LOVE LOVE LOVE Hourglass powders- top 5 Hourglass items would be Hourglass Veil Eye Primer (so good & so underrated, Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, Hourglass Ambient Powder Brush, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure, & of course Hourglass 6 pan holiday palettes (have quite a few of them - lol)!!! Hourglass is definitely one of my favorite brands!!

Great choices! I thought the hourglass shadows were over priced as well. That was me! However, I am now owning my truth …. I can’t apply shadow expertly, I enjoy “boring” palettes and shades and I am more interested in the quality and ease of use for every day and these nail it 😊

I love Hourglass! The bronzer, blushes, and their finishing brush in #7 are all HG status for me. They don’t dry out my skin, and last longer than any other powder products on my skin. I also have Vol 2, love that one as well. I need to try their matte lipsticks, hopefully they are not drying. the satin ones didn’t last on me. Oh, I have been using that #7 brush for many years! It’s the best brush for smoothing whatever needs to be smoothing out on your face. The best I have ever tried. And, I have tried them ALL, including SG soft buffer, does nothing, waste of my money. . I once left #7 home when traveling. I was actually upset with that. lol! Oh, I forgot. I love their tinted skin tint as well. #7 in that one, perfect shade for me.

Hourglass is one of my top brands. I love their powder products, especially the Jellyfish palette and most recently the Golden Rose edit, I LOVE it for summer. Everything is so easy to blend and just looks effortlessly gorgeous. The Unlocked satin lipsticks are my favourite lipstick formula possibly ever. Love their brow products too, their gel eyeliners, brushes, Veil setting powder, concealer, foundation stick, eyeshadow sticks. Their cream blushes in the stick are so underrated. If you told me I could only buy Hourglass for the rest of my life, I'd be OK with that!! According to Space NK, it's my most purchased brand and I regret nothing 😂

I honestly take no issue with your love of the shadows since I have palettes that have products that I've never touched. I'm a palette hopper & have a couple going at the same time to get the colors I want. You have chosen the shades you wanted & unlike many of us, you're using all you paid for! Was the price high? Maybe. Was it worth it? Yes it was.

Hi Rebecca! I depotted my hourglass holiday palette (check my video called Depotting Hourglass) and I made a custom palette with only finishing powders. I love it! Since the pans are small, I prefer to have the same type of product instead of a variety of colours

Hi Rebecca, this is a great video. Love hourglass. I love mascara, Eyebrow products, finishing powders and the holiday palettes! When the eyeshadows came out, they ?40 each in Australia, not certain about the number. Then you had to buy the component separately of course. Back then i wasn't buying chanel and tom ford makeup so i couldn't compare, but i vividly remember my reaction of WHAT???!!!! 😅 i think it was purely the price. Even though the bronzer was like $80-90 😅.

I want to try their tubing mascara, but haven't yet. My Hourglass favourites are the ambient lighting powders, the vanish primer, the blushers, and the setting spray. All of these are top banana for me

The eyeshadow looked good on your lids. I need to hear how they compare to ND’s newest releases in ease. I was just starting to get into hourglass but then they removed ingredients from their site and didn’t respond to emails with questions about ingredients for *months*. The eye balm is HG.

They have a weird way of dealing with customer service. They don’t get back to people and stay very secretive and I have no idea why that is as it completely impacts Customer confidence. With regard to the shadows, these are a little bit less creamy than Natasha and a little bit less impactful but not by much

I have Leopard in the Jellyfish packaging and the deepest palette in Owl. Those are my only two Hourglass products so far. I'm still getting to know them, so I don't have a final answer as to my opinion. had no idea the eyeshadow situation even happened or was a thing.

Oh I love this idea! Hourglass is one of my 3 must have brands (with Charlotte Tilbury and my true love bareminerals original foundation and powder). My picks would be: the scattered lights Ambient lightning palette 2 (Iam very very fair but with golden undertones) Iam on my 3rd compact!! The mascara in the triangular tube Blush in mood exposure The metallic strobe light palette

The Hourglass face palettes are fantastic. i love them. The flawless foundation is amazing. I'm on my second bottle. I really like the veil primer as well. The blushes are chiefs kiss and this isn't a makeup product, but i like their brushes aswell 😊

I loved it so much I bought Leopard and I really might like it better love the blushes my favorite is the click stick lipstick I just got it in RISE! It’s sooooo plumping I love the unlocked mascara too! Does that lip liner set down? I’ve been searching for a neutral nude pink ones that do (colourpop oh snap is my perfect shade)

