Me and @dunneytravels flew from London Gatwick to Colombo Airport in Sri Lanka. The first stop on our tour of Sri Lanka was NEGOMBO. As new travellers, we try String Hoppers for the first time, a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, and take my first ever TukTuk to the famous Fish Market. We stay hydrated throughout the day with fresh coconuts and stock up on some necessities from the local supermarket!

@@patwalker2512 yes we did the Kandy to Ella train journey, 6+ hours but stunning views! I have a video covering some bits on that (the Kandy video) but definitely look to book your tickets early. I think they go on sale 30 days in advance and sell out super quickly so we ended up paying over double the price for a reserved seat. Or obviously you can buy unreserved but the train gets packed once it reaches Nuwara Eliya so might not be ideal. Also recommend 2nd class as first class you can't open the windows due to air con.

Sun silk shampoo is very famous in srilanka Negombo is not far the Airport . Negombo is fisherman communities Those areas dominated by Tamils Those fish call Dry fish

@@betsythomps Traditional Sweets 🍭 -Kiri Toffee, Kokis, Asmi, Dodol, Boondi, Weli talapa, Pani Walalu Dessert 🍨 - Watalappan, Mee Kiri (Buffalo Curd with Honey) Short Eats 🥪 - Egg Rolls, Egg Roti Vegetable Roti, Patis, Fish Bun, Cutlets Meals 🍛 - Lamprais with Banana Leaf, Sri Lankan Biriyani, Kottu, String Hoppers with Dal or Curry, Egg Hoppers, Parata with Curry, Dosa (thosey) with Curry Try them all, these are sri lankan foods and most of them are healthy too, not artificial stuff.

@@betsythomps you can find sweets in sweet shops (there are 4,5 shops in every town) ask locals how to find them, ask them with names they know. You can find other foods easily.

Ah amazing thanks so much. We've tried most of the short eats (have a video on that one too from Tangalle!) but will try get a video filmed this week of traditional sweets and dessert! Some of those meals sound yummy too we must try the Biriyani!@@ravindu-
