The part about asking the fans, it actually happened....in the very beginning, pre-covid, I received a passholder survey and it was a very lengthy one. I believe it took me almost an hour to complete. The comments today weren't a dig at Disney, they asked us and they delivered! I can't wait for 2025!

I just pray this park is much more plus sized friendly than the CA counterpart, because no one likes waiting in line for an hour only to find your bust or belly or both are too big to ride.

This is beyond exciting. I still wish we got like a Retroland that brought reimaginings of older Universal properties like Jaws,Kong, Back the the future etc. a throwback land so to speak

That would have been EPIC so to speak. Maybe if enough of us keep voicing that opinion repeatedly, then Universal will tack on another land in the future (not necessarily at Epic Universe, but to one of the parks) and bring that dream to life. We clearly see that Universal actually listens to what fans want.

The most exciting part for me was having the hotel in the park. Immersive experience. They should have a themed hotel in each “land”. Then that would be something!!

Agree. Rumor is the 1st expansion to Epic is going to be the Great Hall dining experience, which will be strange placement but Magic will work it out 😂. A themed Hogwarts hotel would be huge

This is exciting news. Our family trip to Disneyword included 4 days at Universal. Everyone in the group absolutely loved the Universal days. They definitely are stepping up their game. Competition is a good thing. It curbs complacency. 💚💙

This is the prime example of the beauty of a free market and competition. Not only is a new exciting destination becoming available but it will be a serious wake up call for Disney executives to listen to and respond to their core customer base. I believe it will get them back on track in a few years. Now we just need the same to happen in California!

That's it. To heck with our relatively close Disneyland Park that gave us a poor experience even after careful planning (death to Genie Plus!). We are saving our money to finally go to Orlando and do Harry Potter right--and also experience some Nintendo and Vikings/dragons.

I hope they continue to offer the Unlimited Express Pass with the Premier Resort stays. That, in itself, puts them above Disney World for us!!! We visited Universal Orlando in March and we are going back again already next month. We absolutely LOVED it and we were definitely a Disney family before last March.

I actually think in the short term it will help Disney, since many people who are coming to Orlando see the new Epic Universe will also visit Disney. It will be embarrassing for them to be second place, though.

Plus with the opening of a park in Texas not long after EU dedicated specifically to pre-k to upper elementary ages with no true adult rides will shatter the idea that you have to go all the way across the country to do a family vacation for young kids.

It is a (justified) dig at Disney to say they asked their fans, but its also true!! Im on Universal's survey team so I get surveys emailed to me about once a month and there have been tons about Epic Universe, going back to at least 2019. They are listening to fans!

Simple Chris, Universal is making it easy to go to their parks, give a better experience and the quality that Disney used to have. If we were going to Florida, it would be Universal not Disney. Disney is too expensive, difficult to experience, and most of all the parks are not worth what they are charging. Especially because of the poor maintenance, management. I was a life long Disney fan and I wish I could still be, but Disney is doing everything they can to drive away their core fans. 😢 Looking like my grandchildren are going to be Universal fans. With the child centered attractions and the classic Universal properties, they know what the public wants.

Well here we are Disney over here taking 3 years for avengers campus with 2 attractions and still no sign of the eticket development but Universal built a whole damn park in 5 years 😑

Our family lives in AZ and haven't really had the desire to go to WDW. Disneyland has Walt's fingerprint all over it, and we love that. So we've never gone to FL. I think for Epic Universe, we WILL!

Having worked in Hollywood and grown up with Universal Studios, I have always enjoyed their theme parks, but Islands of Adventure really signaled a turning point for me. It was the first time that I went cross country for them. It was the first time that I stayed at their hotel (The Hard Rock) and it was the first trip that I didn't visit WDW. From there I was always a little surprised that they didn't keep going with another park and honestly a little disappointed. This is truly what I expected a decade ago. That being said, they went hard on this Epic Universe. I can't wait to see it. I also hope that this reignites the creative fire at the House of Mouse. Their stock gained over 30 Billion since November. Time to invest some of that in something magical and incredible. Competition is a good thing :)

@officialmonarchmusic well I've heard rumors that Universal hasn't been offering their employees enough incentive to work at the parks. It has a lot to do with how hawkish they've been on union forming, how they successfully advertised they gave their employees a pay raise while also cutting hours and yet still make then work overtime, and how the price of living for those in Orlando is about equal to living in LA. But you won't hear that from theme park news sites.

(Same as Disney, even though Disney also treats them badly) It's sad but true, and I'm hoping these companies change their policies. Cast members are such an integral part of the experience, they deserve to well paid

Universal has not spared any expense on there efforts. They recruited the top talent in the area of creatives and park design. I hear they even got some people from Tokyo parks to work on this one. Can’t wait to go.

