Has everybody forgotten about Web Woods (DKC 2)? Aside from being extremely hard, it had a bonus that was difficult to get to and, the feature that stood out most of all to me, the sheer length of this level. It goes on friggin' forever!

In Screech's Sprint there's a glitch you can do to avoid racing Screech it makes the level so much easier. When you first approach Screech take damage by a bramble and fly above him for some reason Screech won't move allowing you to breeze through the level

#2 has a really REALLY good shortcut secret thing though

Maybe it's just me, but I never found Mine Cart Carnage or Haunted Hall that hard to complete at all

I agree with all of these except haunted hall. That's always been my favorite level in DK2. I'd replace that one with bramble blast. So...many....barrels

Another level I'd like to mention is Krack Shot Kroc where you have to go through with the Spider in DKC 3 while you're being shot at constantly.

cool video. i was totally waiting for snow barrel blast!! what a god awful impossible nightmare. made me break a few controllers. doesn't help that you slip and slide all over too

The first mine cart level in DC has a short cut at the begging of the level, just jump over the barrel and off the cliff- short cut to the very end of the level. The first snow level in DC also has a short cut were you aim one of the barrels down

This is one of my favourite franchises ever! I've played all three so much it's unreal and this list reminds me of just how frustrating the games can be regardless of how much you've played them in the past.

Agreed on all counts, especially the top three. The reprehensible Toxic Tower would probably be my first, though.

You should include Kong Fused Cliffs of DKC3 on your list. Man, i hate that level sooo much. On Snow Barrel Blast there's a hidden auto-barrel that's below the 3rd one on the last session. It'll get you almost to the end of the stage.

Nostagia!!! I actually loved the lightning level on DK3. DK3s hidden rocket level was the worst, reminded me of the Dk1 level on the timed platform. But that vine level and level with all the animal friends and the toxic on DK2 gives me nightmares

Web Woods took so long for me to beat as a kid, I still hold hatred for it to this day. My top 10 in no particular order (from when I was a kid)... Mine-Cart Carnage Tanked Up Trouble Bramble Scramble Castle Crush Toxic Tower Animal Antics Web Woods Ripsaw Rage Kong-Fused Cliffs Rocket Rush Looking at my list I noticed most of these are auto-movement levels.

The lost levels really are the hardest. Swoopy Salvo and Animal Antics. Oh my gosh. Excluding those, Toxic Tower defs gave me the most grief.

Okay, here is a list of almost impossible levels to beat for me and they are Poison pond DKC, that level was almost impossible because you could hardly see a thing and those spiked wheels Windy Well, DKC 2 because of Zingers being everywhere, i'm telling you I hated those things! Lost world levels were almost impossible and that's all I can think of, i'll let you know if I think of anymore

I was just playing the lightning one and I thought, man this must be the hardest stage in all DKC series (except for special worlds)... and then I searched for this video and I was right thank you

Snow Barrel Blast without the shortcut is easily the most difficult opening world level for any game. The notorious ice and wind physics, coupled by the mirage of enemies tests all of your skills in timing jumps and barrel transitions.

I like this guy more than most other game viewers because he doesn't take it too far like AnimalGuy or whatever his account is and he gets straight down to the point. Good job.

A hint for Lightning Lookout, Always have dixie at the front as she holds the barrel above her head which protects her. Apart from the barrels you can use yellow beetles as well. I had trouble on this level when I played the DKC3 Remake on GBA but now I find it moderately difficult. I died more often on Poisonous Pipline, it was like an insurmountable wall before the final battle.

In Barrel blast there is a secret warp barrel that not a lot of people know about. I discovered it by accident. After the halfway point after the golden rhino jump into the next barrel and shoot yourself downwards and youll come into a secret warm barrel that will blast you directly to the end of the level. Only 1% of people know that

The trick to getting through all those hard levels without any cheats is your memory. I've played this series since I was four and I learned growing up that the idea of this gameplay is your memory and sense of rhythm. I wonder why donkey kong's franchise included a game that involved bongos for rhythm in three games.

In DKC3... The level with the burning rope that you needed to climb. Ahhhh.

I didn't have any problems with Tanked Up Trouble. You don't even need the tire, you can just roll+ jump off of the nearest platform

On Snow Barrel Blast, there is a barrel rotating quickly with two bees and a golden rhino. The if you get in the barrel right after this part and shoot diagonally up and to the right, you will land in a barrel that will take you to the very end of the level.

I never found Lightning Lookout difficult. The easiest way to beat it is to play Dixie and pick up a barrel or lightning bug. That way in case the lightning does hit, you won't get hurt.

