If yes, the spousal open work permit is a route you must consider, and to help make it easier to understand, in this video I am telling you all you need to know about it!

- Deed of Gift and Affidavit of Sponsorship
- Wedding pictures (like 3 to 4)

Hello Fola I need assistance with my husband’s visa We just got married last month, meanwhile I’m already schooling in Canada but I’m doing a PGD program which will be ending in August and according to the new rule in Canada, student who didn’t study a master’s program or PhD are not eligible to bring in their spouse for open spousal work permit So what do you suggest we do?

thanks, but is the open work permit possible with a visitors visa biometrics. That is an agent promises an employment visa, but at the point of biometrics instead of W for work visa reference, a V for visitors visa reference is what is available in the biometrics appointment letter.

Hello! Thank you for this video. So I am going for a one-year course and I plan to extend my study permit for an extra year because I want to do an extra course so it will make my pgwp will be 3 years. My question is, When should the spouse apply in my case?Should he wait till my study permit is extended or can he do it when I am still in my first year?

Thank you for watching!! Yes he can start while you’re in your first year but note that once his application is approved he will only be given the duration you have left on your study permit and will have to apply for an extension once you get your study permit extended too

Thank you for this video. My husband is currently studying in Canada for a one year post graduate course. He has been there for two months now. Someone was now saying that I can't apply for SOWP because he will be rounding up soon and also for me to avoid rejection from immigration people. He told me to apply for visitation instead. I am bothered and don't know what to do now. Can I still apply for SOWP?

Thank you for watching! So IRCC can be very unpredictable, some people get their SOWP approved with the same duration and some get rejected.…you just have to follow your mind and hope for the best, because people speculate a lot. Also applying for visitation is not a bad idea as well as you can always convert it to an open work permit once you get here, but I’m sure anyone you and your husband decide to go for will yield positive results!

Good day.. Please I want to ask,if one gets her Visa, can she apply for her husband to go with her.. Like she's still in Nigeria and travelling next month but wants her husband to join her like a month after .. Is it okay to start his application while still in Nigeria?

What if the spouse is enrolling in a DLI that has no PGWP, can he still bring his wife from Nigeria to Canada.

I’m not the sure application to bring a spouse would be approved as one of the major requirement is that the student must be in a DLI that allows you get a PGWP. To solve this though, you can switch to an DLI that offers PGWP and then submit your application.

Hi fola am newly married and I also just got admission to a college in Canada and I would like my husband to come with me but I was told that I need to change the name on my passport to my husband name. Is it true and I was also told that I need to change the name on my offer letter to too my husband name. The name on my passport and offer letter still carry’s my surname. I really don’t know what to do I await your response

Hello, I don’t think all that is compulsory if you have a marriage certificate because I haven’t changed my last name to my husband’s and we were able to complete the entire process but I’ll also confirm to be sure, if otherwise I’ll drop another comment here ❤️

Hello Lamin, thank you for subscribing. Either of the 2 can work, I don’t think using any determines anything, although for my own spousal application I created my own account.
