oh man I had the best one in D3, was someone who took "left always goes" way too literal. he ff'ed and flamed after I didn't go for a kickoff. I was infront of net, he was diagonal right..... Apparently because i'm leftmost, I should have went and obviously we conceded since he went for boost and I was left in no mans land getting lobbed xD

I didn’t find out about that until C2 or C3. Had a platinum friend tell me about it until then I had always quick chatted it and didn’t think much of it since no one brought it up

I dont think there is right or wrong in quickchatting. For example he and his usual teammate could be doing this all the time it works so its technically right. Or as he mentioned its usualy thing for spanish people so it could work if you have spanish teammate. Leths Wrong is clickbait here but I definitely dont mind, RTSSL is great series and I love his advices and thinking.

@@martinkrajscak4381 Spanish is another type of kickoff, and your analogy is similar to saying someone else might take a different meaning from the acronym “lol” It’s technically possible, but realistically there’s still a correct, widely accepted answer, and you’re just gonna confuse people by treating it differently

Flakes does that too and says that high level players understand but I guess not everyone knows. When he’s in front for kick off will write need boost telling his teammate to go for back corner boost so he’ll lose kick off on purpose. But I’m my opinion writing to your right or to your left is more appropriate and a lot less confusing.

@@theone3337 Those are new quickchats that weren't around when these systems were made. Most people use need boost to say they need boost, and so they will keep need boost. The part where it applies to kickoff saves them from having to replace another quickchat.

I feel like if you think y’all shouldn’t have won because your teammate is making the game difficult, then you shouldn’t go the extra step to win since that’s not fair to the other team who is playing well for their rank. Love the series though!!! Your commentary is immensely helpful

I disagree. The truth is, if you are trying to rank up, you need to play like the rank above. If you cannot keep up with the rank above, you will never get to the rank. Therefore, at this point, Leth kinda needs to play like a GC3/SSL player to rank up. At least that is my take.

@@mainlane6344 to play devils advocate, there is a difference between "you need to play like the rank above" (in gc2 playing like gc3) and actually being 2 ranks higher (ssl). you can try to emulate and grind for the next rank, but actually BEING a higher rank in a lower mmr lobby is different.

Gc1 to low gc2 has been a weird rank the past couple of seasons, filled with players that can’t aerial very consistently and get aggressive towards you for themselves making mistakes. Gc2 players know not to go for boost over the ball but the players lately are a yikes. Honestly haven’t had the feel for playing rocket league because of how bad the state of ranked has been. It’s like a bad mix of boosted players but after passing a couple of games into gc2 the players are consistent.

Was mid gc2 and peaked gc3 last szn, both for the first time and was comfortably in mid gc2, ever since ranked reset I can't get out of gc1 and its fucking killing me. Like how am I supposed to setup my tm8s if they can't even air roll? Not even gamesense aswell I try to cater to them but it ain't happening

A bit confused with the exchange at 12:05 - you said "need boost" means ‘go back corner’ or ‘I'm leading it back corner’ but doesn't a Spanish kickoff typically end up leading the ball towards your own net?

The interaction w/ commentary had me confused - when the other guy said "=s back boost kickoff" I thought he meant "equals Spanish back boost kickoff" and he was delineating between some variant of it that involved the opponent's back boost xD. I see now he really just meant "equals back boost kickoff" and was unequivocally coaching an SSL

For the Need Boost and I got it Quickchat for Kickoffs. Which Side do they force the ball to? Does it depend on the side of the player going for the kickoff? Is it just the opposite of that? Btw: Words are hard
