Unfortunately, she was severely injured right after the release of Psycho and has only returned very recently, hence the lack of a newer comeback. Two of the members, Irene and Seulgi (the one you first asked about), released an album a couple months ago as a subunit with MVs for Monster and Naughty.

They have two different concepts/sounds their name red velvet represents this, red meaning their more bright cutesy and pop sound for example happiness and then velvet stands for their more R&B side for example psycho. Wendy, the main vocalist, was unfortunately injured pretty badly shortly after Psycho was released while performing on stage. She fractured her pelvis along with a few other injuries. So she has been recovering, and that is the reason for the long duration without a comeback.

Seulgi (whose voice you liked the most) did a song together with Moonbyul called "Selfish." They are close friends in real life outside of their own groups. Also, Red Velvet hasn't released any new songs since psycho in 2019 because Wendy (the one with the high note) fell off during an award show rehearsal from a really high stage set last year, had multiple fractures and recovering still. :( This year a sub-unit group, Irene & Seulgi, released an album, Monster. The concepts are dark like (or even darker than) Psycho. And yes. the girl you liked in the first mv IS the same girl you liked in the second mv. :) Also, Red Velvet added a member since the Happiness and now there are 5 members as seen in the mv, Psycho.

Watching only 2 mv is not enough to understand Red velvet, they’re so versatile and every comeback is different, they always try new concepts and it’s impossible to predict what they are gonna do next time. They also have a sub-unit that debuted in July. They didn’t have a comeback this year yet, because of some people (sbs) Wendy was injured and recovering since last December. But she got better and is slowly coming back

I’m so happy that you react to them! Red Velvet is in my top 3 girl group and their vocals are everything. They are so versatile, they did a lot of concept: cute, summer, horror, weird, and even more! I think you should react to “Monster” its their latest comeback as a sub unit (Irene and Seulgi (the one you like). The main vocalist, Wendy (white hair) is on hiatus right now but she is better now so they are probably have a comeback in October/December. 😊 Some of the song I recommend: bad boy, zimzalabim, red flavour, really bad boy, umpah umpah, power up. (Red Belvet is also known as bside queen so you should react to some of them too.)

Ahhhhhh! This was my suggestion! 😍 So cool to see it! Red Velvet has a really diverse discography, they do a lot of experimental stuff, but everything they do is very "them", if that makes sense? One of the things I love about RV is that they always make really amazing use of their harmonies, and a lot of their ad libs are really great and I think add extra color to their songs. As others have said, they have a "Red" and a "Velvet" side that they switch between for their song concepts (with Red being the cutesy and more bubbly songs like Happiness, and Velvet being more of the darker/mature songs, like Psycho). Also, IMO, their B sides are some of the best out there - my personal favorite is Sunny Side Up. Wendy and Seulgi have such amazing vocals, and I think that Seulgi is one of the best dancers of this generation right now. Wendy is the one with the blue hair who did the "Shine on Me" bridge in Happiness, and is the same one who has the white hair in Psycho that you asked about. Seulgi is the one in the grass in Happiness and the one you liked in Psycho with the short hair. :) You have good taste, Seulgi is my RV bias! ;) I hope you decide to listen to more of them and can get an appreciation for their style. Red Velvet! My bias is Wendy, she's the vocal power house of the group. These girls are crazy and have a very wide array of concepts in their music. Fandom is Reveluv Also the girl in the grass and the one you liked in Psycho are the same. Kang Seul-gi is her name, or just "Seulgi" for short.

"They (Rv) should be having a comeback, I guess...." A bit of a touchy subject. Wendy, their main vocalist had a terrible accident at one of the award shows, right after Psycho launched, falling over 6 feet on an unfinished set, breaking her pelvis, cheekbone and wrist. Red Velvet has been on a hiatus due to that with the other artists doing seperate projects. They released one song, a tribute to another artist, called Milky Way which has a LIVE performance MV. It was a big relief to Reveluv's (their fandom, pronounced "Revel loves" or shortened to "Lovies") but seeing how they were all seated for the performance, makes me wonder if Wendy still needs recovery time. Red Velvet is known for two things that is head and shoulders above other kpop groups. The first is that they always change concepts from song to song, you NEVER know what you are getting next. The other is they have one of the best (and biggest) b-side track list in kpop. To understand their concept diversity, I would check out two releases back in 2015 and 2016, Dumb Dumb is a Red song (bright and poppy) and One of These Nights, a Velvet (R&B, soulful and darker) Ballad. They do very experimental concepts like Red Flavor (2017) which was voted by Billboard Magazine as the second best kpop song of the 2010's, Peek-a-Book (the mv has a American Horror Story vibe), Zimzalabim (the theme is a cult like amusement fantasy), RBB (Halloween themed). Their biggest song is probably Bad Boy, their ultimate Velvet R&B song, along with Red Flavor.

