It's great that you both ride together and really seem to enjoy your time out! Love the real, that you bring to the channel. Don't sweat the hard stuff. Why risk it when help would be so far away? My wife broke her leg one winter cross-country skiing down a narly hill and I had to ski 3 miles out to a road to get help (fire deptment). Fortunately my son was with her to keep her warm so she wouldn't go into shock. Always weigh the risks and judge accordingly is my moto! Be safe you guys. Keep on doing what you do. Cheers from Canada.

That single-track looks fun, make sure to let out some air so it won't feel so bumpy and loose, but in person I'm sure it's worse❤ yup that looks like a long decent good call on bailing out😊

Hey there! Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment. That single-track was a blast until out wasn't😄. I appreciate the tip about letting out some air to improve the ride. I'm glad you enjoyed watching it. If you have any more suggestions or want to see more content like this, feel free to let me know. Your feedback is always appreciated! Happy trails!

I have a dropper post on my cx bike, helps for steep descents to get it out the way. Would just be conscious of my discs getting toasty doing that one you looked at, would probably get the 180mm discs on, for my bike at least. Looks like fun terrain to ride, more rugged than we get in the UK.

Thanks for sharing your experience with a dropper post on your CX bike! I see how it would come in handy for steep descents and you're absolutely right about being cautious with the discs; upgrading to 180mm discs sounds like a smart move. I would love to ride in the UK! Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your valuable insights!

Great ride this day! Very beautiful! I’ve spent time up there but ridden very little. I’d like to do more. I’m curious how you rallied for that second day. Nutrition? Hydration? Rest? Some days I just don’t have it and I’m not sure why. I’m not nearly as strong a rider and quite a bit older but still….

Thanks so much for watching. We're glad you enjoyed the ride! Nutrition, hydration, and rest play crucial roles. We went to sleep early after the first day, we must have had about 9 hrs of sleep. We each had two 17oz bottles of water during the ride and we made sure to drink tons after the first day and before we started the ride. On the morning of the second day we both had big bowls of oats with fruit and sugar. We carried tons of snacks like Maurten Solid bars, drink mixes, Scandinavian Swimmers, and other snack bars. Snacking on nutritious foods and staying hydrated can make a big difference. It's completely normal to have days where you don't feel as strong. I suggest to listen to your body and to not push yourself too hard on those days. As for age, I think age is just a number, and there are plenty of older riders who excel and enjoy cycling. It's all about finding your pace and what brings you joy on the bike!

You can't really do SLO in just two days. There is so much more, so many more exciting, challenging, relaxing, cheese and bottle of wine rides that 48 hours just can't accomplish. come back, make some gravely pals and learn how SLO is a wonderland to what the national park has to offer! Come Back. In the 90s I use to do the RailRoad trail on my road bike!!!! Great stuff up there.

You're right! Two days in SLO are just a glimpse of the wonders it has to offer. There's so much more to explore, I'll definitely plan to come back!
