WHEN Sam started dating Conor in 2020, she was up front about the fact that she's asexual. Speaking to Love Don't Judge, Sam explained: "I don't have any sexual attraction. I still have romantic attraction, but sex is off the table for us. It's not something that's really in our relationship." Speaking about Sam's revelation, Conor remarked: "I was definitely confused at first, it was definitely a journey on educating myself." Giving an insight into how their intimate life looks, Conor admitted: "I would say our intimate sex life is definitely not what society deems as normal," with Sam, agreeing: "Third base is the line with us, that's fine." The pair proudly share their relationship online, but it's not always met positively. Sam said: "I do get a little bit of hate. I get things like, 'So you're a robot' and 'Being with you must be torture'." The couple's friend, Cameron, has also expressed puzzlement in the past, explaining: "I was confused, I didn't know what it was. I was still learning about that stuff and didn't know how you could do that." Remaining unfazed by the judgement, Sam said: "People who judge our relationship need to open their mind a little bit more. Things can be different and the love is still evergrowing."

Even if you're ace, if you really care about your non-ace significant other you would be fine with atleast a handy every once in a while. Relationships require compromises, just because you don't feel any sexual attraction doesn't mean you should just proudly neglect your SOs needs. Without proper communication and guidelines that dictate when/how to meet those needs in a way both parties can be okay with, these guys won't be together much longer 😂 I have an ace friend, and they have a system with their SO where if the non-ace person is feeling frisky they'll ask how they feel about participating on a scale from 1 to 5 (where 1 is absolutely not, a 3 is "im okay with giving you a hand, but no more" and a 5 is "I love you, so im fine with indulging you with some hanky panky right now". They've been together 12 years now, both parties win.

Exactly!! although I have sex, I’d much rather gentle kisses and lying together in bed watching something on the laptop and conversing over that any day tbh it’s not that I don’t love my bf or find him attractive nor is it that he doesn’t please me (far from it) just that if I’m being totally honest sex isnt something I enjoy or feel I need, I could go without it easily as long as I still had that closeness in other ways.

@@elisha1198 this is how I feel except I haven't had sex, I've been with my boyfriend for two years, I do not need that sort of satisfaction and I've spoken to him numerous times because of course I'm worried he may not be satisfied but he always says he's happy and gives me no reason to doubt that. I'm working towards feeling ready to take that step with him, I do need physical affection from my partner but that's more than enough! People need to understand people's perceptions, understanding and experiences when it comes to intimacy are totally different and that's okay!

I'm friends with both Sam and Conor and they both love and care for each other so much. Their relationship is one I genuinely admire and anyone saying that Conor is gonna "change his mind" clearly don't understand what actually loving someone is like. Sex isn't the only part of a relationship. It's a part of it for so many people, but if sex is the main thing in your relationship then how much of an actual connection do you really have? They respect each other's boundaries and I have honestly never been around such a healthy couple in my life.

You’re right that it is just another way to show people how you feel. Second, the comments I was addressing were some I literally saw that said shit about how they couldn’t manage because sex is a main part of their relationship or needs to be. I also haven’t seen or heard of a couple were the majority of it is sex being healthy in the end. I never said I can’t accept it either, but just that there’s so much more to being in a relationship with someone than that. People can do what they want (as long as it’s legal and consensual) but some were saying they were sure he was gonna cheat on her or leave her cause for them sex is too important. I’m also gonna point out that I’m not asexual, but that I don’t need sex to be in a relationship if I truly love and care for the person. It’s not a deal breaker to me.

I just wanna say how refreshing this couple is! I’ve always noticed how sex and love are so often mixed up for people. I’ve known people to end an extremely unhappy relationships and to stay in toxic relationships simply because the s3x was good, even if the person was not. I was always bothered seeing how “love “ is portrayed in media, focusing on the s3xual aspects the most. so it’s extremely refreshing to see a couple who love each other for how their minds interact ,rather than for how their bodies interact. My partner is asexual, we have been together for 4yrs as well! My partner is very open minded though, they make sure my needs are met without crossing their boundaries. Physical touch is a huge thing for me and my partner being asexual is touchy and feely allllll the time! It’s not like they hate smooches or cuddling lol! We just aren’t “doin it” all the time? You both are GORGEOUS individuals, I could feel the good energy when watching this video. I gotta say, I am so happy I met my person. I used to think I was only worth sex, and sex was love.. I don’t think I loved myself for a long time but having another person SEE ME only.. not doing things to “finally” have sex… it made me see myself in such a beautiful way again. It made us and me as an individual stronger.🥰

My husband and I are still relatively young. We aren’t able to have actual sex anymore due to health issues on both our parts. Our relationship is stronger and happier now more than ever ! I think it’s partly due to maturity and partly getting to truly “ Know “ each other…..and that is very sensual. I honestly don’t miss the sex as again, we’ve fallen deeper in love through the years and all the trails and tribulations we’ve gone through and survived, mentally and physically have definitely brought us closer. I totally get how their relationship can work. Everyone is different, you decide what works for YOU, no one else can decide that…..Blessings. 🙏🏼❤️

Sex is not something anyone is entitled to. at all! it is that belief that ruins sexual attraction in some relationships. 'He' may not need to be 'satisfied' in a sexual way, if he does then that is for them to figure it. Its also not fair to say asexual people can't experience love, thats incredibly insensitive. Asexuality is still extremely misunderstood and judged inside and outside the community. I feel like there are so many people that have been pretending to conform to sex for a very long time. I was wondering that. I don't know if id be totally comfortable knowing that im making my partner miss out on something he enjoys. Ya kno. Or even comfortable with myself not being able to give my partner something he wants. Especially something so serious as sex!

