He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Qobyz for that. The Qobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. As a Kazakh he speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range. And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. He had already decided to retire, when he met Dimash and was so amazed by his talent that he decided to postpone his retirement. This happened in 2018. So he had the right to be tired at the end😊 That doesn't mean he sang it worse or 50% better, no, this performance is iconic and exemplary in many respects. For comparison, you can listen to Stranger performed during the Chinese show Shine Brothers (it's on the Dimashes channel). It has been a long time since ive seen a reaction to Stranger not be blurred. Oh, Happy Birthday Nick. Igor Krutoy is the piano man. Yes he's a famous Russian composer, producer, singer. He has written many songs for many artists. He has written or rewritten many songs for Dimash. Love of Tired Swans, Olympico, Mademoiselle Hyde, Your Love, Okay, Know, Where Love Lives, Love is Like a Dream. There might be more, but my brain can't remember. It was Dimash's idea to add in the Qobyz/Kobyz that is played by Olzhas Qurmanbek.

Igor Krutoy came out of retirement after hearing Dimash and wanted to be able to be part of Dimash’s rise to fame (my words). He was so impressed by Dimash, he has written many songs for him and he is there to accompany him. You can see how proud he is of Dimash when the camera focuses briefly on him. I’ve heard the whistle note he hits is a D8.

Very flexible vocal folds, yes, but he didn't get those overnight. In an interview with a Turkish interviewer Dimash was asked if his vocal folds are physically longer than average (happens as a twist of nature sometimes), and Dimash confirmed that this was the case. But...this means absolutely nothing if you don't tirelessly train them to do what Dimash is capable of. This is commitment since age 5, hard work, never skipping a practice (he practices at least 3 hours a day) adjusting your life habits like not drinking cold liquids or alcohol (he even stated that he used to drink his coke luke warm).

He is a very influential musician in the slawic world and a billionaire. But he was retired before he heard Dimash for the first time. Then he decided to compose for him. Thanks to that decision we have songs like Stranger, Ave Maria, Olimpico/Ogni Pietra, Love is like a Dream and Dimash singing other songs, that Krutoy originally composed for other singers. People don’t talk as much about his lower range. (Which he developed much more recently), maybe because it‘s more common in men. And there are enough other singers that can sing even lower. I am so pleased that you are doing more Dimash reactions, Placido was impressed enough to invite Dimash to be a judge and , with one day of practice, perform a duet together. Dimash’s music generally does combine elements of traditional folk sounds or instruments, even if he uses his voice to create the sound, which is not uncommon. In other songs, he will do what sounds like a violin solo, which some people view as showing off and I view as-this is how he mentally sees/hears this song in his mind. Igor Krutoy is a very revered Ukraine/ Rusdsion Composer,/Entrepreneur whp came out of semi-retirement to write pieces especially for the unique voice of Dimash. The first song her wrote for him was Olympico (after all who else could sng it! Or this one!?} They have since collaborated on numerous pieces, but Dimash is also a Songwriter and Composer. "Stranger" was the first of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021, during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano and introduced Olzhas Qurmanbeck on the kobyz. Igor Krutoy composed the music, American poetess Sharon Vaughn wrote the lyrics, and Dimitris Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan) did the arrangement. Igor Krutoy is quoted as saying, "it was Dimash's talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities, and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don't see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way." In my humble opinion, this is an amazing performance, one of the best to date. Dimash traverses almost 5 octaves (C2-F6) in this performance. That stunning last note is about 19.7 seconds in full mixed voice belt in F#5. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! Super Brothers S2" Youku Show that is simply mind-boggling and well worth checking out. Thus, the kobyz debuted at the New Wave Hall at the Sochi Olympic Park, and what a great choice indeed. It is a beautiful-sounding instrument that underscores the song's deep meaning. This wasn't the first time that Dimash has featured Olzhas Qurmanbeck playing the kobyz. You can also enjoy him in a few of Dimash's other performances, such as Qairan Elim (official music video) and Samaltau (2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival). For those who are unfamiliar with this instrument, the kobyz, played here by Olzhas Qurmanbeck, is a 5,000-year-old, traditional, sacred instrument in Kazakhstan. The kobyz or Kyl kobyz is the most ancient bowed instrument on earth, widespread among the Turks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. It became the basis for most of today's bowed instruments worldwide, including European instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. The Kyrgyz variant is called Kyl kayak. The instrument is carved from a single piece of wood (typically apricot), juniper (arsha), maple, pine tree, or birch. The instrument consists of three parts: head (base), middle (base is keude), and lower part (ayak) and usually measures 60-70 cm. The resonant cavity is usually covered with goatskin, reproducing a sound representing the animals of the steppe. It has two strings made from horsetail hair, one to provide melody and the other resonance. Someone explained that one string is made with 75 horse hairs and the other with 60 horsehairs. The strings are not pushed down to a fret but are played with pressure applied by either the fingernail or the pad on the finger, and the tones are varied by the pressure of the bow. The bow is shaped like an archer's bow, and its string, made with 40 horse hairs, is tied to both ends of the bent branch and affixed with strong threads of camel wool. The New Wave Music competition started in 2002 and for nearly two decades now, has been one of the most iconic music events in Russia and other parts of the world. It is an international contest for young performers of popular music. It was founded by Russian composer, performer, and music producer Igor Krutoy (seen here playing the piano) and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls. Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva eventually joined as one of the show's organizers. The contest usually lasts for six days: 3 contest days, 2 special event days, and the final day when the contest's results are announced, and a final concert is performed. The television audience of the New Wave music competition numbers more than 200 million people. In 2018, Dimash debuted as a guest performer, performing his now legendary rendition of "Sinful Passion." This year (2021), Dimash took part as a guest performer and a judge. 11 participants from 9 countries competed for the grand prize in the finale.

Hola Nick. Igor krutoy es un compositor famoso, él estaba retirado pero cuando escuchó a Dimash en una presentación, decide volver y realiza muchos trabajos con Dimash. Son un par de genios. Entre los trabajo que tiene con Dimash está Strangers, Ave María, Olímpico, El amor de los cisnes cansados, Ok, Mademoiselle Hyde, y otras increíbles obras más. Ellos son muy amigos y la verdad son geniales. The guy at the piano is Igor Krutoy, The Russian equivalent of Andrew Lloyd Weber. He was retired and came out of retirement and Is working with Dimash mostly just for the hell of it, If you see the video of Sinful Passion he is in the audience and stands up at the end (apparently his mother told him to come to the concert)

The pianist it is Igor Krutoy, a Russian composer, he want to retired and his mother was a Dear of Dimash, when she new Igor was on the process to retired, she was a Dear of Dimash and talk to him about Dimash.
