As a Methodist I'm getting more Catholic books and watching catholic KZfaq this is beutifull

My house is full of catholic sacramentals inside and out. Yes, we need holy reminders of our spiritual family.

The statues and images of Jesus, Mary, and the saints are things Catholics do not worship. They are a reminder that these holy people exist. For example pictures of our love ones or family.

Thank you for sharing this I am setting up a combination prayer room / office and this was very inspiring. I was touched by your memorial to your children in heaven. God bless

It's correct that Catholics do not worship the statues/pictures of Jesus or Mary. They are just external images of someone we hold dear in our hearts. Almost all of us have pictures of our loved ones in our homes. Some are known to even have busts or statues of people made and kept in their homes/public places as reminders of them. Do we worship these pictures/ statues? I do not think so. Why then should non catholics presume that we worship the statues/pictures of Jesus and Mary.

What a beautiful space ❤️ I have a ton of candles on my altar,a little statue of Our Lady, and holy water,and an extra rosary and extra scapular. I keep my crucifix in my bedroom. Your doggie is so cute 🐕

Our yia~yia passed & , being Greek, she always had the tradition of having a shrine...But, yeah beautiful....& I connected w/& have a lot of what u use & or believe. You started breaking up(*I heard it)...& I'm the same way, you seem very emotional which means you have a loving spirit! Mary is one of my spirit guides...I have some spiritual gifts & I truly have encounters w/her daily. That is AWESOME you have those Rosary beads from your, aunt(?), which was a nun...I felt a lot of energy from that! & I loved the ceramic Mary! All of it....xxoo

I actually like your altar. I created a altar at my church but I would like to take it another level. This is a great video. My grandmother Victoria gave me a Rosary for Christmas and it was so sacred to me. Somebody broke it intentionally but I like the way you incorporated it into your altar. I wanted to find the right Rosary to incorporate it into mines.

Absolutely lovely! I have home altar too and have had it for the last 7 years. Am not Catholic but love the church and all about it. So I have many rosaries ( and use them) and involve my husband. It started by people giving me things from time to time and each time it was a lovely Cross with Jesus and it opens and inside you can take your Holy Water and candles to open it and out candles up and use it for communion , but use it for prayers for those ill . Then a blanket with the Virgin Mary and it just goes on and on and have several icons and all at once I realized what was going on! My husband bought a lovely Pieta when in Italy while in the Navy many years ago ( we have been married 50 yrs this Sept. So stil have it. and it goes on and on and just feel that the Lord is talking to me and I did not see it coming. I grew up Protestant and became a minister and then realized everyone seemed to buy me Catholic items and I totally feel led to pray rosary and attend Catholic masses, and so my husband agrees ( something is going on and we had best notice it!) Love your altar and how you have explained it. Great idea with the prayer requests set in basket and placed to read and pray over them . I love that quiet time at the altar. just wish I had started this when my sons were young, and they are now grown and did pray with them ,and go to church with them, in the Protestant church, and with grandchildren too. But this is a very sacred time. Very important though for the husbands to take part if possible along with the children sometimes ( when you have a family as such) together to help them see how this works and they can feel how great it is to take this time each day. It helps one to settle down before bed , rest the mind and remember our Lord is in charge of it all. ( Just a little extra idea that I truly think is a helpful and fun thing to do this as a family at some point each day.

Wao!!! Totally LOVED your Altar!!! I do have one too! But I love that much, having “our” blessed little corner, that I’m getting to turn the space below the stairs of my home, into an Altar too! 🤣 In this case, I’m dreaming of making it look as a micro church! I already emptied it! I’m cutting some egg cardboard holders into flowers, and plan to make kind of a special golden holder for my Sacred Heart of Jesus, which belonged to my grandmother’s granny! It does not have any artistic value, since it is only A lithograph, machine made, but given the love all my grands have had for it, I’d like to install Him in a Special place! Also, I LOVE the Saints images and Rosaries, etc, and its kind of weird to transform my home decoration in kind of a “church-wannabe”🤣, so I decided to reduce the spread of images to “A” special place where to pray, “be” with Him, honor him and a place “just for the two of us” ...well! Of course, anyone will be most than allowed to go and have their “moment”! Moreover will be invited to go and take the chance to enjoy such a spoiling from my beloved Heaven Daddy Who dedicates such a blessing with this ordinary daughter (me) hihihiihi well! Blessings for all! And please remember, not to leave to that final moment the time to remember there’s a Lord who created us, who helps us in ways we do not know, but that will be waiting to ask us if we thought about where to spend our afterlives! I am 100% sure that when protestants/evangelicals close their eyes and raise their hands and worship/pray to our LORD JESUS, Catholics helped them shaped the images of our LORD JESUS in their imagination and contemplation making sure that they are addressing the right person. Otherwise, to whom would they borrow an almost accurate imagination of CHRIST but to the images of Catholics, is it not?!z... It would be an insult to Christ if the images of Elvis or Michael Jackson imprints their imagination while calling the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
