Hello folkes,
A few old photos popped up on my Google photo albums, & a few of them were when we built the spray room 2 years ago.
It made me reminisce a bit and it spurred me on to make a revisited video.
So here it is, showing you how I use the room now after 2 years, what I've changed and what I've kept. Also showing you how the spray room has faired over the time....
Enjoy
Ryan

Hey Ryan Thanks for taking the time to share another great and very informative video👍👊 Just one question, I'm thinking about buying a fireball heater like your one, but a bit confused on weather its needs ventilation cause of the c02. Do you keep your fans on and door open when using the heater.?
@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop

No worries David 👍 Yes generally I'll have a door open at least even if I'm not spraying. It never smells fumey and never really had any problems. Really helps with the drying times though 😁

In this video, there is a clear distinction from your spray both to your drying racks. Why is there clean paint line around the entire Spray both, walls and ceiling? What is there when you paint? I'm trying to accomplish the same cohesive separation in a small space while maximizing the workspace. Glad to hear about that. Thank you!

Thank you. I just use a diesel/kerosene space heater. The make of mine is SIP and paid around £250 for it. Works really well and heats the room up in minutes 👍

Hi buddy great video, I’m just building a spray room in my workshop, with the fans, are they just mounted on an outside wall so they extract outward?
@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop

They are mounted in the inside, and a hole cut out in the wall to vent outside. Links to the fans I use are in the video description 👍

I've tried spraying booth lots of times and compared finishes and there really isn't anything in it. So I generally stick to normal mdf unless in a kitchen or bathroom 👍

Could I ask exactly what Wickes paint you use please. Just about to buy a Greco and want a bomb proof finish. Great videos and as a DIY er (don't shoot me down) have given me the knowledge and confidence to give building an alcove unit a go.

Hi any silk emulsion will do, I use wickes trade but any should do as long as its not a value brand. Absolutely brilliant you are giving it a go, if you need any help let.me know. I think the graco gx21 is a good entry level sprayer. Buying a graco is definitely a good investment over a Wagner etc. This paint is very tough, the paint on my workshop walls and ceiling are white silk and have lasted 7 year very well and take a good beating!

About to make something similar, but I have only one gate, so really need to think about ventilation... Ive got gx21 for now, after you advised airless... Earlier Ive heard about 1200psi from you, but today you said 1800, is it because of tails on the edge you decided to rise pressure?
@alibuilder8949

Same story, I have garage 2.5m to 4.5, one side twin slot shelving and other side paint booth, I thought about blowers but I have only gate...
@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop 3 жыл бұрын
The gx21 is perfect for small jobs, it just has a smaller pump than my 695. If your not constantly spraying then your fine. Re pressure, start low, possibly 1200, then work your way up if you are spraying tails or a bad pattern. I could probably spray lower than 1800 i guess that is just a rough figure.

Also 1 fan is fine, they are really powerful the 400 mm ones. You could always go bigger too. I have a link to them if yiu are buying one

@@samrix5793 definitely need heat in this weather. Decent racks, nice and flat and support your whole work piece and good ventilation. Im thinking use a 3m x 3m pop up gazebo that clicks up in a few minutes and you can get sides for them too. For the floor use a tarp?

Hi yes, the white finish is. Just build up with light coats, 3 coats in total should do, dry your paint a quick as possible if you have a heater to stop grain raising as much and de-nib at least once with p240 on the orbital 👍
