Some unpleasant sounds I can think of are; 1. The alarm noise in the Metal Gear Solid series which still makes me jump every time I hear it. 2. The Mad Piano chomping it's teeth in Super Mario 64. 3. That strange and ominous music in Lego Star Wars III, the one with the zombie lego geonosians. 4. The sounds of Ghast in the Minecraft Universe. 5. The sounds of those bastard bees make when one uses them in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transform. 6. The warning sound of the Blue Shell about to hit me in any of the Mario Games. 7. Fucking Smeargle's cry 8. Sonic is about to drown timer 9. The Psycho's screams in Batman Arkham Asylum 10. The eerie theme in the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time, especially in the area where the hand are going to grab you.

Oh yeah, one of the most annoying sounds in games: The sound of Zombies eating your plants in Plants vs. Zombies. All those fortifications you worked so hard to build, GONE.

The "New Challenger!" Sound Effect from Melee. I can't even explain this. It just makes me feel EXTREMELY uneasy.

Hypnosis and Supersonic (Gen 2): they're grating, you hear them all the time, and Sleep/Confusion suck to deal with. Also, Super Salvador, which needs no explanation.

I'm with you on putting Pikmin on the list but I'd have to go with that water thing that I can't remember its name from the second game. Just the sound of it dropping from the ceiling and rolling around the labyrinth like levels always makes me want to forget the treasure and go to the next level

A very interesting concept for a list, and a lot of interesting entries! While I don't agree with all the entries (I've stated before that number 8 never bugged me) I found a lot to agree upon and was very entertained by this! =)

You know, now that I've played Smash 4, I've decided that one of my most hated sounds is actually similar to your number 1. I hate hearing the last sound that the Lumas make when they get KO'd by an enemy when I play as Rosalina, which is often because she's my main in those two games. I like to sympathize and think like the character I play as, it helps me play better. But in doing so, I basically become like a parent to the Lumas like Rosalina herself. And when I hear that last sound that the Lumas make upon defeat, I get mad. REALLY MAD! It has led me to many victories since it motivated me to want to get justice/revenge on the fool who did it, but I still prefer not to hear it. It actually helped me figure out a strategy to win matches, even lengthy and crazy ones without losing a single Luma. But at the same time, I kind of wish I could toggle between Lumas to get different stats like Shulk when he switches Monado Arts.... *Sigh* if only playing as Rosalina wasn't so CONFUSING!

I felt this list so much. Especially the Ourne toon from Kid Icarus... gosh, that thing makes me so anxious, especially when you have to pass that one in Chapter 24 very narrowly.

Actually found a surprisingly pleasant example of a low-health beep: Axiom Verge. The beeps, while distinct from the music, synchronizes with it and even quiets down after a bit.

Fi's speech jammer voice. I'll jam her speech with my goddess sword! The SA-X's presence music sends churns in my stomach. The good horrifying churns it should, but makes me uncomfortable with it's footsteps, which is a noise. And with the classic doom, the cyberdemon makes me very tense when it cries out because I know it can one-hit kill me.

Once I heard your description of the pikmin, I knew where it was headed. If I hear that, I stop whatever I'm doing and go find exactly where it was to prevent anymore deaths

I DESPISE low health beeping. Can they at least make it optional? The health bar is there, ff the player doesn't look at it and dies, it's their problem, don't ruin everyone's experience with the beeping. I'm pretty sure just about all of us would prefer a greater risk of dying in a game over that annoying sound. Besides, there are way better ways of doing it. Such as the screen going darker or red, music becoming more intense, heartbeat sound effect, healthbar changing color or flashing...

Mine would be the pikmin cry, navis hay listen and the drowning music from the classic sonic series. A part from that great video, the jokes were funny and makes it stand out from the rest off your videos (there all fantastic but this one is my favorite)

For what I've played of Kid Icarus Uprising so far, the Orne music didn't bother me as much, mainly because I usually saw them and knew of their one hit kill potential because I was actually in any danger. For me, the Reaper's theme, while goofy, puts me a lot more on edge. My first encounter with a Reaper, I mistakenly tried to take it head on, and almost got my ass handed to me. And then my second time hearing the theme, I was going through a corridor and one snuck up behind me... while I was on low health. Yeah, that goofy little ditty now sends me running to the closest cover.

Yeah CJ, I definitely agree with you on #7. I swear, try listening to that in the pitch black dark of night. Nice list, by the way. Oh yeah, and If this even counts, my #1 would be Daisy from Mario, in general.

