Hi, long time no see! I hope you're keeping warm and cozy this holiday season. The days are super short and dark where I live- so I thought it would be helpful to show you what growlights I use to help my plants continue to grow and thrive throughout the winter months. So helpful Hanie, thank you for this video. I think my next lights will now be Rousseau. I have the Soltech's, which I love but I like the colour temperature of the Rousseau more.

Wow, sounds like you have a challenge growing topicals up there in Canada. It's hard enough for us in Missouri with only 5 months of bad winter weather to deal with. But all that said, I love having the tropicals inside in brightly lite rooms during the dark winter months. Very calming and relaxing. Thanks for sharing your setup!

Really useful, thank you! I'm in North West UK and light is an absolute nightmare here for 6 months too. Just bought the 36w Sansi and I've been looking at the Aspect, I'll have to invest soon. Your cats and apartment are beautiful too!

Being now darker nights in the U.K. now I purchased two Garpsen LED Plant Grow Light, Full Spectrum Grow Lights for Indoor Plants, 315 LEDs . This is my first year I started buying real plants 🪴 and these are my first ever grow lights. I also ordered two sets, had them on last night & WOW the amount of light coming out is excellent.

Just love this VD so stunning and everything and you have no furniture unless this is a different part of the house ha ha thank you for this video. Can you please please do a video on your soil mix? Your plant tour video popped up in my feed and I loved it. But want to know about the soil mix you use AND your plant pots. The plastic trellis, grow thickly moss poles, and the trellis that was in your Philodendron Ghost terracotta pot. Please do videos on these.

Hanie, super job on your lighting video. One of the most comprehensive with all the information we need for an intelligent decision. Is that a Sinningia leucotricha next to you Phyllanthus mirabilis? If it is I have recently added two to my collection. I like the above ground tuber with the fuzzy silver leaves and its hallmark salmon tubular flowers. A truly unique plant for those of us that like the unusual!

The PPFD that these companies list really doesn't mean anything because this all changes depending on how far the plant is from the light source. I really liked the fact that you started off using a light meter to compare the FC of similar lights, but why did you stop doing that?

Hi! I wouldn’t recommend it for veggies and fruits because they will quickly outgrow it!

Any idea of how expensive it’s to power all these indoor grow lights? There is a device called KillAWatt that can measure it.

I knew I should have looked up videos before buying them. I bought some grow lights on amazon but its about the size of say a desk light because I only need a small one for my succulent. It was only $14, so now looking at your lights. Is it possible it might just be a desk light and I shouldn’t rely on it? It is describe on amazon as a grow light though.

Hopefully if it’s described as a growlight then it is one! Normal lights work for plants as well but just not as efficiently :)

That Soltech literally just looks like the bulbs with a large pvc pipe surrounding it... Good to know I can save $200 on that one haha

So the mother light isn’t as warm as the Soltech light? I was thinking about doing some overhead lighting in my room and the mother strip would be great but I don’t want a super cool color. Soltech is so nice. It’s like the perfect lighting in my place.

That’s right, Soltech is the warmest! The Mother light isn’t super cool though, it is just a neutral white :)

Depends on where in Canada! Where I live it gets really dry and dark and cold so not super ideal🥲

Wow, that is way too much money to spend on bulbs! You can get GE Full Spectrum LED bulbs for super cheap compared to those!

You totally can! I had that one before as well and it was effective but visually too cool-toned and harsh for my liking. Just personal preferences though, and that's a great budget bulb if that's what you're after! 💚

@@soleilrium Hmm, mine have never been cool-toned. It all depends on the 'Kelvin'. Yeah I wouldn't like blue tone either. Mine have always been a beautiful white.

Even white light can be warm toned or cool toned (just like the growlights I showed in my video)! :). It’s just that I personally prefer a warmer tone (3-4000 Kelvins) for my indoor ambiance as I find it cozier and less harsh on my eyes.

it's micro-mol. not u-mol. the greek letter is miu. Micromole μmol/s (micromole) is the unit in which P.A.R. is expressed. This unit indicates how many micromoles per second a light source emits. μmol/s is one-millionth of a mol (10−6 mol).