Hi dear Rebecca, love to watch this!!! And it seems you feel a bit better here, i hope you feel completely better soon, you are so brave, keep on going making these video's!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩Hourglass? What first comes in my mind, o wow i tried a lot, but what i think first is these Christmas palettes, well they already come in September/October? I love the Elephant, was that last year the Leopard? Well, i buy them anyway. Am i satisfied about their progress for deeper complexions, no, can me better, still!!! Do they make amazing powders, yessss there is more, but when i say i do prefer their gorgeous finishing powder over the stupid Guerlain Meteorites, i mean it, i hate the smell, i hate te mess in my house, they always fall on the floor, i'm to chaotic for that. Hourglass makes gorgeous powders. That eyeshadow you showed was amazing, but i decluttered/gave away i believe, cause i got really crazy of the packaging. Ohh what i do love, is using the cute little shimmer single shadows, i think i love the colour Ray the most, but they have also a cute sort of khaki green and more! Summer Elephant palette, winter Sculpture, most used. What i love most about the brand, is that they are honest, i mean Chantecaille says we give it to the animals, well, i do not, from The Netherlands, Hourglass DOES it!!!! I love their philosofy!!! What would i love from them, a normal mascara, like Chantecaille has. Further, when we may curate shades, Hourglass, make customer-friendly packaging, and not that the products fall out the palette right away, and very important, more all-inclusive shades, can still be better! My top 5 are the bronzer in Diffused Light (such a unique undertone and looks nothing like the pan), the scattered lights shadows (I have all of them but smoke and ray are my faves), the skin tint (I’ve been wearing it all week and had forgotten how beautiful it is), the original finishing powder trio, and the veil retouching fluid (there is nothing else I have found like it).

Holiday 2023 was my first time dipping my toe into Hourglass. I bought the Leopard & the Snake palettes but swapped the contents around. These two gorgeous palettes made me kick myself for not buying the Holiday 2022 offerings which I talked myself out of buying! 😡😆💕

I thought and still think that eyeshadow is overpriced. I prefer Natasha Denona for price/quality ratio. I love Hourglass unlocked mascara, Hourglass brushes, Hourglas holidaypalettes, Hourglass primer and what I always use...is an other product that got backlash: Ambient Lighting Infinity Powder. I use that stuff as natural highlighter, under the brow bown, to town down blush/eyeshadow looks For me it is a go to and last ages...

Mine are the hourglass scattered lights eyeshadows I have all of hem except for burnish and ray and I can't find a demo of Burnish on the eyes on KZfaq for the life of me. It seems like everyone has tried on all shades except Burnish 🥺

I can't remember as i have a brain like a seive but it's possible the eyeshadow came after they released their trio of powers for deeper skin tones and there was controversy over them not being inclusive enough and some people didn't believe the product would work on the model used.

OK let’s talk about this. You are right but you will be told you are wrong. There was a period of a year or two where the brand was really under fire for inclusivity or lack there of. And they kind of went into hiding to try to formulate different types of powders for deeper skin tones but they made a critical PR error in that they didn’t really communicate this to the public. And it was during this quiet That they released these eyeshadows. So the public was already furious with them And then they introduced these incredibly high priced eyeshadows and it is that undercurrent that fueled the anger. And people will tell me I’m wrong but I am not.

could you please share all the names of the eyeshadows used ? i have 3 as well but got them as singles because that’s the only way i wear eyeshadows. i love hourglass !! my favourite items are the skinny 1.5mm eyeliners, caution mascara ( i loved the original film noir mascara too), unlocked face palette, arch brow mascara, lip oil both original & tinted. in fact, hourglass is a brand which has only a few products that don’t work for me. oh & their brushes are fantastic too !

Oh I’ve got my hourglass tint and the leopard on today 🎉…. Surprised you’re tint 3 - is it because it’s neutral? It looks like a great match for you - I’m normally very close if not the same shade as you in complexion products but as I had to buy online as the tint is not sold here I went for 6 & 8 which are cool tone but easier for me to adapt than warm tones…. But 3 is listed as fair which put me off and I’m most definitely a light-medium and the model for 3 was very very pale.

Huh, I had never heard anyone talk about either those eyeshadows or lip liners before! i ordered a single shadow in the shade Orb (metallic golden brown) and a lip liner. My favorite lip liners are Chanel but these look like they are worth a try if you like them. The only Hourglass holiday palette I have is Leopard (in the Owl case), and so I am glad that I got what you think is the best one! I agree that their skin tint is really good. I don't like the scent in those Unlocked lipsticks but I do think the Phantom ones are nice. I would like to see more brand overview/best/worst videos from you.

