I feel like this is the main reason why hemorrhoids develop in the first place: our muscles being unable to fully relax, more so than the popular belief of constipation and lack of fiber. When we are stressed, our muscles contract much like eye strain, some are voluntary while others are semi-voluntary.

Had chronic constipation the last few years, about a month and a half ago the bleeding really started up. Napkins and the bowl itself had a lot of blood, and mostly painless bleeding as well. (Sometimes) It stung a bit like something spicy in there although - didn't go to the doctor but changed my diet to include more fiber. Seems to be doing better and sometimes I get a few drops of blood but NOTHING like it used to be. At first i was absolutely terrified that it was something else other than hemorrhoids or a fissure, (looking on google definitely didn't help) thought i was dying with a disease lol. But after some reassurance and changing my diet, I'm doing much better. Now sometimes i still have sharp sudden pains deep up there, but nothing too bad. Just waiting to fully recover now. So just hemorrhoids and a fissure, or one or the other. But By the grace of God i am healed! Stools are wayyy looser now, thank the Lord for prune juice!!!

The fissures will heal, but if I’m not careful (ie I don’t get enough fibre and/or water), then the fissures will come back and I have to repeat the entire process of healing it. You should have used something called Perineal Massage if constipated. Also, persimmons contains 80% water so it's hard to believe that they caused constipation. I find that if I eat slowly with smaller amounts of food at a time, the stools are smaller compared to gulping food down without much chewing.

Worst discomfort I've had is a painless throbbing afterward. Think I'll be alright. I do not want hemorrhoidal problems anymore. Although my post op recovery wasn't bad still, don't want to have to go through that again. Btw, hope you're not experiencing any rectal prolapse.

Hey Doc, and everyone else. If you feel that coming along again then do the cat/cow yoga pose before and then again afterwards. It really helps stretch that area out before you go and can make the result much easier. I usually start a bath just in case as well. Something else you can try is a vibrating wand to stretch out your pelvic area a bit. Also take just a little Vaseline and put inside before you go to kind of coat the area and help it slide out. Good luck! Im on week 17 of an external hem removed and seem to have picked up several tricks along the way.

@@rls1231 I never went that far, but I have done the following: Stand up immediately after the BM, sit down again only if needed to pass more. It can make a certain swelling/pain cycle reset faster. Omg that's terrifying! It was like prolapsing almost! That's scary a.f. omg im still listening to the video as im typing and your description is terrifying. It's like your body was trying to get something out of there that was attached in there and the nerves thought it was a second poo or something. Dear god thats terrifying. The blood flow was going crazy. Jesus thats a terrifying story. I hope that never happens again.

I've watched a lot of your videos and admire your honesty and telling it like it is Is graphically especially about your experience with hemorrhoids. I just have one question. Since you're the expert in this, how did you end up getting hemorrhoids?

Omg I've been going through this more months! My colorectal surgeon hasn't been able to do anything until I can get regular bowel movements. So for two weeks I've had one tbsp metamucil one prune bran cereal in plain yogurt and amatiza sp? Twice a day to get regulated. Finally regulated and seeing the surgeon Monday. He's done numerous bands in the past yr. Ughh!

I noticed a connection between a brow/hair growth serum & prolonged proctalgia fugax. Supposedly there is an ingredient the the serums that create an over abundance of prostaglandins. My first very bad bout was with a thrombosed hemorrhoid, the second was just the spasming, for like 3 days. I asked for a muscle relaxer as my entire pelvic bowl & abs up to my ribs have been contracted & really tender. Liquid GABA has helped too. I hope maybe this but of info helps someone here.

I believe that sensation happens when your body is pushing the poop but the doors are shut. When we lie down the pressure releases but the urge to poop again will come after sometime when we stand and walk again.

So I’ve been having that exact thing for 18 months since a fissure which has now healed. Sometimes the spasm feel like burning they are the worse. Sometimes I can’t feel the burning even with the spasm. But it is super frustrating to feel like you have to keep going. Drives me insane. Either way lying down definitely helps. I’m trying Botox for this exactly reason. It’s gone in my puborectalis and IAS yet to see any results. But I hve noticed many things effect the spasms behind the BM itself. It can be mental state or as you say the panic after. I find the worse thing is to be too active after a BM. Lying down for 20 mins done an amazing job especially after a bath! Thank you for sharing this though!

Hey Dr Chung. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I'm hoping you feel better now. Just curious to know. If you know you have some hemorrhoids down there? Why don't you remove them through a procedure? Your wife is a doctor, right? I remember you made a video of how you got a Rubber band ligation done.

Talking about fiber, as I understand there are 2 types of fiber. Soluble and insoluble fiber. We need both for better poop. Soluble fiber attracts water. So if you eat persimmon (high in soluble fiber) then you may want to increase the amount of water you drink. Does that make sense?

I had the same, I have an inverted pelvic floor, and anything abnormal like a large poop I know I need to lay down with it, I think there’s many things still not discovered with the human body, but I would guess it’s a syndrome of inverted pelvic spasm, can you get a scan to see how your pelvic floor is doing?

Doctor dude! This is such good stuff. So I had something flare up in the last 2 days and I am in excruciating pain. Like I'm laying on my side and hip so there's no pressure on my ass. My rectum is just throbbing. Anyway I've had some troubles in the past and had the preparation h on hand so I've tried that but it's not really giving me much relief. I know I sit too much but it's hard to avoid. So I'm hitting the internet today inquiring about rings or cushions to sit on and I came across your name and a link to this channel. So like basic stuff Idk. Never had any hemorrhoid issues till my '30s but I knew of them because my mother and grandmother were sufferers. So I do remember getting checked out around age 30 and the doctor going yep hemorrhoids. Since then in the past 20 some years I get occasional blood with my stool. It's the bright red so I always just figure it's hemorrhoid. Listening to you though, I'm wondering now if it isn't one of them fissure things. It's an internal not external hemorrhoid if it is a hemorrhoid. So it's really been hard to get that cream where I think it's needed, though if it's a fissure does preparation h even help? How do you know which one you got? So I don't think the preparation h I got has the lidocaine either... I'm just wondering how to get some relief from this literal excruciating pain in the ass.
