The gear used to catch and release Giant Flathead in this video includes:
3000 Shimano Vanford with 10lb PowerPro Slick 8 braid and 20lb leader. The perfect combo for sending these lures across the flats.
Shimano BB HardRocker S832 MH rod.
Something 4-7 or 4-8kg and 7ft long or more is ideal. Snapper rods with some length are great for it.

Shows it a good clean estuary with Soldier Crabs around. Those Flattie imprints in the sand, mate, what a cracking little session! Funnily enough, that’s what started me fishing all those years ago, and it’s as much fun now, if not better, that still gives you that buzz to keep you coming back! Great stuff John, great to see Motackle have picked up your Flatty Lures too mate! 👍

I don't comment much . Just like to watch and take it all in. That was awesome mate. Really happy to see the soft glides are taking off. Actually sent you an order yesterday for a Mullet Pack. The only one I don,t have. Newly retired and about to get very serious with your soft glides. Will send you some feedback soon.

BEEN GOOD HERE AS WELL. Salmon blue 800 t0 meter not many flathead here big bream mixed up with salmon but now that got me they were good size 390 plus. Thing is found fish in guts of river up on gravel banks top of tide.
