Coming from a lineman wife, Thank you guys for keeping our lights on. Thank you for working all those crazy and hard hours to get the job done. Thank you for keeping each other safe! My hubby is working a long stretch as I right to get the pwer back on for the city of Pasadena. You guys don't get nearly enough credit! God bless you all.

I have an apprentice assessment coming up. Waiting on the date. Excited. Been working the industrial construction building powerhouses and refineries, learned a lot in 8 years, I hope it my experiences can transfer to this field. I have climbed before at a school for a year and a half. I’m exited to get in somewhere. This is my passion, is it weird that adrenaline gets going when I watch these videos? I am a veteran and I also miss the camaraderie, looks like a brotherhood to me.

My dad and grandma did it and 4 of my dads brothers did it as well and I know my dad worked his ass off for us as kids and I respect him a lot for that and I kinda find it funny when I'm at school and people go well my powers out there so slow they must have the easiest job ever ik what my dad did and I want to join the trade I'm 16 and this honestly looks like a lot of fun. Mentally I can not sit down at a desk all my life and not getting that rush every day my dad and grandpa tell me story's about what they saw ik how hard they work and how much they work I've been reading the books and learning as much as I can as a 16 year old kid

I was never a lineman but often went out into the field and worked with line and cable splicing crews testing cable pairs etc. these AT&T crews often work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week during bad weather to maintain telephone service. Although phone co. employees seldom encounter high voltage accidents still happen.

Im proud of being a lineman ,but I wouldnt work for AEP,I wont even apply with them ever again.I was called for an interview and drove 1700 miles to take their CAST test on my dime and failed it.Not one of us passed and all of us have journeyman experience.later we found out they gave us the wrong test in sherevport. They wanted us to come back and take it on our dime but that dog aint gonna hunt..

I have my app ready for an apprenticeship program. how is it? I've always had that phobia of getting shocked to death. i've been shocked when working around electrical stuff in carpentry and then trying to replace some sockets in my home.

start out in communications and see if you can handle it for a few years first. power is a whole different ball game, but out of 100 ground hands, I'd say 98 quit in a year or less. if you can make it that far, go to local 57 ibew in Taylorsville and get on the groundhand list. get a cdl and tell them you will work anywhere and you'll get bumped twoards the top of the list.

You will learn from the Best of the Best who are picked by Knowledge Test that and will tell you everything that you have to know best choice I've ever made
