"The reason I think I have ADHD is..." 53yo here who finally went for ADHD assessment and was diagnosed at age 50. I'd agree that you have it. It's pretty obvious from an outsider's perspective. I'd highly encourage you to look into being assessed; there are unbelievable mental benefits that come just with getting that diagnosis. For me, it was akin to having weight lifted off of my shoulders, and I was finally able to give myself grace rather than berating myself constantly. As for the Plotter...all of those paper/cardstock inserts can be made at home for pennies with a paper cutter and a hole punch, saving a ton of money in refills. Even the plastic things like page lifters and writing boards can be cut and punched from existing standard-size plastic page separators.

I like the thought of having a long term notebook like that. I always carry separate pocket notebooks in my bag, on top of my planner, and there are some pages that I keep to log. So it would be nice to have a long term notebook like that to reference, and/or remove/add pages too, rather than continue buying the throwaway notebooks! I love how small it is too!

I do have ADHD and time-logging has been a literal game changer. For me it's not so much about tracking my mood as it is making sure I'm using my time how I want to be using it, because much like you, if someone asked me what I did yesterday I couldn't answer without checking my log.

I would suggest a smart pen with erasable ink... in particular, the NewYes SyncPen 4. It totally can be used as an erasable analog pen, but it also has all the benefits of a digital pen! Using erasable paper saves money since it is reusable... just be careful not to leave your notebook in a hot car because of the heat based erasable ink... oh wait, it's all stored digitally! It's a primo experience.

I love the idea of plotter but from my past experiences and perfectionistic tendencies, if I can move a page around I will keep moving pages around trying to find perfect order of pages instead of finishing tasks 😅 I use bullet journal system since 2017, currently in A6 notebook for portability. It works for me and that’s what matters. I like to watch videos on other people notebooks/systems because each brain has different pitfalls and it is interesting to see how we deal with them. :)

I feel you, I went analogue this year as well. Now I have far too many pens and fountain pens, but there is something very calming about it. I'm GoodNotes power user, and prefer it for notebooks and learning (things I need are easier to find), but when it comes to meetings and to do lists? I found paper notebooks to be more comfortable. Also it's just so much fun to use fountain pens with different inks and nibs. Some planners also have a very cool designs, and different patterns for each month. Yea, it's cool.

Holy damn, this might actually be the system that could work for me!!! I love the idea of travelers notebook but as you've mentioned I don't like that I'm limited to number of pages, can't sort them around etc. especially when you jot down random things that pop into your head but with this system you can organize the pages later on. Very tempting but the price is a bit high for the notebook binder so I'll have to save for it lol.

I'm glad to hear your experience of finding what works for you. I learned years ago that im a paper and pen gal. There's so much information that i often need to access quickly. Many people have suggested I try different notebooks for different needs. But.. Keeping track of seperate things is not a strong point for me. Also, portability is an issue. The last two years I've been using a disc bound system in approximately A5 size. I love being able to move papers/inserts or add and remove as needed. It's currently a bit thick as I'm still customizing for my own personal needs. It seems to be an ever evolving process. I am seeing possibly having a separate, long-term lists reference notebook eventually, but we'll see.

Your zipper file has gone how mine has, with the check pattern being rubbed off by the leather cover. I swapped mine around and then realised that if you have the plotter logo in the middle like every page is, it puts that black check grid on the inside 👍🏻 (Doesn't matter of course 😆) I may have to contact my IG shopper and order the whole set. I like the notebook and wallet combo always. Thanks Alliana 😄 I did LOL @4:14 when you smelt the leather. Every time I pick one up! Ha, brilliant.

Over many years of me doing it myself wrong and using work place binders where everyone also 'opens' the binder pages wrong at the rings, not the 'ring opener' - the rings get out of alignment. Over time, a short video - perhaps mentioning how often you make page adjustments and 'the correct' way to open up the rings might be a point to add, and any 'repairs'/wear and tear reports. I like the idea of loose leaf papers, I have a number of notebooks that got to 80 percent used, so I like this concept. The fact that it is almost the size of a wallet is nice too. In another comment, I think you mentioned you have been using this for a while, so perhaps a year review when appropriate might be good.

You need to read: Refuse to Choose by Barbara Sher: What Sher has discovered is that some individuals simply cannot, and should not, decide on a single path; they are genetically wired to pursue many areas. Sher calls them "Scanners"-people whose unique type of mind does not zero in on a single interest but rather scans the horizon, eager to explore everything they see. In this groundbreaking book, readers will learn: • what's behind their "hit and run" obsessions • when (and how) to finish what they start • how to do everything they love • what type of Scanner they are (and which tools they need to do their very best work)

While I think it's great you found a system that works, 150-240 USD for essentially just a leather cover is extortionate... Similarly, while the compactness of the plotter is handy, you'll soon realise how limiting it is (especially as it's a binder) as you'd only be able to hold max 50-80ish pages or a 50-80 page notebook on it before you start to lose that compactness or the binder runs out of space and starts damaging the pages. Imo, you're better off getting a traveler's notebook (TN) that is passport/pocket size. The go-to brand is Midori (renamed Travelers Company) and their covers are only around 50 USD and nearly all TN users use Midori. It also uses a refill system and can fit 3-5 32-64 page refill notebooks. With 3 refills in it, it'll still likely fit in your pocket and you have just as much customisability as the plotter.
@BeefMamsir
@BeefMamsir 13 күн бұрын
@@sirbaguette8378 the purpose of the mini 5 is to keep circulating the paper, not meant for long periods of storage. Turn over for the papers in here are quite fast as I transfer them over to my ipad mini later on to expound on an idea. The smallest travellers notebook is still too big imo and I can't rearrange the papers individually paper which is a deal breaker. I do wish there was a cheaper option, the closest is filofax but it's still too bulky.