The Soft Matte Lipstick is my favorite product currently from Hourglass. My other favorite soft matte lipstick is the Lancôme Soft Matte. It is extraordinary and doesn’t get enough love! I do get out multiple eyeshadow palettes when I do my makeup. In fact, I’d even say the times I use just one palette are the vast minority! I have realized I don’t like face palettes because I don’t think to use them. I store products by category and when I’m picking out my products for the day, if a blush isn’t with my other blushes, I don’t think to use it. I liked the Jellyfish in Owl packaging, but I wasn’t getting use out of it. I gave it to my daughter and she uses it every.single.day. She has declared herself “an Hourglass Girl” 😂😂😂 Lucky for her the palettes last forever because she doesn’t have the funds to be an “Hourglass Girl” unless it’s gifted to her! 😂😂😂😂😂 I have never even considered trying the Hourglass eyeshadows. I was NOT expecting you to say the eyeshadows! Now I want to try them!😂😂 I spend $90 on a Tom Ford quad, so I obviously have no leg to stand on complaining about Hourglass shadow prices. 😂😂😂 Edited to add: The shadows are $29 each! I don’t see people rioting over the $40 single Chanel shadows! (And I don’t care if the Chanel gives 2g instead of 1g. I’m never panning these things)

Yes. It was weird that HG got them rioting in the proverbial street but Chanel just waltzes by. So strange! An Hourglass girl. hahahahahahaha. My daughters live in a style to which I'd like to become accustomed, as the expression goes. Must be nice. meanwhile, I have holes in my socks.

You need some new stuff.” (In fact the other day I was wearing a blouse that I was also wearing in a “on this day in memories” photo montage that popped up from when she was THREE. She is almost 21 now. Yep, it’s still in the summer rotation!) When I explained that I could get new outfits, but it would eat into her own clothing budget, she had a greater appreciation for my “classic wardrobe of tried and true items” She thought it was great that I “stick with what works for me instead of hopping from fad to fad”. 😂😂😂 She does, however, encourage all makeup purchases knowing she is the automatic recipient of anything that doesn’t look great on me. 😂😂😂😂

I was just telling Helen the other day, after I got back from KZfaq and all of those ladies do a lot of Instagram fashion stuff, that I can’t do an outfit of the day. It would be like an outfit of the month!!!! “And today’s outfit of the season which you will basically see it various forms throughout the entire summer…” my youngest has an iPhone 15 by the way. And my oldest just bought an entire underwear wardrobe from Skims because apparently they fit the best. Don’t mind me in my yoga pants from four years ago.

Rebecca I completely agree with your assessment of the LE skin tint. I was so disappointed I don’t think I’ll be trying any new completion releases from her brand.I actually don’t need any skin tints. So I ended up holding off on the hourglass face tint. I do love their lip sticks and the glossy lip balms. Hourglass face powder is amazing. It never looks cakey or dry. And, I love how it dispenses. I think people were angry with the price and the shape of the shadows. Also, I think I remember people saying the shadows weren’t magnetized making it difficult to put them into a Z Palette or something similar. But, I do remember the quality got pretty good reviews. I’ve tried all sorts of bits and bobs from Hourglass and have enjoyed what I’ve purchased. For me their standout products are their powders. And, I have to add, I’m a real sucker for their face palettes. I hope you’re feeling better. Love your hair today!❤❤❤❤❤

Hi lovely Rebecca !! I love using Hourglass products , I know the shadows are expensive but I loved them and worth the money to me personally. I currently have dim infusion blush , and powder , nude bronze light bronzer. I have hit pan on the eyeshadows . I will repurchase them again when I find a discount code 😊. I would like to try the tint and lip liner ❤🤗