Web Woods, Slimb Climb, Toxic Tower, and Lava Lagoon stand out as the hardest levels from DKC2 for me (only one I played). Now a days I can run through 3 no problem, I still die a lot on the old web woods though

I was glad to see Buzzer Barrage on this. That level's never on anyone's "hardest of DKC3" lists, but I think it's a pain. Koindozer Clamber deserves a mention, methinks. Oil Drum Alley and Loopy Lights from DKC1 are hard as well. Other good ones are Parrot Chute Panic and the Rambi beehive one from DKC2 (forget the name). Honestly, I never minded Haunted Hall that much and found Demolition Drain Pipe quite a bit worse than Tearaway Toboggan.

Oh, it so is. For me, it was one of those levels where I would always get so close to the end, then die.

I have never played these games, but knowing how hard and frustrating Donkey Kong: Jungle Climper, i take this for your word.

Snow Barrel Blast has a secret that shoots you past most of the level. I was going to borderline quit on my 3DS until I accidentally found it. Personally one of my most satisfying secrets ever discovered.

I personally had more issues with Slimb Climb, Swoopy Salvo, Fiery Furnace, ALL the wind levels and Kong-fused Cliffs. I do agree on Screech's Sprint and Snow Barrel Blast.

My personal hardest and hated DKC level was DKC2's Lava Lagoon. The main problem was that the main path (being a Ship Hold level) was full of super-hot water that would kill you just by touching it. The only way to get through it was to have Clapper breathe bubbles that would cool the water, but then you have to swim like crazy to get to the next Clapper before the water goes hot again and the Lockjaws end up having steamed Kong for dinner. *shudders*

Everybody knows the wind pattern in Animal Antics by now, and everybody knows the rest of the level is relatively easy. The point is that it doesn't really matter. You can know that it changes direction every 2.5 seconds or so and still die because if you fly too fast while the wind is carrying you, you go into the brambles on the side. And then I believe there are groups of dragonflies and bees that you have to get through. It's a very hard level that was an absolute nightmare as a kid simply for that part. Now I'm better at all 3 games and might only die once or twice on Animal Antics (if at all), but people pretending like the level is easy after you figure out the wind pattern are just blowing smoke out of their asses.

Dood the nightmares are coming back, but you've to admit, those games were gorgeous, had kickass music and just SO addictive

4) THIS was a tricky level. It took LOADS of patience to get through. 3) Rattley's part was tough, but I got through with practice. 2) This one is a pain in the butt... The blizzard, the spinning barrels, and the Zingers all add to one big mess. 1) This...was...a NIGHTMARE. The hardest standard level in DCK3 without a doubt in my opinion.

Other than Toxic Tower in DKC2, the Red Hot Ride was very tough. I had no idea how to move that balloon. It took me a lot of time to clear that level.

Storywise, K.Rool never controlled the kackles. The kackles were already on Crocodile Isle with their own agendas before K.Rool got there.

Cszero01, you kidding by saying this is hard...Last 1 was probably the most difficult on DKC 1 to 3, but all you need to do is take it slowly and watch out for the lightning, and you will make it easily.

Animal antics I gave up on, it was to the point where I was over the game and having no fun at all so I saved at the Squawk part until I finished it. Still took me around 20 goes.

Mine Cart Carnage has a secret at the VERY beginning. Jump over the first barrel and drop down near the wall and you'll end up in a barrel that sends you the very end, skipping all but one enemy. It's the only secret in that level too. Even without that secret, it isn't all that hard of a level. As for hard levels... um, let me finish DKC3 again and I'll get back to you...

Web Woods from DKC2 lives in my family in infamy. Neither of my parents could beat it, and it took until I was 14 to be good enough to conquer it. To this day it is one of my most hated levels. I love minecart levels, so I've gotten very, very good at pretty much all of them. DKC3 has my least favorite ones, though. I miss the lack of track and having to mash that jump button.

Poison Pond would have been on my list... that level literally drove me to tears once!!! You can only try so many times before it breaks you, haha!!

If he thought Lightning Look-Out was rough, he clearly found a way to glitch past Koindozer Klamber! Seriously, if you don't land right on top of those jerks, they shove you off the nearest ledge? It's insane!

I don't if I was just talented when I was younger or obsessed because I loved Mine Cart Carnage. I was so good at it that whenever my bro would start a new game he would have me take over for that level.

With some I can agree a little. ;c) Problems with the first cart-level in DKC1 in world 2? Switch to Diddy and jump over the first barrel that would shoot you into the cart just at the start and steer towards the wall. Surprise, surprise! ;-)

I actually like the mine cart levels. In Snow Barrel Blast, I’ve figured out the timing so it’s not as hard for me and I accidentally found a shortcut to bypass them completely and it takes you all the way to the exit, but it’s risky to try to find it again and I always forget which barrel it’s under. Any level with the spider and you have to make webs to get across huge gaps were the worst for me like Web Woods from DKC2 and the factory one where they shoot fireballs at you in DKC3.

