I like your idea of having consistency in running for a longer time before you start the actual marathon training period. That way, you'll be trained and prepared for the marathon training, which is always hard. For the marathon training I would highlight the importance of key workouts, my favourite being the marathon-pace runs that get longer and longer towards the race.

Over the years I’ve started being more mindful that as I ramp up training I may get an injury or get sick. This way should it happen I don’t beat up myself up mentally when this happens. Mental training and conditioning is also important.

I run as it seems to have the biggest carry over to my table tennis besides lifting. Juggling the 3 can be tough but keeps it interesting

I love the Nepalese music in the background 😂 In other news, I managed a 4 mile jog today!

GO GO Marc!!! Mmmmm Nepalese food after a hard training session sounds awesome!! My favourite is a super yummy Mexican place overlooking the River Seine just downstream from the Eiffel Tower here in Paris… the Veggie Bowl is even better after a hard workout!!😋😋 I find that very regular yoga (2-3 times per week), with the barefoot balancing exercises, makes a huge huge difference with both recovery and improving my foot/ankle strength and balance, AND phenomenal for recovering from niggles without compromising my running volume!! I couldn’t do the volumes I do without itI’m sure!! OF COURSE I do very regular strength training too!!

Oh that sounds really good Bev! I'm well overdue a visit back to Paris, I used to live there. Good to hear you have your routine locked in. I'm quite 'inflexible', but I do always do some active stretching/dynamic after a run.

Good luck with training Marc! BTW, I just bought myself the Suunto Vertical Titanium Solar plus the red and yellow 'Suunto' branded watch bands. I had the 9 Baro previously and really like the new Vertical! Glad to see another video from you my friend!

Such superb insight into what you've been up to Marc. Once again the food chat has made me hungry. That curry looked 11/10 👌 Completely agree about the training plan points towards the end. Very important to know what works for you best. In terms of my training I just make it all up as I go along 🤣 Look forward to seeing what you get up to throughout March mate 😉

Thanks Ben, I can confirm that it was really tasty :D You're doing a great job with your running, such amazing progress! Give it another couple of years and I bet you'll scare yourself how good you have become. (I mean it's already amazing right now)

Mmmmmm naan bread... 😋🤤 if there was only one carb I to choose for rest of my life, it would be white rice from nepalese restaurant 😂 What about you Marc, favourite carb?
