Something to think about, In Roth, you are paying around 28% now since you are a high income earner, versus being taxed on your retirement years when you are at around 12% tax since you are no longer working.

And save for a house so you don’t have to pay rent. The interest on a mortgage is tax deduction but rent is not. Just a thought.

Max your 401k so you pay less tax. Since you do not have any dependents or deductions. Thats one of my regrets.

Max your Roth IRA every year. FYI meron din traditional IRA, very similar to 401k but you deduct the contribution on your tax return. Remember to invest it and not just contribute! I follow the boglehead strategy for the most part in my investments. Any money in Roth IRA is tax free at retirement. And so if you have 1M in there, it won't be taxed anymore since your contributions are already taxed. Max your 401k too if you can, FYI there is also Roth 401k depending on employers. Again, don't just contribute in it, you need to invest it. Roth basically means that you contributed after-tax dollars, meaning at retirement you won't pay taxes. Anyways, kahit Roth pa yan or traditional, it doesn't matter as long as your saving and investing it. It all ends up the same amount at the end of the day if Roth you are taxed now, if traditional you are taxed at retirement.

@@nursegem anytime! Also general rule is to save and invest at least 15% of your salary for your retirement. So if you earn 100k yearly you need to put in 15k yearly into retirement to maintain your current lifestyle. Kung gusto mong bongga retirement mo you need to save 20% or more 😃

@@nursegem your welcome, good luck on your journey here in the US. Been here for 12+ years now, my only advise is to live below your means or else you'll end up homeless! Check out Dave Ramsey and the Money Guy Show for tips on retirement, savings, emergency fund etc.
