There are oil changes (ATF in the two transaxle gearboxes) once a year, brake fluid changes every other year and battery coolant changes every four years. Maintenance through Tesla costs from $400 to $800 per year, depending on what is due.

I've been saying this for a while now, but Tesla is the biggest bang for your buck. You will not find a more technologically advanced and faster car for the same price.

Well the A8 from Ingolstadt has every Tesla beat when it comes to build quality, and real Cat 3 "selfdriving" autonomy. Tesla has regrettably become a bully, with a boiler room PR operation similar to Murdoch's over at News Corp. - attack, attack, attack. Tesla used US taxpayer funds during a recession to create an entity who pays sub-standard industry wages and benefits, and willy-nilly fires it's workers when they feel fit. They'll either unionize (which the UAW will make sure of), or fail because they didn't do so. The sheltered Silicon Valley geeks (I live in Menlo Park so don't get me started), or the wanna be ones like the boy owner in this video, think social responsibility is about carbon dioxide - guess what, it's also about social justice and job protections. That will become apparent soon enough when the CA legislator reels in Tesla due to their abhorrent labor practices in the next 24 months. Watch and learn kids.

The Tesla is some car! It is really nice. I can tell your mom loved it. How many miles (km) can you go before recharging (like on longer trips? Are charging stations frequent enough - say, foe trip across the TransCanada?

5:25 ya forgot the damn item the contains the axle(s) that allow the wheels to turn. That's also a moving part....always on any vehicle with wheels on it whose entire purpose is for the wheels to turn/roll so that the vehicle can actually move. (Facepalm)

Alison is funny; "Officer, I wasn't driving". That phrase may have a lot more significance than it seems to now. How would that hold up in a court of law if someone accused me of causing damage? I'm certain the automakers have foreseen that and written legal language to protect themselves. But then, the cars won't hit anything anyway. It's a partial answer to those nut jobs using cars as weapons, in that a Tesla won't drive down the sidewalk, and it certainly won't run into people.
