

Have you seen the knobs that ProMedia Gear sells for the B10 and B10 Plus? It definitely looks like an improvement.

I’ll take the B10 cameras have great dynamic range one stop don’t mean shit today! Plus why shoot at high noon when you can shoot at 3-4pm if it’s pro work! Man I’m so tired of the sales BS but glad a brother getting some paper!

If you were buying 3 lights would you go with 2 x B10 & 1 x B10 Plus or 3 x B10 Plus?

I remember Matthew and Derek (a friend of ours) saying during the test, that it would be best to have two (or more) of the same models since the refresh rate was faster on the B10 than on the B10+, which could lead to problems if you need to shoot at fast intervals. But I will let Matthew answer this himself as he is the Pro here.

good question, I would go the 3 x B10 Plus if the cost wasn't a factor. Why have a mix when you can change the light power ratio to give you the f stop difference, if the f/stop is an issue increase the ISO. I've been thinking along a similar line in that I have a B1 and I'm about to purchase either 2 x B1X's or 2 x B10 Plus. Too many options :-)

Hi Shannon, I would go with 2 of the B10's and one of the B10 Plus strobes. I size of the B10 is very appealing but it would be great to have one Plus unit.

@@spacepigandco Yes, that is correct. For many reasons I would like 2 B10 units then just to have one B10 Plus.

@@MJSPhotography Hi Matthew, Jon here, just curious with the 3 x B10 wouldn't you get the a similar result by setting 1 of the B10 to 1 stop more than the other 2 and if the f/stops is an issue just push the ISO up? Your answer is this based on the 1 stop difference, just asking?

Would anyone know if the Battery life of the B10 Plus would be equal to the B10 when the power dial is set to 9 (250 watts)?

yes its the same battery and everything is the same.

That would be true if the higher capacity capacitors and bulb are equally efficient. Other videos show the recoil rate of the B10 Plus set to 9 takes less than the B10 set to 10. Wish not to be rude but I was seeking a tested answer versus a theoretical guess.

Matthew, Dave Gallagher of Capture Integration ran the test & reports the battery life of B10 Plus at power level 9 (250 watts) is 505 shots vs 450 shots for the B10 at power level 10 (250 watts). Factoring that in plus the flexibility of the added stop of light and the zoom depth really helps justify the price difference.
