The mushrooms in the fairytale forest are such a classic thing for a lot of Dutch people. I think most people have photo's of themselves sitting on the mushrooms from when they were little (or a little older as well). Or with their ear on the mushroom to listen to the music (little kids to this the most).

The story with the lam that were eaten by the wolf continues- after the little one told his mum what happened, she finds the wolf sleeping with his full tummy. She cuts his tummy open and all her kids come out fine and she replaces them in the wolf’s tummy with stones. She sows him back up and when he wakes up he goes for a drink but he falls into the well and drowns because of the stones.

This park just randomly popped up on my KZfaq suggestions around 4 years ago. Never knew it existed. I’ve been just fascinated with it since and want to visit it so badly. I’m not sure that’ll happen, but I’ll keep watching videos that people post of it and keep dreaming. Who knows right, it could happen? Thanks for these series of videos. Great job making us feel like we’re there 😊 ❤️🇨🇦

The name of the artist and painter you looking for is 'Anton Pieck'. He is the founder of most designings of ideas in the Efteling in early days, like the style of buildings and fairy tail like characters. Most fairy tails and folklore tails are presented in 'Sprookjesbos' (Fairy tail forest) and based on famous Europian fairy tail writers Hans Christiaan Andersen (1805 - 1875) from Denmark and Brothers Grimm (Jacob (1785-1863) en Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859) from Germany. Efteling succeeded to bring these fairy tails alive by animatronics and scenery, which gives an atmospheric vibe of many people childhood period of time. You could say it is are reflection of life. If you want to know more about this park, please ask.

Aloha Chris! Thank you for taking us along with you and your family through the Netherlands. We've enjoyed watching your European adventures from the start, waiting for the next video to premiere. How lucky for Miles to travel and experience a destination so far away from home. He is the cutest, especially while wearing his king outfit at the first theme park. How lucky, a special seat and photo op at the show. Your spontaneous day in a small town with a church tower was amazing, how you all just went with the flow. Thank you for introducing us to the two theme parks, especially Efteling. How amazing is that park, filled with nature's beauty and a vast amount of open space to enjoy. This is something that most theme parks don't have as they try to maximize the amount of space for the most revenue. All of you must've enjoyed the park and dining spaces without overcrowding as well as visually, without the sales of merchandise/food at each corner. Don't get me wrong, we are Disneyland fans for life but, Efteling definitely has something special and unique that I haven't seen before in a theme park. One day, maybe a trip out there might be an idea for us. Thank you for your care and genuine approach, for keeping things positive and entertaining yet, informative. We enjoy you and your wife's passion for what you do. Thank you Amanda for your wonderful presence, love and, bright personality that truly adds to the videos. You ae both a great team and, a wonderful family + channel to follow. Thank you for placing viewers like us first because it truly shows in your delivery. We can't wait to follow all of you on your next adventure in Europe. Chris, Amanda and Miles...wishing all of you the very best + an enjoyable and memorable trip together. Enjoy the moments together and hold onto the precious memories. Thank you once again for bringing us along with you. Aloha from Hawai'i!

Am watching this right now. I think the Dutch artist you were referring to is Anton Pieck? And, as far as I remember, the Red Riding Hood fairy tale (Roodkapje) does have a good ending (except for the wolf): a hunter came, cut the (sleeping) wolf open, took Roodkapje and her grandma out of his stomach, then filled the stomach with stones. When the wolf woke up it went to the river to drink and fell in... and drowned. Anyway, agree with you that European fairy tales are often dark. I read them when I was a kid, a lot of them by ANDERSON and by the brothers GRIMM. When I had my own kids I wouldn't let my kids read them because I thought too many of them were too terrible. Fortunately my books were in Dutch and my kids don't speak Dutch...

Cool! Nooooo! Dad jokes! And not even in a foreign language! That's an amazing park. Glad you showed it to us. "Hey Dad, you're not paying attention to His Majesty!" Then His Royal Highness says, "Even I love it!" Very good recommendation. You know, you're stuck with the king thing for at least 'til he's twelve or so! Very cool. Um, FIVE minute wait time? It’s absolutely beautiful there. CHRIS isn’t a fairytale story Grimes, Snow White, and the seven dwarfs and Cinderella aren’t they all originally written with not so good endings. And changed by Walt Disney? It’s nighttime here. So good morning to Provost family.

I haven’t been to Efteling since 1983 when I was 10 years old and we were stationed in Rotterdam for a few years. It was always a magical experience…. My 3 year old sister would race around the park looking for trash to put it into the fun “papier hier” sucking trash can. I think that’s one of the reasons it’s so clean…. It makes cleanup fun! I wish other theme parks would use gamification trash cans!!!!!!!!

I do have a few slight corrections I wanted to mention. The ride you said was like "its a small world" is actually Droomvlucht (Dream Flight) which is basically their Peter Pan. It is amazing and one of if not the best ride in all of Efteling. The giant clown building that you mentioned was a souvenir shop is actually their version of it's a small world. I'm not a huge fan of the music of that ride, but to each their own. For the ride you called their version of the haunted Mansion, I can see it, because it's literally a haunted house. However, I would say their old show called Spookslot now Danse Macabre is the closest spiritual cousin personally. I point all of these out with love, I love your content. Thank you for sharing this beautiful park with more people.

CHRIS!!! Thank you so much for making this video; without you I would have never heard of this place. It seems like the majority of the fairy tales there are Hans Christian Andersen, who was Dutch! I looked it up and The Emperor and The Nightingale is actually a lovely and cautionary tale. The Emperor of China hears of Nightingales for the first time and demanded one be brought to him. When a nightingale was brought to him and sang it moved him to tears and he had the nightingale made a member of his court. Years later, an “automaton” nightingale replica was gifted to the emperor, causing him to lose appreciation for the real nightingale. The nightingale flew away one night and never returned. Years later, the emperor grew ill and the fake nightingale would break down, so much so that it could only be played once a year. One day Death comes to the emperor and shows him his past deeds before he is going to take him. The real nightingale bursts through the window singing, and even Death is so moved by it that he decides to heal the emperor instead of take his life. The emperor begs the bird to return to his court, but it refuses. I love this fairytale because it is telling the reader not to take advantage of the things you love! I just wanted to say that I really love this park and these fairy tales and I would not have found them without you! Thank you again ❤

Hi Chris and Amanda! This Disneyworld hotel series was great! And Amanda's idea to go to all Disney hotels around the world would be insane!! But I would be invested in it. Went to Japan in January and went to Fuji-Q Highland! I think you and your family should go! There's 4 big intense coasters that I'm sure ya'll love. I'm not sure if Miles would be tall enough, but maybe sometime in the future ya'll can go there! Another thought, all Universal parks/hotels??? That would be a great series too! Lastly, thanks Chris for your kind words every video. Some days I feel like I really need it and it means a lot.

Provost Family - I totally agree that you're an amazing family, and loved to hear in a previous vlog that your personalities don't change off-camera. Can I say that whilst you're both leading an interesting life with balancing work/life on/off camera etc you're doing an amazing job raising Miles. I've noticed that whilst he's being raised as a KZfaqr's "kid" in the spotlight he's still normal and acting like my nephews/nieces on-camera which is fun to see ;) I've been enjoying all your vlogs and whilst both all Disney and Universal Parks are on my bucket lists you're now adding to it even more as you're introducing me to parks I've never hear of and can't wait to see Asterix (World?) to determine if should be adding it as well.