I totally agree with Snow Barrel Blast being hard. Slipslide Ride in DKC was also hard. In DKC2 I had a hard time with Red Hot Ride, Bramble Scramble, and Chain Link Chamber.

for number 9, u can use the glitch in the dkc1 mine cart levels where u can roll and jump infinite times mid air to the end if you know how to do that.

I didn't have that much trouble with toxic tower,you just have to not panic and take your time with the charged jump.

I still don't have the third DKC (though I don't know if I should bother now that my SNES only works half of the time, IF THAT), but I love the first two... some very nice choices you have there! Oh, and DKCR is one of four somewhat recent Wii-titles I want to get my hands on... and frankly, I don't really have a good excuse for not owning them yet.. -_-

Yo dude, i know this video is eleven years old but this (2:40) isn't a glitch, there are some houses that you can't go under, meaning their sides are walls that kill you in the sled levels. You can tell if you go to the snow village levels where you are on foot and notice there are some houses that you can't go under and others you can. Of course, the visual difference between them is super subtle and there is too little time to even notice in the sled levels so it's still pretty unfair.

For me, some of the hardest levels were any of them where the stages were littered with Zingers. They were everywhere and to top it off, it was harder as a kid growing up with a hellish phobia of wasps and hornets. So the fear of them alone caused the difficulty to sky-rocket. Man you should've seen the look on my face in Rambi Rumble when you drop down the pit behind the red Zinger only to have King Zing ready to jump you when you touch down.

The first level I thought of when I saw the title was the ice cave level with the slippery ropes. Great video as it is well thought out.

Pretty decent list, but come on no animal antics? the part where you have to go with Squawks between 2 thorned vines while the wind blow direction changes constantly is in my mind undoubtedly the hardest level in dkc2

completely agree on #2. Plus it's so far away from a save point, and u have to beat all the other levels after it, and u would probably be low on lives from that level. That and the level is REALLY long.

screech's sprint is easy when you know the glitch to make the bird not start the race sure you wont get the dk coin but it makes it easy to practice without fear of the bird

what ive noticed is for a lot of the parts is that you try to go through the stages as fast as possible which is the main reason why you would die a lot in levels like Buzzer Barrage (which is actually one of my favorite levels) and lightning look out

DKC2 = Animal Antics (sqawks part), Toxic Tower (rattly part), Klober Karnage DKC3 = all tabogan levels, more like memory game with split second reaction time

The level that's given me the most trouble...was Platform Perils from the first one. Oh, how many lives I lost. Dear jeebus...

I will never forget The Mole Train, which is the boss from the cave world in DKCR. Basically, you're riding on a mine cast behind a train and you have to throw bombs at it while avoiding pick axes that are being thrown at you. Sound easy, right? WRONG!!!!

I'll agree with Lightning Look Out at #1. To quote the appropriately titled Metallica song "Ride the Lightning" "Someone help me... OH PLEASE GOD HELP ME!!!" Oh and I'd include DKC1's Loopy Lights. I had to get a new TV for Christmas as a kid to be able to finally beat it

one of the main reasons the first 3 games are so hard, is because the camera is so close to the characters you have very little time to react to what's coming. that's why i like returns th most, because the camera is centered far away from the characters, so everything is fair

i still can't understand why the lightning level is very high in most of the "most difficult levels" lists. When I was a kid and played it, it was really hard, because it felt like the lighting came randomly. but you know when and where a lightning will strike. only the parts when you are inside water are a real danger.

You have got to remake this list with levels from donkey kong country returns. Those levels are insane.

I beat the elevater one after several several tries. A day later my memory got lost for no reason. I made a new 1 2 years later, got to the woods world and again all memory lost

I got through Poisonous pipeline on my second try I never undertood why its on everyone's toughest level list

An okay listt, the only ones I agree with are Screech's Sprint and Poisonous Pipeline. #10 and #1, are actually quite easy if you pace yourself. If you insist on rushing, you're gonna get punished again and again. Lastly, you should really have added Animal Antics. I didn't think The Lost World levels in dkc2 or dkc3 were that difficult but Animal Antics? I've been playing dkc2 for a very long time now and that bramble part with Squawks still drives me crazy.

lot of good memories from the snowy levels. Defiantly hard. Although if I remember right at the very start there's a hidden barrel that shoots you through at least half the level.

#9 if you hop over the Barrel at the start of the level and fall close to the wall then you will enter an other barrel that takes you to the end of the stage

My most challenging levels in DKC2 were (in no particular order) - Glimmer's Galleon: Changing directions caused Glimmer to flash his light at the screen. - Parrot Chute Panic: HOLY FUCK, getting the timing down for moving through and around those zingers was freakin' impossible! - Windy Well: See comment above. - Chain Link Chamber: I was stuck on this one for so long that I actually lost interest in the game for awhile. As for DKC1, I have to go with Blackout Basement for its sheer annoyance.

Does anyone remember Kremwood Forest from DKC3? I was stuck on a level for so long... It was like a maze lol.
