I do the bucket toilet also, but I use 8 gal bags and each time I knot the bag closed afterwards and put the bag in a diaper genie. It eliminates any smell and works great. I use a minimal amount of pine pellets to absorb the liquid instead of kitty litter. It's cheap and I like it much better and you only need a very small amount. good setup. I think the best idea I saw for camp shower (and there are youtube vids on it): take a garden sprayer (those 2 gallon ones with the pump handle on top), then you can modify the sprayer that comes with it, cut it off and replace with a basic kitchen sink 'gun' type sprayer. And paint it black maybe to absorb more sunlight. If the provided hose is too short you could likely find a suitable replacement at HD or Lowes. I really like the ezup camp cube. I'm not sure if those existed when I got my Coleman 6 person popup tent back in 2015--but the vertical walls would be awesome, definitely the way to go for comfy camping. I have the disc-o-bed bunks which I've used with my son--but they are a beast to set up and even a single bunk is really heavy to deal with so I think your current cot setup is undoubtedly best for you. And I found a nicely priced inflatable camp mattress at costco that works great on the disc-o-bed, makes it more comfortable than not having it.

I haven't gone camping yet as I am still trying to figure out how to pack everything I need into my small Ford Fiesta Hatchback and a large dog too....!😏 I have a Folding Commode for inside my tent in the corner. Watching you set up in a previous video....I know I got this ! ! I am going to see if I can start eliminating things I can do without.... One frying skillet, one pot to boil water and cook in etc.I need room for that dog ...! 🐾❤️🐾

Ok, you get a Girl Scout badge! Very clever! I use the Hiker shower which is basically a two liter bottle with a sprinkle head. Same concept and it works great.

At our local farm store they have pine kitty litter, basically kitty litter made with finer shaved wood chips. Lighter than the light weight kitty litter in the jug you have (we've used it). Once your jug is empty you can refill it with the pine chips which is more environmentally friendly. Please use a dump station or dump your bags in the camp toilets! Don't just put them in the garbage! Imagine being a garbage collector and stumbling upon a split bag!!

Kitchen trash compacter bags are the most durable waste bags on the grocery shelves. One can also use chicken 'granule' feed to help. It is much lighter than kitty litter!

I, too, do a bucket toilet, for all the same reasons you said. My Loo is kept in a storage ottoman with all related supplies. Instead of kitty litter I use large sanitary pads ($ Tree store) to line the bottom. The toilet is also where I put my trash, cause why not? It won’t plug up the plumbing! Haha Like you, I carry the toilet bag within another ‘stealth bag’ when going to the trash center each day. Thanks for sharing.

Some great ideas you have here! I think it would be useful to mention checking local municipal waste rules with regard to whether toilet waste for composting is acceptable. It seems a shame to throw it away into landfill when it can be used to replenish soil after treatment. Having my history as a cat care specialist, I know there are many different litter selections and some are more environmentally friendly than others. Some do not need fragrance as the litter effectively deals with odour on its own. Ideally, something chemical-free, and easy to use is important. I have used highly absorptive pine-based litter with great success. For shorter stays, I can pack it out and dispose of it in the green bin when I get home. Thank you again for your great ideas!

I use one that's more like a round bucket that has a detachable seat and lid with 2 garbage bags and cat litter. Going with the extra bag prevents leaks. But we toss mine in the campground dumpster. ***edit*** Just to be on the safe side I started using 3 bags.

just be careful. it's illegal to dump mixed(solid/liquid) human waste in trash, and I doubt dump stations want trash bags in their systems. That's why poo powder exists, once solidified trash is an option. Check with local laws as EVERY place is different. It's funny cause this is almost the exact same setup I have, same toilet and pop up. We use a cheap bucket shower immersion pump and boil water to make the rest warm.
