No kpop fan would ever get offended by someone saying the idols look "kinda" feminine. TBH that's one more of the reasons we love them, so nice to see young men who are not affraid to show their feminine side. BTW, I like your mom, she is so cool...

Jimin is the member who opened the song and you said looks androgynous- he does move gracefully almost feminine because he trained in college in contemporary dance but he also did hip hop. One more thing if you do a little research on KPop, as Suga once said K-pop is a combination of aesthetics - the make up, the costumes, the colors and a lot of song and dance, hours of hard training, discipline, etc. it takes years of training before they even debut that in 2-3 years when they do, they're pros. BTS has the most swag and confidence that it exudes from them with every performance. And that's the draw for me. Well apart from they make me happy and smile all the time just by their existence.

I discovered BTS by accident and curiosity got me to listen to more, Captions On, from there I was lost to the BTS rabbit hole) They are fantastic musicians, they can sing, rap & dance, they write a lot of their own lyrics and are involved in production. Their lyrics, often focus on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work also often references literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline. "BTS," actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." BTS = Bangtan Sonyeondan which literally translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts in English. People may call them Bangtan Boys, but it also has a meaning of Beyond the Scene. I don't see anything wrong being feminine, they are beautiful and they know that and teach people being themselves. That's the reason they broke up the barriers about masculinity shouldn't be careful about theirs skins and beauties.

Nice to hear your mom's perspective. I am a 63 year old BTS fan and couldn't love them more. You talked about how "artistic" Boy With Luv was...Black Swan and Blood, Sweat & Tears are very artistic as well. RM is the 4th oldest in the group....but yes he is the leader. I understand that people find them a bit feminine compared to what we are used to in the west..I was a little taken aback at first too. Korea has very different beauty standards compared to what we are used to, but since discovering BTS I think my image of "masculinity" has completely changed. Korean men are more what we would call "pretty" in the west..almost like anime characters. I find them all beautiful. They have great respect for Michael Jackson and often incorporate some of his dance moves as a tribute to him. Thanks for reacting.

BTS is a group that has been in the industry since 2013, with a lot of music and art production, concept albums, and playing many styles of music production. They are global artists, the most important at the moment. They produce their music and lyrics all 7 of them as a team, and with an incredibly talented production team working from the ground up. Talent talent and more talent. Work and more work. For me that defines them. And his projects, which are by and for the people, with empathy never seen before, from my point of view. Tell your mother than every member is very much a manly man. Especially if you see them outside their certain music videos. Saying Jimin is feminine based on the videos is maybe understandable but is so wrong. BTS are so talented in making their own music, their relationship and love for their fans, choreography, vocals and rap. But their fans love them for their personalities mostly. If she got to know each member and their incredible integrity she would think so differently about them. I’m in my sixties and love these guys.

This is why they are the biggest group in the world right now. Because they don't stick to one sound/genre. Their whole discography appeals to everyone's taste (be it pop, hip hop, trap, Latin pop, R&B, rock, EDM, Afrobeats..they have it all). Their poetic and mature lyrics that tackle real issues is the reason why they have fans of all ages and genders and not just hormonal teenage girls ( I am a full time medical student in South Africa myself and I am a big fan of theirs). By the way, Boy With Love is a song towards the fans not a romantic love song ( they are basically thanking the fans for giving them the fame they now have). If you are interested, I recommend you check out "This Is BTS: An Introduction To BTS" by xCeleste. It is a video that kinda explains what they stand for, their dynamic as a group and why they are popular. I became a fan after checking that video out.

I don’t see why ppl would get offended because it’s true. I’m part of army & as a westerner in the United States when I first encountered BTS that’s the first thing I noticed their soft features but now that I have educated myself more on their culture well that’s just part of the Korean genes they don’t have strong rough features like other races. It’s ok your mom was being honest but respectful which is what matters to army :)

Their songs are always meaningfull. 😊For example their Album Map of the Soul(if I am not mistaken) is best on the psycology of Carl Jung. Rap line in the album has the solos Intro: Persona, Interlude: Shadow, Outro:Ego. 🥰Or their song Blood sweat and tears is based on the book Damien of Heman Hesse.
