I now live in a new apartment with my fiancée and our 3 cats in central Seoul.
This apartment was offered by my school. My school paid 100% of the rent, as part of the deal for my English teaching contract with SMOE. If you are looking to come to Korea as an English teacher, you may or may not receive free housing similar to this apartment. In Korea, this style of apartment is called an "Officetel."

This is an ideal officetel/ living area for me, I like smaller spaces because larger spaces leave too much room for error.

+Cory May I was thinking of moving to Thailand but the cops are corrupt and so many scams. Any scams to speak of in Korea

+caziontherise Being Korean-American and who's been to Korea a bunch of times, you don't have to worry about corrupt cops or scammers. Yea, you'll hear stories about pick pocketers and people who'll try to sell you stuff that you don't need, but that's common no matter what country you go to. It's up to you to make sure to have some awareness and common sense to not expose yourself. Bottom line, you'll be fine in Korea. I'll be teaching in Korea next Friday and I'm super excited!

+caziontherise oh yea, you'll find them in Korea too. They'll basically try to sell you a "grand tour" of whatever city you're in.

***** I'll be in Cheongju. I took the hagwon route so I'll have to stay on my toes lol. You're right about hagwons scamming teachers on their exit allowance. I see this topic come up quite frequently in other KZfaq videos, but I'm going to trust my recruiter and give my hagwon the benefit of the doubt.

I live in Brooklyn NY and these "officetel " apartment's are very similar to what I am living in right now but in new York their called either "studio's " or "kitchenette's "

You have a very soft soothing voice. What a wonderful picture window! I would love to lay in bed and watch a thunderstorm. Yes..you were lucky to get that Western style bathroom. Very nice place, thank you for the tour.

I kind of miss living in this place. I moved out in December 2014. The views were the best I've ever had in my life! Too bad you can't really see it in this video. Hi! I've seen several apartments and they look almost the same, some of them have the washer machine in the same kitchen under the stove, others have the shower with no doors. I think these places have everything one needs to live comfortably, and I looooove the window and the view! Nice place!

I really loved the sleeping loft like that when I lived in Japan, but the stairs you have look WAY better than the rickety ladder I had! I had bruises on my legs for the longest time from the sides of my ladder. I really wish I could find an apartment with this sort of layout here in NYC, but all our small apartments try to be "luxury" units for rich people from Long Island to send their kids to NYU, rather than comfortable residences for normal single people. Sigh, I miss Asia.

What's great about your video is that you have steady hands. You instinctly know when to make the focus short or long (for example, you show the contents of ref as a whole, not item by item). Also your personality is great though I don't know how you look except that you said you're 6 ft tall. You don't try to be cute, you have positive attitude, you have ease and confidence even when you make a mistake, and you adjust well to your surroundings (a loft half your height). Don't worry, I'm not crushing on you. I'm a retired trainer-educator by profession and giving feedback helps to build self-esteem. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼

Hi Cory...thanks for all the Info.... that view in your old apartment is amazing!...You mentioned in the video that you had not used your under floor heating at all..How come?..I taught that would be essential!?...especially in the colder months!?....I am planning on making the big move in September to Korea myself to teach English and i am guessing it will be pretty cold when I arrive!... I am nervous, excited & curious about all things Korean! (: lol

I have to say that being in America cooking with gas we don't have that valve to switch off the gas to the cooktop after your done cooking which i think is a great and safe idea
