Idea….the broken garden mirror, lose the backing and glass keep frame, possibly paint. Attach to a wall, attach a bracket (hanging basket) to front of frame and suspend a lantern or topiary ball - less land fill and another feature ❤

What a cute little 10 year old boy you were, with your 90’s hair style, feeding the pigeons. I love what you’re doing with the rooftop garden. The paint color you used is really pretty and the ivy trellis adds some privacy. The cats are getting so big now! They are such curious cats. I think it is fare to say you no longer have kittens you have cats. Memory is a bit fuzzy but aren't they a year old? Love visiting the roof garden! You always inspire me to do something with my little deck. I hope we will get a chance to see your progress with the scrapbooks! I was intrigued just watching the sort out. :)

Loved this ❤ I especially loved seeing all your photos and momentos, I am very sentimental so I keep things like that too. Remember when they used to allow feeding of pigeons in London 😅 Wow your dreams came true about being on tv 🎉 love to see it! You deserve it. Funny about the work experience I’ve only just realised a very similar thing has happened for me too, before I did my work experience placement I thought I wanted to work in fashion. I was always focused at school so because of how well I did in textiles I was sent to London Fashion Week as a reward but quickly realised it wasn’t for me, something in my gut told me even though I loved designing and making garments, the industry was not it 😂 Soon after I was sent for work experience to a place called Artsline, which was a disability database that listed the accessibility of London’s places to visit, it was the same week as the London bombings so it was very eventful. It was the first time I had tried photography professionally, for their website (having been inspired to try it because of MySpace 😂). Now I’m 33 and I’ve been a photographer ever since, and work with the big tech companies (Airbnb, Twitter etc.)Last month my photos were in Harpers Bazaar UK. When I’m not taking photos I teach photography to folks who live with disabilities (differently abled ❤) and I’ve only just realised that we have both come full circle. Wow. Hey Iwan! Good to see you ‘sorting out your’ memories! Did you know that ‘The Portable Door’ was filmed in Sydney? If you look out you can see the town hall and other old Sydney landmark buildings. They used CGI for the London backgrounds. It was filmed during the height of the coronavirus. There are quite a few Australian actors featured in it. Great to see you out on the roof terrace again. It’s looking splendid!

Funny to think back that far. My first job was a summer job as a worker in a store restaurant for three months my second was for two years at a veterans hospital I took 9 years off having my children when I went back to work I worked for one and a half years at a nursing home my last job was for thirty six years at my local university hospital with the last twenty years being a nurse. I am now six years into my retirement. I love the old pictures. I wish my little herb garden on my front porch would grow so well as all your plants Happy gardening and scrapbooking to you

My first job was as an assistant in a flower shop. I like working with the public and the flowers. Even worked on arrangements and did All the flowers for a good friend's wedding. Great job for a creative person.🌹

My work experience from school was in a real old fashioned asylum! Suffice to say it was an experience and was at a time when I flirted with going in to psychiatric work. A full and varied career has brought me to counselling and helping young people remove barriers to progression through advocacy and mentoring! Such an interesting vlog covering lots of facets of your life ❤

Love the idea of the memory scrap books, and those photos of you when you were younger are lovely. 10 Years on You Tube as Mr Carrington, is just amazing. I have not been following you that long but perhaps the last 4 or 5 years, I'm not sure. But I do enjoy your channel a lot, and you have introduced other channels to follow too, equally as enjoyable so thank you for that. Going into your cupboard and coming out on your roof garden was very clever!! I might try going into one of my cupboards and hope to come out in Spain or somehere warmer than the UK at the moment! My cat, we think has his own portal too, can't be found when it is bedtime but turns up from some place at 3am in the morning! Love the roof garden and watching what you will do next to it, I must get down to my local Lldl they seem to have some good gardening bargs there! I loved the portable door😂😂😂. My cats also love to help me when there is some diy involved. The roof garden is getting very lovely. I stopped the video to see the Lidl catalog on line, but here in Spain they don't offer the same things at the same time. And on Sundays shops are closed. If not, i would have rushed to ger some geraniums. Plants are so much cheaper that at any garden center. It could be a theme to see what is new in Lidl and Aldi in different countries and compare prices.

Hi, Mr C, great content as usual! Started working life in an office as a junior clerk, & office work was my bread & butter til my daughter started secondary school. (By then l hated working in an office)! Took a huge leap of faith & started working in Social Care & never looked back! Been in Social Care for about 18 years as a Support Worker & l have found my true vocation! 🙂👍

Oh, I used to love scrapbooking - although I picked it up from people doing it in the US and often professionally here in the UK, so it got stupidly competitive amongst them about using the latest and greatest ephemera and I stopped, feeling like my pathetic efforts were unworthy. My advice is do it for the pleasure it gives you and definitely don’t fall down the rabbit hole of people doing it for a living!