This is a game changer for sure. Disney is making incremental changes - most of them negatively impacting the visitor experience - while Universal is building an entirely new park bristling with creativity and family fun. I have not been to Orlando for some time now because I have been so turned off by what Disney has been doing but the opening of Epic Universe will bring me back to Orlando without a doubt. At most, Disney is now the add on.

I love this! Mario, Donkey Kong, Harry Potter, dragons, Universal monsters… all of the worlds sound awesome. Wouldn’t it be cool if they had a haunted attraction with Luigi, Mario carts you could ride, a mummy’s tomb ir a wax museum cursed by all the monsters? So many possibilities. Yes! It sounds like Universal could be our one stop park.

This is absolutely incredible. I grew up going to all the Orlando parks as a season ticket holder, and Universal always felt like the “cheaper” option BUT I always loved Universal and Islands of Adventure more. Seems like Disney has really sat on their success way too long, and neglected their fan base over the last few years. Universal seized that opportunity, and I completely agree that this will be the new Orlando destination. I mean, you’re appealing to almost every audience here. To the OG fans (such as myself) that love the classic Universal Horror Monsters and the new Nintendo world to appeal to the younger generation… This has it all. I don’t think Disney will fail by any means… Far from it. Competition is always good, and maybe will be the push Disney needs to bring back their magic that brought them all the success. Either way, I’m so so excited for this!!!! Thanks for the great video review 🙂

The gauntlet has been officially thrown! I heard that Universal has been hiring a bunch of imagineers, and this trailer really sounds exciting. I love the idea that you enter each land through portals. The immersion is going to be, for lack of a better word, Epic! Now I want to see Amanda's squees for the Dragon land.

Yes! Disney has shown that they don't see their Imagineers as people, and that poor treatment undoubtably partially came from their mistaken idea that Disney was the only company doing this in the industry. A large swathe of Imagineers left for good in 2021, (When Disney tried to move Imagineering to Florida) and now Universal is starting to realize the tricks of the trade

I am a forever Disney fan for its nostalgia, which I think it's their unique competitive advantage. But it's waning heavily due to their leadership losing sight of Walt's original vision and forgetting about us, the fan. This promo video was done so well - it gets right to the heart of the fan. I'm super excited for Epic Universe. The Donkey Kong coaster looks amazing. I already think Universal is a destination. We went last year and spent a week there and still needed more time. The staff there are amazing and they treated us really well. Now, when we go to Florida, we do one trip to Disney and another to Universal. And we are planning a big trip when Epic universe opens. I can't wait!

I would love to see a Lord of The Rings and Hobbit land at some point. The themeing for that would be amazing! And they can do it. They've proven themselves with the Harry Potter lands and the immersive rides they have, they would CRUSH Lord of The Rings. Disney needs to step up. Universal is THROWING down the gauntlet.

I've seen the Universal video at least 10 times and it still brings tears to my eyes because it's just so amazing! The Wow factor of it is just crazy! Also in my mind they were already at least a 2 to 3 day park to do everything and really enjoy it so definitely going to need at least 5 days now to get everything in!

My husband and I drove by the construction last sunday. It is amazingly huge the two other hotels are beautiful. We have decided to downgrade our Disney annual passes for the first time since 2001 and will be upgrading our Universal passes come our renewal at the end of this year. We have stayed more at Universal this year than I ever have in my life and I am so glad that we have as we enjoy it so much more than Disney now

This is such an interesting idea from Universal Studios. All of those lands sound so cool and the one that stands out to me the most is Harry Potter: The Ministry Of Magic. Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life since I was in 4th grade. I still need to ride Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure at Universal Studios Florida one day. I will always be a Disney fan for life however I'm starting to see Universal as the next big thing hearing all this information. Steven Spielberg is my favorite filmmaker of all time. It's so great to see Universal teaming up with him to create this one of a kind experience.

I enjoy Universal Orlando. Especially the new stuff. Harry Potter and Jurrasic World. Last time I was there, last year. I was disappointed in the older rides specifically Islands of Adventure and Seuss Landing. If this means all of that area gets an update along with new lands and more movie magic. Then, I am excited to see Epic Universe.

The emotional connection is tougher for Universal to pull off than for Disney. Disney has all those great movies that kids fall in love with. I love Bride of Frankenstein and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, but those franchises have age on them. Same with Harry Potter and definitely the same for How to Train a Dragon. Young people used to be in love w/ Harry Potter, now today's young people love Dahmer thanks to Netflix. What will ultimately matter for both parks is whether they put the loving care into each land and ride to make them truly enchanting.

