Had some great martabak telor and martabak Manis from Martabak Portal in Cinere. I had the 3 Duck egg for the savory martabak, and chose Nutella with cheese for the sweet pancake one. Martabak is a great comfort food, savory, sweet or both. You can’t go wrong with them.

My fave Indonesia food is "Bebek Khas Madura" Also Ayam Geprek. If you like duck eggs a lot you should try "Kerak Telor" What part of the USA are you from?

SO, sweet martabak or terang bulan or martabak manis is a sweet remedy for a broken heart LOL.... one of my best friend she can finish a whole box of this martabak when she had a bad day or even break up..

For Martabak Telur : you have to try martabak kubang and martabak malabar in Padang city because as far as I know it tastes much better than martabak in Jakarta... more meat and cheaper too....

The way you explain how you ate martabak manis is exactly the way I ate them. Buy fresh, eat one or two then store it in fridge to make it like a frozen cake / pancake type. It is a rare one. But glad I am not the only one who did that.👍🏽

You should wat the savory martabak telor with the pickles & sauce. It will give a different punch to it and make it more less greasy / more balance with the sour taste if u add the pickles & sauce.

some of indonesian that live in the countryside prefer to cook with wood stove (i mean wood as the "fuel"). well i never see them with my own eyes, but i think these days it is rare to see people use it. they said that it will make the food more tasty than use gas.