I don't have a list of 10 sounds I don't like, but one that is always gets my heart racing is when you start hearing chains clinking together in Persona 3, because when you hear that it means the Reaper is approaching, and the Reaper is I believe a level 99 ultra powerful boss, that is arguably stronger than the final boss in the game. Oh and you can encounter him right from the start of the game, so good luck to you and your 2 level 1-10 party members if you run into that guy.

There are some instances where things were being repeated in Boss Fights: Eggman's sound effects during Egg Dragoon Boss Battle(Sonic Unleashed), The Wisp calls during the Nega Wisp Boss Battle(Sonic Colors Wii), Classic and Modern Tails and the others spamming the Super Sonics with "That looks like a warp arm attack!" and "That looks like a homing shot!"

One of your greatest videos Cj! Keep up the good work The unpleasent sound I would choose would be when Sonic is low on air in the first Sonic games. Does that count since its more of a jingle than a sound.

The Pokémon series actually makes the low health beeping pretty cool in Gen 5, with have the beeps go with the music, and make it more tense than annoying.

One of the most unpleasant sounds to me is the Valve logo music. Particularly on new games where when the logo is shown, the man's head turns to you. *shivers*

When you started talking about Pikmin, I thought you were going to talk about the sound the WaterWraith makes when he lands into the battlefield. That sound is incredibly frightening

Sounds that signify what something means? The heavy breathing from Conker's Bad Fur Day (When you fight Buga, the Experiment, or Heinrich). It's not only creepy, but it also means that they're near, and ready to kill you.

For me one of my most unpleasant sounds is the music when you accidentally hit one of the crimson guards in Jak 2. Which really questions the security in haven city if you think about it. you can crash head on with another vehicle and destroy both vehicles and one crimson guard will say "nothing suspicious going on in this part of the city." but touching one crimson guard and You're automatically a criminal. Seriously, I had more sense with the mushroom kingdom's security!

My sister hates Pikmin dying so much that she beat all three games without a single Pikmin dieing, even if it meant resetting a perfect day, it wasn't that fun to watch, but I couldn't agree more, I hate my Pikmin dying, and I reset every time I leave one behind, this list was one of my favorite from you, I loved it.

I think we can mostly all agree of when you hear your favourite character die in the game, even your favourite pokemon fainting, will always be something that sorta haunts you. For me, Especially in (I think it's assassins creed brotherhood) when even one assassin died for me and I had to talk to that fallen assassin AS IT DIED, it sorta broke my heart. Abit like your issue with the pikmin cjszero01 You just get attached and you feel so guilty when they die. I especially feel guilty when I don't make it to the dying assassin :(

When on the topic of Fps. The claymore click from MW2, I didn't really play Cod that much, but i Did play Mw2 for a while AND THAT CLICK WHEN YOU RAN AROUND THE CORNER MEANT INSTANT DEATH.

When you encounter a boss, but the boss theme doesn't play. Instead, the "confronting a powerful enemy" track keeps playing. When that happens, that's a huge sign that you're about to get creamed. Either that, or when you encounter what you think is a normal enemy, but the boss theme plays instead of the usual battle theme, which means the same thing as the first example I gave.

regenerators and iron maidens still haunt my dreams almost 10 years later

Not sure if this game was out when you made this list, but Racheal from Resident Evil Revelations makes me shiver. She chases you around the ship, laughs like a demon, and when you first encounter her, you're alone... cornered. Then later when (spoilers) the ship is about to be sunk, she shows up again with Scagdeads (chainsaw enemies, but worse) and that same laugh.

if you think about it. the number 10 entry is one thing that every single videogame ever created has in common (except for "heavy rain" in which case it doesnt have a gameover screen).

That ghost sound (letting you know it was coming)!in Spelunker. Never knew how to beat that monster... The bullets being fired on a Call of Duty game (and you know they're aiming at you) is also intimidatingly annoying too. Well that's two intimidating things I don't like.

Surprised nothing from Slender was on there, that drum is heart-stoppingly scary, also when you lose a streak in League of Legends and you hear that cold voice just say "SHUT DOWN" I lose a little bit of pride in myself

If you don't know what I'm talking talking (or in this case "typing") about, I mean weapons that are awesome or really fun to use but are much different looking than just being a regular gun, sword, etc. such as the Dubstep Gun from Saints Row 4

On my list, #1 would be the noise that you hear when you get a coin from an enemy in Star Wars Battlefront EA, as for a split second, it sounds like the default iPod alarm

The Sonic Spinball options menu music although I personally think it also sounds hilarious.

There's a lot for me, but two big ones are from the Sonic franchise, the underwater heart attack music and the goodbye Chao music that makes you feel as guilty as hell.