I’m very surprised that you didn’t know about any of the info about Epic Universe. With the exception of a few official names, this info has been out there by many Universal and Disney news channels for a while. But I absolutely loved watching your excitement. It was so refreshing. I won’t spoil anything that they didn’t mention in the video that has already been leaked by other sources so you can be surprised. I’m so glad that Universal put their CEO in the release. He seems to love the parks and guests, unlike Bob Iger who seems uninterested in the parks and annoyed to be doing his job lately.

Ok I cried. How to train your dragon was a big part of my boys’ childhood. I’m a big HP fan, so I’m thrilled about this. Probably the one that stands out to me is Celestial Park as nonessential. It doesn’t even meld with the other 4 lands. Weird!

Me and my family are partial to Disneyland over Disney World, but we've always thought it might be fun to take our kids to Florida one day when they're older.... But it just might be for Universal, not Disney! Harry Potter is huge in our family, plus Nintendo and everything else... It looks amazing!

The lands I’m looking forward to is How to Train your Dragon (I love and watched the entire franchise- including the shows), Dark Universe, Wizarding World and Nintendo…so EXCITING!!!!🥳🎉

Universal is the only reason my family haven't traveled in three years..we are saving to go to the new park and the other two..mine is harry potter, my daughter is mario everything and my husband is the monsters and Jurassic park..and how to train ur dragon is all of ours...they literally offer all the interest we have in movies and games.. Disney maybe if we have the energy for maybe a day..we have been saving just for next year and cant wait! This is absolutely great

I will be at Universal Florida for the first time in the very last week of February. I have only been to Disneyland, DCA, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Knott’s Berry Farm.

The Donkey Kong coaster will be in Florida. The original prototype was fabricated in Springville, Utah and assembled/tested up in Ogden. The prototype was actually disassembled, refurbished and moved to Orlando to be a part of the coaster there.

This is amazing to see. Watching for the first time with you was so much fun. I really enjoyed this and could feel your emotions. What a great idea to do and something I didn’t know I needed. Also this is everything we wish Disney would start doing again.

I am waiting for Epic Universe to open before going to the resort since I've never been to the Universal Orlando. I did got to Hollywood as a kid when my family took a big road trip where we got to go to both Disney Land and Universal. Universal Studios surprised me on how much I enjoyed it, even though the only 'ride' we went on was that Backstage tour (which was every entertaining). My fav show was the Animal Show (big animal lover here) where they had Lassie and Benji make appearances lol. I do hope that Universal Studios in Orlando has an animal show and that backstage tour. I just want to feel like I am 9 years old again for certain things lol. I definitely am looking forward to Nintendo World the most. It was actually through Nintendo that I first heard about Epic Universe since they announced that a few years ago in either 2021 or 2022.

“Listen to what people want” - That is it! And Disney needs to pick up on this. All of this talk of “Disneyland Forward” and the investment is great. But what do we really want? A brand new Tomorrowland, maybe with a Tron coaster - anything but aging structures that sit idle for years!

I like the dig at Disney saying that Universal listened to it's fans. That also means Universal listened to Disney's fans and realized Disney was ignoring them. So not only did Universal listen to their own fans, they were listening to their competitors fans as well. 2025 is going to be a huge year for Universal. Meanwhile Disney is clinging on to reservations, Genie+ and blue sky concepts.

They have basically confirmed all the DK stuff esp if you look at the construction pictures. And there's videos of several rides in the dragon area.

Most excited to spend all my money for Nintendo land but really if they redo Lost Continent as Zelda. Must happen. Going in Nov for a week. Staying at Royal Pacific for free Express passes.

The big thing promoted by Disney for 5 years was the new central location in Epcot, along with Moana. 5 years you got mostly concrete, planters and water. Universal in 5 years built an entire new park. Game over Disney

I am very excited by these new concept arts but we knew for a while what the land were gonna be, Alicia Stella on the Theme Park Stop channel is doing an excellent job of going through the permits and the construction images. So yes, Donkey Kong is coming to Epic Universal, the construction is well advanced.

This felt like disney magic. The way this video was put together feels like how disney does there videos. Im super excited to visit epic universe. And ill add on a day or 2 of disney world just to try the new stuff :P universal just needs 1 more park and 1 more water park and they will be just as big as disneyworld.

I’m not a fan but if you like those characters I think it would be a great experience. I can appreciate individuals who are genuinely big fans. If I were to go to Florida, I’d prefer going to a beach and look for shells, rocks, and tumbled glass.
