You should 100% follow this up and file an assault charge with your police department. I'm not a bleeding heart who believes violence is always bad in fact I believe fighting should be allowed to settle certain differences but attacking someone unprovoked like this is just crazy and I don't care who you are even a hammered UFC fighter is going to lose to the average sober guy so imagine how bad this could've been for him if you weren't level headed.
