That’s Jimin in Black Swan. Jimin is a properly trained contemporary dancer, top of his school. He dances so beautifully I’d cry real tears when I watch him sometimes.

they don't use playback. in the more complicated choreographies they use backing tracks, but still sing. Kpop groups are generally trained to sing while dancing. so they have really really great vocal and breathing control. comes with a lot of practice.

If you react to the live performances you will see that they totally sing during the dance( They have backing tracks and choirs in the complicated choreography, but they always sing, their vocal stability is amazing. At the concerts they are totally live. I think in Korea it is law sing 90% live, only choral tracks and melodic base) As for your selection of songs, I found it interesting. For Black Swan, the location they filmed is called Los Angeles Theater in Los Angeles, California. It first opened its doors back in 1931.

For the ON video, you might be interested to know that the girl front and centre at the very beginning of the MV is the choreographer of the piece. Her name is Sienna Lalau and she was 19 when she choreographed this masterpiece. Black Swan and ON were both filmed in LA...there are "behind the scene" videos for both to show the making of the music videos. RM was the first member of BTS, but he didn't put the group together...it was put together by the CEO of BigHit Entertainment at the time named Bang Shi Hyuk (also called Bang PD or Hitman Bang). RM falls right in the middle as far as ages go...3 other members are older than him and 3 are younger, but he is the leader and incredibly mature. Jimin (the dancer in Black Swan) has formal training in contemporary dance in high school. He definitely shone bright in that MV and it's incredibly artistic. All the pop culture posters etc in the room at the beginning of Dynamite are setting the tone for the retro feel of the song....it's a 70s disco pop track (although some of the posters are pre-70s) which pays lots of tributes in the dance and lyrics to Michael Jackson (MJ's nephew thanked them for all the nods to his uncle). ON and Black Swan are very deep lyrically and based on Jungian theory (shadow, etc) whereas Dynamite was meant to be a light mood lifter early in the pandemic. I think you and your mom would love reacting to a KZfaq docu-series about BTS called "The Rise of Bangtan" ...it's an incredibly informative video about their journey starting as trainees and it's the best thing out there about them. ON manifesto wasnt a Live performance, for an audience at least. Otherwise we would have seen microphones in hand or at the mouth. They were not on STAGE. There must have been a track THROUGHOUT the performance as is the case when shooting an MV, even though this is not an official MV. We can say it is MV2? RM did not create the group BTS. He was the first one to become a trainee for BTS in 2010 n then other 19 joined him. At the end,only he along with rest of the 6 members made it to the BTS as a complete grp n he became the leader. But there were times when bighit was contemplating whether to keep some of members in the grp or not (V n jimin) n when some members willingly wanted to leave the grp b4 debut(jungkook n jhope)...but RM played a major role in persuading both the company n the members. He held the grp in a way. But yeah...its not wrong to say that he did created the grp indirectly.

Dynamite is their first all-English song. That’s why it’s a bigger hit than On and Black Swan. But personally I prefer their Korean songs coz they have got way more depth. Basically one must look at their entire discography to learn what amazing artists BTS are. But of course all their English songs are pop songs of the highest level that are sooooo good to enjoy. The English songs also came out during the pandemic and quite intentionally meant to be these happy fun songs that cheer everyone up.

Dynamite by BTS was produced by a Brtisher David Steward. It has funk, soul and pop elements. It was also a tribute to Michael Jackson and acknowledged by his family who never fail to tweet about them on some imp occasions. It has nothing to do with Kpop. Just Korean artistes singing a song produced by a western musician.

Black Swan is a total masterpiece!! The visuals, the dancing, the lyrics and melody combine in such a satisfactory way it's almost unbelievable. And the meaning behind it just hits even harder bc of the fact that they're letting us see the "not so bright" side of them, talking about loosing view, passion and inspiration (they used a quote by Martha Graham to reflect that, "a dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful"). It's always nice to see someone appreciating their hard work. PS: I think the one that caught your attention during the reaction was Jimin^^ he is formed in contemporary/lyrical dance, got a scholarship and graduated as the first in his class. You can read these writers own words on how they came to write it. The only producer credited for this is David Stewart. It’s sung entirely in English and the melody and beats are entirely disco retro pop. The only Korean element is the nationality of the singers. So ya we do continuously wonder why Dynamite Butter and Permission To dance are still referred to as Kpop. The only 1 take video is save me. There is a behind the scenes video of making this mv, V hurt himself during this shot, the zipper on his jacket hit him in the eye .

They have been singing live since day1...even with such intense choreos. They hit every note so perfectly. Ofcourse the song is playbacked but its only about 10-20%...very minimum. Rest all is live. In concerts n in some music shows,they do sing live 100%. For rest its either 10-20% playback n rest live or 0% playback n 0%live bcoz they don't bother to attend those shows.😂 Edit: in official MVs there's no live singing ofcourse...or else how it can be a MV?? Its a performance on a pre-recorded studio version of the song.

There's ON DOCUMENTED behind the Scenes by Bts official youtube channel is BANGTANTV. All of their music MV has deep theories...lyrics too.

These are music videos, they lipsync there. BUT!!! When they are live, they are LIVE. In KPop artists (BTS included) practice singing while running the threadmill. They do that throughout their careers to keep a stable singing voice. In concerts and live performances they have a back track which you can hear when e.g. one of them want to show they are live and stops rapping/singing and you can hear very very quietly and muted the back track. ON and Black Swan were shot in LA January 2020, On on the actual Sepulveda Dam and Black Swan was shot in the Los Angeles Theatre. Dynamite was shot in Korea with green screens as it was shot during the first wave of the pandemic.

I think for the video there is playback but what I can tell you, and if you have seen them live then you know, that they are 100% authentic. All mvs are playback that's how they are made. Everyone should know this. Obviously live is a different matter BTS sing live no question.. but an mv is always filmed using playback because that's just how its done.
