Ana Collins Your comment assumes that it doesn't make sense for girls to wear makeup unless they are being seen by others. The reason many girls wear makeup even when they are staying at home for the day is because they aren't putting it on for others. That's how it makes sense.

That might be true, but that isn't the reason the author of this initial post doesn't understand why girls put on makeup if they aren't going anywhere outside. By saying "going anywhere" assumes the only possibly reason a woman should wear makeup is if they are going somewhere at which they will be seen by someone else. I understand what you said, but it doesn't accurately address either of our sentiments in our comments in the slightest.
