The premier league is literally the Pep league. Brighton, burnley next year, brentford, forest, palace under viera and the list goes on. All of these mid table sides 10 years ago were playing 4-4-2 long ball football. Now, since pep demolished sir Alex in 2010 and moved to England, almost every team tries to play out from the back and play attacking possession based football. Incredible. True he also has to accept in Spain barca and Madrid were on par for size stature although real Madrid have a richer history? When he came to English Premier league he realised there are 4 bigger more successful popular clubs than City which meant he had to keep acknowledging that over the years he had been here, spurs are a banter club but in 2023 still has substantially way more loyal English/ british fans in England than City will ever have.

Going into a defensive stance with only a two goal lead is the worst thing you can do in soccer. The minimum is always 3. Precisely for this reason they defended more against Bayern, because they had the 3 goals behind them and when the series changed to 3-1 right away there was concern until Haaland's goal, the two-goal advantage is the most deceptive thing that exists in this sport
