My G Scale train layout update. Making small progress!

Making a little progress when I can. I don't get a lot of time to work on the layout and when I do have limited train time, I like to run trains. Which means, I'm not working on the layout.
So, I decided if I can work on a section of the layout that doesn't impede rail traffic, then I will work on the layout and run a train! haha.
Huge shout out to the guys that can build a layout in a year or sometimes less. I don't know how you do it. I swear every project on my layout takes at least twice as long to complete. If I think I can get it done in a weekend, then it's at least two weekends. Seriously. lol.
Part of the problem is it takes an hour to get to the nearest lowes/home depot/menards. I live in the middle of no where. haha.!

Been watching your layout for a bit now. For the sheer size I'd say you are making great progress. 👍 I think it looks fantastic. Wish I lived close, so I could come run mine... LOL

Thank You!! Since you've been watching, then you know that this wasn't my original plan. haha!!!! The railroad just sorta took off. I actually have more of a plan now with how it's expanding. It's just going to take a few years.

Thanks Marty! One of those KCS hoppers was one of yours back in the day. I still have the TOFC cars and run them as well.

Hello! Great layout. I've been looking through your videos because I need to raise my track above the landscaping just like you have your G Scale CSX coal train on the new mainline expansion running above your grass. Around the 1:18 mark of the G Scale CSX coal train on the new mainline expansion video, you get a good look at your raised track. Can you explain what you did and what you used to get it raised like that? Thank you so much!

Thanks!! I am using revolution to control them. My new AML engines that I will be picking up soon will have Railpro in them.

Curious how do you do the track wiring/switch wiring for such a long run?

I am all battery power. The majority of my engines have batteries in them, the one's that don't, I put a battery in a trailing car right behind the engine. I can put multiple trains down and not have to worry about the track.
