Dude..... how can I say it. It's underexposed severely. At least 1 stop. Secondly your lab did a crap job with inversion and orange mask removal. Not your fault. Do the same again, but treat it like it's 200 film, or change your metering.

Splendid camera! The plastic ISO-dial comes from the M6. They changed a few parts, but that one they kept.

These look underexposed. I'd suggest getting familiar with sunny 16 and using that to make sure that the exposure you're selecting makes sense. You might want to try another lab too, or ask them to scan with their Frontier instead of Noritsu. Personally I like brooktree film lab.

On the next roll I'd overexpouse +1 stop and see how you like the difference from the lab :) At times, Film highlights can be recovered up to 6-8 stops which is wild.

The wonderful world of film photography on an M 🙂. Embrace the process and it's already a very good practice not to expect 36 great photos from each roll. But when you nail it or get a result you really like, it's hard to beat that feeling. My primary tip would be to overexpose a bit or take a reading from the highlights, mids and shadows and balance them out. A couple of the pictures looked underexposed to me (cfr. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o5t9f9Ca39G7qnU.htmlsi=A5b8-4mQwUuo8jWM ). And try to experiment with a lot of different film stocks, that's a big part of the fun imo. Oh yeah, and the modern Summilux lenses can only help in getting the most out of your film photos.

thanks, it will be fun to see the different film stocks. choosing the right film adds a whole new layer of challenge.

My first roll was on a Pentax k1000 with the same film I think and I had a few underexposed shots in the woods where the meter isn't as reliable

Remove the battery. Meter by eye for a month/dozen rolls. Shoot b&w with the steel rim. Overexpose. Then you'll be a much better film shooter. Cheers!

I will be purchasing some B&W film. But that’s a scary thought about missing exposure on the next dozen rolls.