I'm something of an ADHD Filipino tech creative myself 😂 so inevitably the algorithm served this video up to me, and obviously I ended up spending almost $200 on this binder lol. I love it! it's like a moleskine/notability app hybrid of my dreams. Having a binder instead of a notebook, one that's small enough to bring everywhere, has been a game changer. My brain loves having the option of shuffling pages around, putting them in folders, or being able to remove them altogether. Plus it's so cute, and that leather smellll 🤌 Im so glad to have found your channel as well, we have a lot of interests in common and I'm looking forward to future videos! 👉🔔

Hi there, First of all, great content! It is well-organized, and the videos are really well done. Congrats on your momentum in getting subscribers. I suspect, given enough time, your solution may run into some limitations, such as feeling like you don't have enough pages, not having everything available on hand, having to transcribe to another notebook, having too many pages of one type, inconvenience of sourcing refills, etc. A lot of these same issues also relate to the Traveler's Notebook. I think, for all of these reasons, the more convoluted (initially) approach of the Bullet Journal might make more sense!
@BeefMamsir
@BeefMamsir 14 күн бұрын
@@han-shenyuan4058 sourcing refills is definitely the number one limitation, I'm starting to find solutions by buying a hole puncher so I can put any paper/accessories on it. As for transcribing, I mostly transfer it over to my apple notes when I have time and focus to sit down and expound on a thought from the notebook. My use case for the notebook is to write short ideas, thoughts, time log and to do list. It is meant for short term usage so the turn over of the pages are much quicker. I need it to be that way cause it helps me focus on the things I need to be done. Thank you so much, I appreciate such kind words! I hope to keep it going 😄

I was lured into watching this video by the 50-peso bill peeking through in the thumbnail, and I am definitely not disappointed. While I'm still debating with myself because of the Plotter's price, I love how the manner you used your mini is similar to my taste and needs. Having notes (and more!) in analogue makes it feel more concrete, so I get you when you said they anchor your thoughts. I've only recently considered using binder notes as a commonplace notebook as I initially thought they'd be a bother to reorganise, which in Plotter's price point I may be inclined to be strict about, sadly. (In which case, it will defeat the point of having a portable everything notebook-if I can't even write on it at will with the pressure of using the paper well.) It should've been intuitive but not until this video of yours did I realise I could just take a wallet-sized binder notes to replace my wallet. I think I'll try with a cheaper brand binder notes first to see if the binder system works for me. BTW, thanks for the well-presented vid. : ) I hope this endeavour of yours flourishes.

First got introduced to Micro 5 notebook via Ashford which combines notes and wallet and has cool pen loop that can retract. Got into DaVinci, Knox and Plotter (refills & accessories) while on Amazon Japan. While the plotter thin cover and 11 mm rings did entice me I still keep away due to prices. Being a stationary addict and newly interested in fountain pens got me broke 😭. I practiced with 11 mm rings with cheaper DaVinci version and seems workable along with my Remarkable 2. My first Plotter bible size shrink cover (love pebble leather) arrived and it is more thin and lightweight than DaVinci. Which Bellroy wallet is at 1:54 ? It looks like something that would work well in my edc

It's the Bellroy Coin Wallet, the leather is so nice. I'm obsessed with how soft it is.

Paper is very much strong enough. If there are broken pages it's because of an error of mine attaching them

How is the paper quality? I enjoy using fountain pens, but most papers will bleed, feather or have bad ghosting.

Unfortunately I don't have a fountain pen to test it on the paper, but I will definitely get one soon!

My mom used to have a Filofax when she was in college and told me that this video reminded her of that. I can definitely see how it would be an awesome pick for bigger notebook sizes as it is way cheaper than the Plotter 😌

The editing was amazing and I appreciated your sharing your past struggles with physical and digital note taking as I’m in that same boat! I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to the plotter just to test out this setup personally (and like many others have said the Filofax style just doesn’t vibe with me 🤷🏽). Side note: at 2:03 can you share what tomtoc bag that is? 🤩 I don’t think I’ve seen that specific color way before.

I was genuinely surprised when i saw that 100 peso bill, dude you're filipino?! Hahaha I'm also just curious if you use this as an everyday carry wallet? I also am interested in buying this notebook case and would like to know if its practical enough to be used as an everyday carry wallet even in the philippines which is heavily cash driven?
@BeefMamsir
@BeefMamsir 12 күн бұрын
@@theanimeboy9953 hello powhz!! Yea I used it everyday as my wallet! It can hold a decent amount of cash and coins too but I like to limit it so it's not too bulky. I mostly do gcash/maya transactions and have cash just for when it's unavailable 😌