I have a love hate relationship with hourglass. Their face powders are incredible but I hate their lack of diversity i. those palettes, which is odd because they seem to be inclusive in other areas of their makeup offerings(foundation and concealer), so I’m perplexed with the face palettes. Like you, I’m not going. from palette to palette. I’m a love the one you picked out to use person and that includes eye shadows too. I’m not bringing in a companion palette. Although I do keep a ND blackest black single shadow or an old UD brown single shadow out on my dressing table just in case I need a deepening shade. Well I take that back because I have the Sydney Grace Coffee something or another out for those cool palettes that are missing a cooler BUT deeper brown, which is why a lot of brown skinned or deeper completed folks often take issue with cool tone palette because they are missing the deep but cool depending or transitioning shades. I digress. Anyhow, I have some favorites and they include most of the same ones you mentioned: primer ( thankful no SPF or exhaustive list of transformative claims…i’m talking about you, Charlotte 😂), eye and lip liner( some of the best in the market. I put them up against my other favorites ND and PML), their face palettes(nothing like them), and their loose face powder…AMAZING!! Just because someone makes a face palette, it doesn’t mean it is comparable to Hourglass! I haven’t really ventured into their lipsticks but I have tried their gloss and it’s nice but not worth the cost. While I wasn’t rage baiting lien folks were when shadow palettes came out, even as much as I love high end and luxury shadows, I couldn’t justify the cost. Didn’t they also release a skin care line that was equally as expensively off putting? I loved this video and I thought about how even with all the frustration (valid concerns) tossed their way and a relatively small amount of products, their quality has never changed, which I really appreciate. Now if they start offering some more inclusive powder palettes 😬

And even when the world complained… Even when people were boycotting the products because of it, they didn’t really say anything and they never really addressed it. Very strange. Oh my goodness, yes, I remember the skincare line. I never tried it. I don’t think anyone tried it. It was just obnoxiously expensive and I think it faded away into silence

Hello, My favorite Hourglass products are in the following order: The bronzer in Nude Bronze Light - it's so perfect for me that I don't need another bronzer. The scattered light mono eyeshadows - so easy to apply, so kind to eyes and skin (which is very important for me) and although so simple you get compliments and I find eyeshadows most beautiful when they glitter :-) and in third place the matte lipsticks . These are the products I use the most. Regarding the price in general, I would like to say that on the one hand there are brands that are more expensive (where nobody gets upset?) and on the other hand that I bought all the products in the sale ;-) For me, the price of this brand is justified by the fact that it uses high-quality ingredients that do not irritate my sensitive skin - which is not a matter of course and important for me. Cheap products that irritate my skin and eyes do absolutely nothing for me. So I limit myself to a few good products. One product from Hourglass that was unfortunately disappointing for me was Caution Extreme Lash Mascara, not because of the formulation but because of the brush and the tube. Too much product comes out, the brush doesn't work on naturally long lashes. I have better mascaras that are cheaper. All the best for you, Maria

I liked their lip glosses & blush in Mood Exposure. A while back in my endless search for a cool toned plum blush one of the community members suggested it. I can't remember who it was (Annemarie?) but it is a lovely blush!! 💜 As for the lip glosses I have two but see they're not sold at Sephora anymore. I wonder if they're being discontinued? I like Hourglass enough but think it is overpriced. Never tried their powders, foundation or eyeshadows 🤔 those $29 eyeshadows!! 🤣🤣🤣

I actually don't use my jelly fish pallette as much as I used my massive single of DIM light I think there's something to be said for just being able to grab a powder and not worry about using a small brush or mixing the colours. I like the veil primer - I really want to try the finishing spray bit don't know if it's worth it. For me the curator pallettes were just clunky design. If they'd been more smoothly done like the finishing power shapes etc I'd find the whole concept more appealing. I also dislike the work curate when it comes to makeup- it's not a museum. (Unless it's in a museum)

You know what’s funny, those shadows never went on sale. So someone must of been buying them. My issue is Hourglass had to be peer pressured into making colors for deeper skin . Before that bothered me but then I thought they have the right to choose their audience.

In my opinion Hourglass is one of the most overpriced brands. The average quality of their products and the very cheap looking packaging made me stay away from this brand. Their eyeshadows are by far the worst. In Australia each shade is $48 and the case (for 3 shades) is $23. Let’s pretend you buy 4 shades and the separate case is for 4 colours instead of 3. Total price is $215 for a quad. Because is refillable when you buy just the 4 shades in order to refill the cost is $192. A Hermes quad is $175 and is refillable. When you get the refill is $110. I think I’ll stick with Hermes because it’s cheaper.🤣🤣🤣 I have 4 eye brushes from Hourglass. They were my first high end brushes and I don’t use them anymore because I have many fude brushes now. But I also have Rae Morris brushes (vegan, handcrafted in Japan vs Hourglass brushes- China factory). The price for each eye brush is slightly higher than the Hourglass but the difference in quality is huge. At the end of the day it’s a matter of choice/taste and if you think it’s worth it to spend the money for Hourglass makeup and this makes you happy it’s nothing wrong about it. 🙂
