My friend pls go do research on taking statins. They are not good for women. Cholesterol is not the enemy. We need it. Pls pls go out and do research on cholesterol. Many good doctors out there on the subject. Most are against women taking statins. I say this in love.

Please please please do not offer medical advice to someone already happy with their treatment plan. What works for Renee may not always work for someone else but Renee knows her body and I'm sure she has done her own research. She is sharing what has worked for her. Please respect her right to choose what works best for her own body.

Menopause is a normal part of the aging process. Sudden menopause that is triggered by a hysterectomy is more challenging on the body and psyche; symptoms become immediate and could be severe. The normal process of menopause may take years with a gradual onset and eventual resolution. Some women experience more challenging symptoms than others with varying durations. While I am not a proponent of estrogen replacement therapy, I believe it’s best used during the transitional period and not for the remainder of your life. Menopause is no different than other times in woman’s life when our bodies are transitioning, for example in puberty and pregnancy. Good luck to all who are navigating this challenging phase in life.

Hi Renee, I am new to your channel am 48 years old - in fact subscribed only few days ago when I discovered your hysterectomy journey. Your video is coming out at the right time,as I was wondering how you are getting on now. Am on waiting list for hysterectomy ( robotic total laparoscopic hysterectomy with ovarian preservation ) - I am finally ready and actually really looking forward to it - as my quality of life is not great at the moment due to issues why I need my hysterectomy. Was trying to avoid it for last 3 years as I needed to accept the fact that I am ok without children and now I am genuinely looking forward to it. Thank you for your honesty and sharing your journey. Lots of love,Katarina x

I had a hysterectomy about 15 years ago and kept my ovaries. I had a fibroid which was casing heavy blood loss and pain. It felt like the best thing ever to not have that problem every month. I’m 73 now

Statins are very dangerous. Wish more doctors would do their research.

Renee, you can and should go higher with your estrogen. You are on a low dose and you will not need the statin. You need at least .50 mg to get the benefit for your bones.

I want to thank you so much for posting your experience. I found your video by chance 3 weeks ago after being sent home from the hospital after a total hysterectomy and bowel resection all done robotically the same way your surgery was done. I was not given any information for after care, post op info, nothing. So grateful that I found your videos when I did! You eased my mind by sharing your experience and the info you got from your doctor. You should get an award for the films you shared.

Hi Renee. I had a " forced " hysterectomy at 45 yeaes old, I'm 72 now. At 45, I started spit bleeding between periods. Had a uterine biopsy and it cane back as cells showing atipia, which are definitely precancerous cells. I could have wound up with full blown cancer at anytime 1 year or 20 years from then. So my wonderful Ob-Gyn did a lapriscopic hysterectomy at 45 years old. I never had to go thru menopause thank God. Right after leaving hospital I went on a low dose of estrogen. Stayed on it for a few years then my primary doc took me off. I've done completely fine ever since never any menopause symtoms. I DO NOT have MUCH SEXUAL DRIVE though. I did lose my husband 13 year's ago, so who cares. Haven't dated or had intimacy with anyone. If I get the urge or some drive lol, I just get out my MR. ELECTRIC haha😅😂

Greetings Renee! I had my hysterectomy when I was 47 and it's been 20 years now. It really is a relief not to have all those issues from the extreme bleeding, etc. anymore. Congratulations on making it through the journey so far! Love and blessings ♥️🙏

Prior to deciding to have my own hysterectomy, I started searching for hysterectomy stories here on KZfaq. Especially after I tried an ablation and it failed. That's how I found you and your wonderful channel!! I was also afraid that a hysterectomy would hinder intimacy, but it did the complete opposite. It is sooooo much better, especially as I don't have to plan around a very heavy and intense period any longer. I chose to have everything removed except my ovaries, and I'm very happy with the outcome. Mine was also a robotic surgery with 5 tiny incisions. Best decision I ever made!!!

I finally had my robotic assisted hysterectomy back in February. I had two fibroids, one was the size of a grapefruit and the other one was the size of a plum. They made me have to pee like crazy but I couldn’t fully empty my bladder every time. It also made eating and digestion difficult. Having the surgery has been a life saver. Quite literally. It’s only been 2 months but I can already tell that my CBC levels are getting better. And I can go for longer walks and exercises because I’m no longer in pain. I kept my ovaries so no menopause yet. But the perimenopause started about a year ago. Can’t say I’m a fan of it but I know it’s going to happen.

Hi Renee, I am having issues with my menstrual cycles etc... I have been mildly anemic for a few years. Well now I'm severely anemic. I had a blood transfusion earlier this week. I'm feeling better from that. I'm afraid I'll be told I will have to have a hysterectomy. I had a biopsy yesterday, so we will see. Thank you for this video. I needed to hear this. It is helpful.

Hi. I just had a laparoscopic sigmoid colon resection and total hysterectomy last Friday. I did keep my ovaries, by request, even though I will be turning 54. I have other medical issues and did not want to be plummeted into full menopause. All my pathology came back cancer free ( thank God) and I am hoping for a good longterm outcome. As soon as I am cleared, I will be looking to work with a PT to maintain and further strengthen my pelvic floor to try to prevent any issues.