Seulgi, the main dancer with the best voice out there. She's one of the most complete idols, looks gorgeous, amazing voice, incredible dancer. She's kind, funny, adorable, there's no way to not like her.

What I LOVE LOVE LOVE about Happiness is how special and unique it is as a debut song for a girlgroup. Usually girlgroups go for the super super cute debut song (with the few exceptions you already know about), and those debut songs get old super fast, especially when such groups are allowed to grow and evolve, debut songs don't usually age well. But with Happiness?? I can listen to it forever. When I need a boost of good vibes I put it on and just have the best time. You've been told this already probably but the one with the yellow hair is Seulgi, her voice is very bright and piercing, and she's the lead vocal. Wendy, with blue hair, is the main vocal and her voice is warm, she got range and agility for days. Joy is the one with green hair, her voice is closer to Seulgi's, bright and kinda airy at times, and she's improved A LOT since debut. Irene is the one with pink hair, she's the leader and the main rapper, but she sings really well too and has a very sweet voice. Then you got Yeri who join later on, as you see in Psycho, and she's lead rapper, she can sing too, although personally her voice isn't my fave, mostly because it is kind of cutesy?? Hopefully when you check them out more you'll understand what I mean.

I'm sure someone has explained this already (I didn't read all 109 comments), but here it is, just in case they didn't.... Red Velvet's concept is that they really don't have a specific concept. They are, in fact, capable of doing pretty much any concept they want. They do, however, have 2 'sides' to their music, a "Red" side and a "Velvet" side. The Red side consists of their lighter, poppier, more fun songs such as Happiness. Their Velvet side consists of their more mature, sometimes sultry, often R&B inspired songs such as Psycho. More examples of their Velvet side would be... Bad Boy Automatic One of These Nights Be Natural (a cover) More examples of their Red side would be... Dumb Dumb Ice Cream Cake Russian Roullette Red Flavor As you progress through their MV's you'll notice 2 things. 1) A lot of their MV's have a dark undertone to them. 2) There's a lot of references to food. About 2 months ago they introduced a sub unit consisting of just 2 members, Irene and Seulgi (the one you like). There are MV's for 2 of their songs, Monster and Naughty. There's also a solo from Seulgi titled Uncover. Sadly there's no MV for Uncover, but there are several lyric videos you could check out. All 3 are worth checking out. Red velvet are the queens of the quirky concepts, I would recommend you to listen their b sides bcs sometimes they're even better than the title tracks, also (addressing to what I just said) there are two songs that you should check: One of these nights (title tracks, but check the "Yu Huiyeol's sketchbook" version bcs it's live) and Automatic (b-side with mv), the vocals on both are really pretty. Also I wanted to tell you that they haven't made another full group comeback because Wendy (the short haired blonde in psycho, and my bias), fell off from a very high plataform in December when she was practicing for a special stage, all of this due to the irresponsibility of SBS. She broke her right cheekbone, wrist and pelvis, now she's almost fully recovered (almost). When they debuted with Happiness they were 4 members (Irene, Seulgi, Joy and Wendy). They released a couple songs as four and then Yeri was added as a fifth member with the song "Ice Cream Cake" (Yeri was the one hopping on the bed in Psycho). They're said to have two sides to Red Velvet; the "Red"- poppy and bright, and the "Velvet"- soulful and darker, but in my opinion, many of their recent songs blend the two sides together. Psycho being the cumulation of that, and is my current favorite song of all time. Peek-a-boo and Bad Boy are two I'd suggest looking at next. And they have too many great b-sides to list. The reason they haven’t had a full group comeback in so long is due to Wendy the lead vocalist having an accident at the very end of last year. Reacting to Red Velvet was definitely a great decision! They have one of the best and most versatile discographies in kpop, next to mamamoo and dreamcatcher (in my opinion of course) and very much worked their way up to become one of the most respected groups in the industry. They are being recognized as koreas representative girl group by lots of people (though depending on who you ask, probably sharing that title with twice and blackpink). Wendy (blue hair in the first MV) is their main vocalist who is hitting all those high notes, and she's known as one of the best vocalists in the industry right now, not just because of her tone and technique, but also because she has an incredible range that not a lot of singers can match. Sadly due to a stage error (and sbs' major fck up) she suffered a 2 meter fall off a stage last year at an award show rehearsal, a few days after psycho was released. She broke several bones and had to be hospitalized for several months, which is why psycho didn't get a proper promotion and why there hasn't been a group comeback in such a long time. Recently though she came back to perform with the girls for Boas (SM senior artist) anniversary celebration, and the group sang the song milky way together (i recommend watching that video, you can hear their vocals very well). Despite not having a group comeback, irene and seulgi had a sub-unit debut this summer that absolutely blew everyone away cause it was amazing. And although Seulgi is main dancer (and is one of the best dancers, recognized by many other idols and seniors) and Irene and Yeri have the rapper position, all of the girls have very good vocals and could easily outsing a good portion of the industry. I hope you can react to some more red velvet, especially live stages, cause, being an sm group, their vocal abilities are better than most groups (personally, i'd probably put them right under mamamoo) Sorry for this long ramble, lots of people probably told you all this already, i just really love red velvet a lot and had to swoon about their talents a bit :D