Love the portable door moment! I missed my work experience at school because it was the same time as a school trip to Russia and I didn't want to miss that. I did a placement year at Uni in a haematology lab at a local hospital which I loved. (I now work for blood and cell therapy medical device company). I would love to hear more about your career in another video. ❤

As a student I had a job working at the post office sorting. During the weeks before Christmas the post would be really heavy. In those days you sorted by hand into pigeon holes. One year I was leader of the A-team, one of the old postmen who worked there pulled be to one side and asked it we would slow down because the post was being cleared to quickly. The kittens looks so healthy lovely shiny coats.

You've really come a long way and I too believe in signs so I think the universe put you exactly where you needed to be. 😉 Love the little portal doorway bit. Kinda reminded me of the kid shows I used to watch as a child where they would pretend to use a portal to go some place imaginary. Yes, I remember my first job, it was in the 70's and I was 14, I worked Sat and Sun washing cars at a used car garage, I earned £1 each day. Then whilst studying for my A levels I worked at Hillards (now Tesco) 3 evenings a week on the checkout. During the main summer holiday I also worked at a factory packing Burberry scarves. They allowed me to finish at 4.20pm so I could get to my checkout job for 5pm so I could work both jobs. Oh, those were the days. besides working 13 hour days they were fun times!!

Lovely😊.. scrapbooking memories are such fun. Enjoy scrapbooking and your trip down memory lane. My parents brought me boxes with all my stuff and while home with my first child. I went through it and made scrapbooks with old photos and paper memorabilia eg cards, tickets, travel stuff, etc..in chronological order. I did a book from birth to 14yrs, a book for 14-16yrs (olevels), a book age 16-18yrs (alevels), a book for my BSc 3 yrs at uni, a book for my 2yr MSc at uni, a book for my 3yr PhD, and then back-packing books of my world travels eg Australia book, New Zealand book, etc... I love looking at them all with a cup of coffee and my kids love looking at them to😊. Since everything turned digital I haven't got anything.. I need to start making digital scrap books from 2006!.. so I'm so behind! They are SO IMPORTANT when you get old to keep your long-term memory active.. we used them for my Great, great Aunt when she hit 101yrs old and her memory started to slip. Ps the purple fruit (bottom left of pillow) are figs.

I was planning on joining the Army at 17, to train as a chef. I passed all the first stages. Then had to spend a weekend at an Army barracks and was treated like a recruit ! That taster made me realise I didn’t like it at all ! So I enrolled at college and did a 3 yr catering apprenticeship, on day release . Happy days and memories…lol

For the trellis, if u plant a few sweet peas, they would grow up and around it looking and smelling gorgeous. I use sweet peas everywhere, even in hanging baskets

Iwan..... you do make me giggle!!! I could do with a magic cupboard!! 😉 I love scrap books they're so great to look back over in yrs to come!! I love looking back at old pics...it's fun looking back at how things used to be, sitting remembering and having a few moments of nostalgia!! Great fun!! Loved looking at some of yr memory bits and pieces, brilliant!! I did a few different work experience in my time....local pet shop, local corner shop, my very first full time job was at a hair salon in a place called Hebes!! I was working as a trainee on a YTS scheme!!!! I used to get paid £38.50p per wk plus travel cost which I think was an extra £10!! Very long hrs for not a lot of money back in those days!! Love the new green on the fences.....plants will look amazing against that colour!! 😉👍😊

Happy Sunday, Iwan! I was just 16 when I first started work and I trained as a switchboard operator for what was then The Post Office, (Number please, Directory Enquiries, Emergency 999, etc). I used to earn about £14 a week, give my Mom £4, and I had a tenner left all to myself. I used to think I was rich on a Friday night! Lol,lol 😂 💕

MR C the patio looks fantastic I love the vine back drop. That little self your not sure which colour to paint it. The wood matches the floor I go with the black on top of the green sides. It would pop but Aldo match the floor not to mention if the plants stain it the top the black paint would be safer. I absolutely love your patio. Morning coffees and evening drinkiepoohs 😅

I have so many memories that I plan to organize too ! I just moved and I managed at least to sort it out by categories, but I still have to see how I will store it for the long run. A long term project, I think ! The roof garden is getting very nice ! I enjoyed the portal door transition a lot ! 😁 I think it may be olives and figs that we can see on your Fragonard cushion. Brilliant vlog Mr C. I have a photo of me and my siblings feeding pigeons in Trafalgar Square - it must have been a cheap day out for families. Mine was taken in the eighties! (I am an old bird - haha!) I love the cushion - it is stunning. A really easy to grow beautiful plant is calibrachoa - they don't need much looking after and the flowers are stunning - especially if you go for the double flowers. I love how helpful pumpkin and mittens are - my basset hound Ella is really helpful too - not!! Lol! I hope you have a good week. Much love xxx 😘
