My Kidney Stone and Lithotripsy Experience | Part 1

Recently, I had quite an adventure and ended up having kidney stones and a lithotripsy procedure! My experience with kidney stones and lithotripsy was such a rollercoaster, I had a hard time limiting myself when talking about it, so I had to split this video into 2 parts. This first part of the video details my kidney stone symptoms and all the prep work for my procedure. The second part will be all about the procedure itself and how my recovery went (spoiler alert - it was ROUGH). I'll link that below once it is published!

Please use pain medication if you have kidney stones colic. You won't get addicted. It is inhumane to endure so much pain. 💔 Thank you for sharing your story

I had Lithotripsy 2 days ago..very painful as its important to converse with the team doing the treatment..they can do a better job than if the patient is zonked out, in holland only oral meds needed..I had a 9 mm kidney stone lower left kidney..I took 2 x oxycodone and diclofiniac suppository and felt the pain having the shock waves I invented new swear words!! But I've suffered hell with kidney pain for years so I had Lithotripsy now 48 hrs later no blood in pee..and drinking 8 pints water daily..im taking 2 x 500mg every 5 hrs and 2 x tramadol every 24 hrs..flank pain but normal as that's where the machine pushes to target stone..Im hoping pain eases over next few days...I also did 9 days water only fast to prepare my body before lithotripsy so zero food..

My stones are small, but the Urologists said I have a cluster. I have them about 5 years but I'm so scared I heard there painful to pass. How long did your stones take to grow?

I don't know which dr. You had but al l sound weird I didn't do any of that accept nausea and painmeds

I've had two ESWLs performed and neither time did the urologist require that I take laxatives or enemas and I'm now questioning your urologist as to why you needed to take either since the gastrointestinal tract and the urinary tract are completely different.

If you have poop or gas blowing the view they can't aim at what can't be seen. I cleared myself out for diagnosis and just to be sure did it again the night before ESWL . Better than going up there !

Not so well they gave me a severe ear infection and sent me home in the most unbearable pain you can imagine. Evidently tore my insides with camera im thinking of seeing an lawyer

It is not necessary to take a klysma and to use laxatives prior to ESWL. Only to fast for drinking and eating 12 hrs prior. So sorry for this unnecessary advice