During this long hiatus they had the had a subunit comeback with two of the members Irene and seulgi. i'll tell you the members by color of hair in the first video as these are their official colors (when you see subtitles from the fandom they are usually color coordinated) Yellow, the one you liked a lot is Seulgi/Kang Seulgi and yes it's the same girl you liked in psycho. She is main dancer and lead vocal. Pink, is Irene/Bae Joohyun, she's the leader, main rapper, and visual/center. Green is Joy/Park Sooyoung, she's lead rapper and sub vocal. Blue is Wendy/Son Seungwan, she's the main vocal and indeed the one hitting most of the high notes. I understand what you mean by saying her voice is a bit weird. I can't really place it either but it may be because she mainly grew up speaking english so sometimes her korean sounds weird? other than that I think she just has a very unique voice. After their debut with happiness they added a fifth member named Yeri/Kim Yerim, her color is purple and she's the sub rapper and vocalist. You didn't get to hear much of her here but she has a VERY unique voice, very breathy and I like it a lot. She has a couple solo songs and on her youtube DUM DUM Studio she recently did a few covers. Mamamoo is my ulti group but Red Velvet is a close second. Now, unlike mamamoo, red velvet focuses mainly on visuals and dancing during a lot of live performances so if you'd like to mainly look at their live vocals it might be easier to look at less big stage performances and check out the ReVe festival videos, wear it is more stripped down and you can really hear them sing. They do sing live on actual stages too, but not as much as say mamamoo does. Also above the positions I listed are just the 'official' positions, in reality red velvet has 5 vocalists, dancers, and rappers. RV def has interesting and different concepts but they have great SONGS. Seulgi the one you like is my favorite along with Joy. Personally I prefer their Velvet side bc it's more R&B and more mature. She fell during rehearsal 2.5 meters from the stage door way and movable staircase that wasn't in place. This is the reason for the gap from 2019. But she's finally back and "ReVeluv's" couldn't be happier.

Watching this video makes me so emotional. I was a fan since their debut era and saw how they grow musically makes me teary eyed. Watching their latest song after their debut song made me realize how huge Red Velvet made an impact in my life.

Dreamcatcher and Red Velvet are my current Ults so I'm happy you've found Red Velvet. To me, Red Velvet is one of the most perfect pop acts I've ever encountered, Korean or otherwise, and I wish they were held in more high regard internationally. Their harmonies are my favorite and their music can get really experimental for pop. And riding their wave of hyper pop and smooth R&B is so rewarding!

Psycho was such a gigantic hit. It kept charting for months on end. Also, If you haven't noticed on the last MV there were 5 of them. That's because they added a fifth member sometime after their debut.

Psycho is the song which brought me to RedVelvet. Thank you for checking this up! Do you maybe want to check up "Hynn" in the future? She's so underrated outside of Korea. In Korea, she's well known and her songs are often covered. Recently very successful on King of Masked Singers. She has impressive power ballads, I'm sure you'll like her. I'd love to hear your point of view. She's known for live vocals. You could check up her newest "When I tell you goodbye" + she has done 2 acapella versions of it ( completely live, without any micro or something). ☺️

Red Velvet does not walk the beaten path! every comeback is like finding out a new style of music they debut with 5 members but on their next comeback added their 5th member and red velvet has been 5 people ever since. Red velvet recently debuted a sub unit with 2 members the title of the Music video is Monster and you have got to try it out!

seulgi is a main dancer, but I was really impressed when you guessed she was a rapper, and complimented her voice. yes she is the ace of kpop, a talented idol.

These girls (Along with Dreamcatcher) are my ultimate bias girl groups. Wendy (Blue tipped hair in Happiness, and the silvery white hair in Psycho) is my bias, and the strongest 3rd gen vocalist (along with Siyeon) and Seulgi (yellow tipped hair in happiness, and the short, wavy brown w/ teal ended hair in Psycho.) They're name show their two sides. "Red" being very happy, bouncy, poppy music. "Velvet" being very smooth, some R&B, and some occasional darker concept. The fandom name is "Reveluv"!! Songs I 100% recommend: Red side-Either "Zimzalabim" (for Wendy's crazy high note at the end) or Russian Roulette (Just because it's fun and chip-tune), and for their "Velvet" side I would 100% recommend "Kingdom Come", "Automatic", "Bad Boy" (Bad Boy also has an English version), "One of These Nights", and "Be Natural".

not a good sign when the bear was the best part lol :D red velvet has some good songs, but a good portion of their discography just make you wonder wth :D so not really a full fan but I do like wendy, their main vocal.
