Because it’s simply more fun. It all comes to weight and handling. No modern car can be this chuckable while also being this size. They have more power and are much more capable in every aspect, but nothing beats the feel of an old school light weight, no nonsense little car.

With a 5 speed manual gearbox, the forth or fifth gear is called a prise directe. That means the incomming shaft in the gearbox (from engine) runs the same rpm as the outgoing shaft (to the wheels). 1-3 or 4 are reductions. That's why the rev gauge and speedometer are synced.

90s Hondas are closest you can get to a proper racecar for a fraction of a price. (Back in the day, now they getting expansive😂) Balanced power a high revving N/A engine and advanced suspension for the time and even todays standards (Double wishbone in the front and independent trailing arms in the back) a stiff and light chassis is a recipe for a great performing car. Glad seeing Hondas are getting the recognition they deserve here in German car dominating Europe. A propere drivers car with all the feels and thrills. Pure emotion and soul what alot of cars dont have.

JDM = manufactured according to japanese regulations and sold in japan, not any car from japan, which this car obviously is not, since it's left-hand drive.

Loving this content guys!! Can't go wrong with a K20A in an EG. Please fit the carbon bonnet + 76mm exhaust as well as 205/50/15 tyres for better traction off the line to improve your 0-100 times too. Rims I'd go with Spoon SW388's.

My VW Polo has 205/55/15 tyres and it's very good even when we got snow here in the UK a few months ago it did not struggle at all it was completely fine where other fwd cars and a lot of rwd and some awd cars got stuck

I will run 225/45r15 will handle 100 times better than a 205. Or a 225/50r15.

Imo it's perfect. It's got plenty of power for how much it weight it has. Maybe a little more but a turbo will take away from being able to drive the shit out of it in lower gears. I had a EK hatch w. B18C swap from an Integra GSR. It was always a blast to drive!

That shifter is art in motion. Love the featherlight EG civics, much respect for those that engine swap to create a sleeper to be reckoned with. All about having a lighter chassis with good power than a bloated one with more power, that usually ends up being slower and not nearly as fun to drive.

Me too. I loved holding it at about 4k in 2nd or 3rd and just booting it. I loved the sound. I wanted to sort the steering and tires, which my gf did by selling it and buying a Ka. We broke up a year later

2 of the best mods you can do right now would be to install a shorter final drive (Spoon 5.3 is great) and a limited slip diff like a Quaife and it'll accelerate amazingly, loads of response and grip through corners with the nose tucking in and pulling you out.

Yea limited slip dif in a Honda like this is night and day difference. I built a single cam d16 and trubo'd it and when I put a lsd in it omg it became a completely different monster. So much power put to the ground it was unbelievable

This is basically the setup I want for my '99 ek hatchback with the exception of a few details. It is strange how the steering is set up in yours though. Maybe how this this generation of the cars is as I have driven an eg. My steering is very direct so it could be an improvement. Great content!

I miss my Hondas alot. That's a nice hatch. I drive a Cadillac CT5 these days. I want one of these again in the future, their so much fun to drive, and that B & K series VTEC sound, ahh ❤, music to the ears when built up & tuned properly like the one you have.

I had to sell my '92 in order to fit a second car seat. I miss it so bad. The guy turned it into a show car and lives in the area. I get to see it on the road from time to time. That is a blessing and a curse. At least my kids are cool too. LOL

While the exhaust may be restrictive and requires an upgrade, having a quieter exhaust isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’d rather hear that wonderful Honda induction noise instead of an obnoxious ricer exhaust that overwhelms everything. I’d try to find an exhaust that sounds refined but with a nice bark.

Used to own an EG, stripped out mostly besides the seats, door panels, and dash with essentially racing suspension, lots of Mugen parts with others from hybrid racing, RCrew, Hondata, etc… Best investment I’ve ever made, the amount of performance the car had on smaller roads and mountain roads was unmatched. I could seriously outrun nearly every supercar I went up against on tight roads. K20A2 swap, 275hp, 2170ish pounds, there’s really nothing else you need to have fun, you don’t even need 300hp. You’re gonna love this car more and more as the upgrades come flowing in down the road.

Honestly i would recomend to spend some money on this car to bring it to great condition. I would personaly modify and revatalise the interior first and then buy a new exaust. If you make it a good channel project you guys are going to have so much fun with it. The aftermarket is great with these cars i bet you guys can build a beast. Great buy have fun with the car guys

I had a 2017 civic si that I absolutely loved, had to get a bigger car to support two child seats backwards for infants so had to let her go. I remember racing a Cobalt SS in Mexico and got him in the top end by a couple cars, lane lines in the road were almost solid, and the vtec throaty intake nose gave me goosebumps, my Mexican passenger was gripping the door with whit knuckles but still rooting for me to keep going. Around town though in stop an’ go traffic was not nearly as fun with only 140 lbs ft of torque to the flywheel, minivan were dusting me. Those NA Honda engine are a dream on the HWs though.

so cool to see you love this It would be nice if you raceprep this thing. Strip everything (carpeting, insulation, dampening, dashboard should save 100kg+ easily) and add a rollbar maybe for safety. It doesnt need more hrsprs but even less weight :). And that 3 inch exhaust ofc. But leave the turbo?

Voor die uitlaat zou je echt naar EPS Uitlaten moeten gaan in Kiel Windeweer, heb daar mijn uitlaat laten doen van mn Audi A4 1.8T, klinkt super, alle montagepunten zijn custom gemaakt zodat ze in de orginele rubbers passen en uitlaat hangt er spanningsvrij onder (RVS is daar nog wel gevoelig voor)

Love Honda Civics! I used to have one(Not this monster, but a more new driver friendly one 1.6l 2004 version, used one, and it was my first car) I had it for 6 years without major problems at all, and keep in mind that I made 4!!!! 4 trips from UK to Hungary... 4 trips! 1800km 8 times... Only thing that had some problems(after the 2nd trip) was the clutch(I think it was my fault.. I mean I think I killed it, so I needed to change the clutch) but nothing else... Just love Honda Civics!

3 inch exhaust, DeatscheWerks injectors, ktuned fuel rail,Hondata would see a healthy gain on about 19 degrees ignition timing my old RSX made 273whp back in 2016. k20/k24 bottom end.

@@DashCamSerbia not really, needs a 205 wide on some R888's or NT01's to hook. 300whp all motor is basically standard. id say this around 225-235whp that extra 60whp and better tire compound would probably get the 100-200 in the 10sec area vs 13