Plenty of people have amazing close relationships without sex..love is deeper..you can get sex anywhere, cannot say the same for love. Sex may have it's place but it's not the be all and end all.

They like what they like. You want sex in a relationship, get with someone who values sexual attraction. You don't want sex at all in a relationship, get with an asexual or someone that doesn't care for sexual intimacy. Both sides win and respect each other's choices. They seem happy and that's that. I'm not an asexual man (sexual attraction is a thing for me) but I also know everyone likes what they like and as long as no one is hurt that who cares.

My boyfriend is what I would call A-sexual adjacent. He doesn't think about sex or dwell on it in any type of way. He could easily go without it altogether and it wouldn't phase him. However, he is fine with being intimate when I'm feeling like I need to feel that connection. I never correlated love and sex prior to being with him. Now, it's not just some physical release, it is a means of intimacy for both of us. I say adjacent because he does enjoy it when it happens, he just doesn't ever initiate it because it doesn't occur to him. He doesn't.. umm.. do anything.. to himself, like a typical male or even person in general would. Being with him has made me rethink my entire mindset surrounding sex and intimacy. Before him, I never would have thought I could have a relationship where sex wasn't half the relationship in itself. Anyway.. so I can totally relate to these two. I think this is much more commonplace than anyone realizes. The comments they were reading are entirely based in ignorance... But I wouldn't have really understood before I was in it myself.

your boyfriend sounds a lot like me, I'm questioning asexual but I don't feel I fully tick the box because I am okay with being intimate but I don't go out of my way to do it, I still feel uncomfortable with the idea of going all the way with my current boyfriend (who I've dated for two years) but that's for a few personal reasons I don't want to put out on the internet, I will eventually become intimate with him or if we split someone else, how does your boyfriend identify if at all? I feel a little lost in all of it because I thought my understanding and experience of sexuality was the norm when it's not, I am not sexually attracted to people at all I'm very indifferent and I've spent most of my life trying to manipulate myself into thinking I am and I'm not sure how to approach this with my boyfriend, if you know anything about it I think it would be beneficial!

I was in a sort of third base sexless relationship for 7 years and stayed in the relationship because of love. Eventually, I needed more so the relationship ended. They seem happy. More power to them for making it work.

Any two people can have sex and it means nothing. I think it’s great they have been able to develop something special that works for them. So what if they aren’t having sex that’s not what love and a relationship is based on.

Lets stop it right there. Sex is not the be all end all of a flippin relationship (for some it can be). I have been married to my husband 24 years we have been together 30. We have not had relations in over 10 years. Our relationship is built on friendship first. In our defense it is not that we are not sexually attracted to one another it is everything else. We are older/ I have a lot of medical issues my hips slip out of place and my back is horrific. Heck one time i straddled my husbands waist to pop his back because he was hurting and i threw my back out. Sex to me really is to procreate and we never wanted kids. Also if we want to get off we know how to take care of ourselves. I told my husband in the very beginning i hated sex it is extremely painful for me plus he knew about my abusive childhood and why sex was never important to me.

I'm a bit confused... If sex == love as most would claim, then why do people use others for sex and then discard them afterwords? *"She's not into sex, that doesn't mean she can't let him have sex. If you love someone, you will do shit you aren't into"* Then it's intercourse out of obligation, which is not consensual since he *may* want to do it, but she doesn't. Seriously, why are you people so desperate for sex with partners that you'll go about as far out to getting it even when it isn't consensual? (and can count as SA)

Sensuality is a spectrum, with hills and valleys. No one should do something they're not comfortable doing, at the moment its 3rd base and it will probably stay that way. As long as they both consent to an asexual relationship, good for them. People dont change for other people and trying to change them never ends well for either person. Hope it works out for them

My own wife turned out asexual. We've been together for nearly 20 years. The biggest challenge in our relationship isn't the sex, and we do have sex now and then. It's the fact that she just won't kiss me properly and I can't keep her in my arms more than 1-2 seconds. This girl in the video seems to kiss him and is able to be really romantic and affectionate to him. I can 100% guarantee you that he's better off with her than with my wife. Much less likely to cheat down the road too. I cheated twice on her in the last 10 years. It wasn't for the sex. It was because I was missing the kissing and making out, the girl kissing me back, waking up in bed with her, then kissing her while tenderly stroking her hair, etc. I never actively pursue women, but when a girl shows interest, it's very very difficult for me to say no. My romantic needs are simply not being met in my current relationship.
