Hi Michael! Yet another impressive stack of records indeed. Congrats! Your copy of Gentle Giant's first album is a reissue from 1971. The change in the layout on the label, where the "Vertigo" logo was moved below the spindle hole happened sometime in early to mid 1971. I have had both the first issue and this very same reissue and they sounded the same to my ears. A great album. Three Friends might be my favourite Gentle Giant album.

Michael, just watched Parts 1 and 2 back to back. Wonderful finds. You’ve inspired me to do a future video on my Krautrock albums that I’ve owned since the early to mid 70s. Of course not as extensive as yours but interesting nevertheless. Thanks for showing Kraan, never talked about in the VC. I have an original of Andy Nogger, wonderful album. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

Haven’t been on your channel for a hot second, but this one is a good clip with fun OGs. I miss Germany for the fairs and the prices. Kraftwerk eternal. I’ll be in Germany later in the year, might be lucky to hit a fair. Hervorragend….

Hi Michael, as seen in the video you also stick to German Vertigo pressings. Can you tell me if there's a huge difference in sound in comparison to the UK versions? Thanks for the interesting vid!

G - first record - on the album and record the listing of two songs on the inner has ‘?’ Marks and not on e record.

Have you ever heard of a band called Night Sun? They are a German band from the early 70's

I have a sample copy of Patto, same sticker on label. Yet Discogs don’t accept it as such. 🤨

Great covers! These show the importance of creativity and risk taking when creating music and product presentation packages. Musically and visually, much of contemporary music and album art work, sounds and looks flat. Maybe it’s because of fear of the censorious political correctness folks. Maybe it’s because of the technology; digital cameras, audio mixing software and synthetic sounds software, used by artists, musicians and producers. Maybe it’s because of the cautious, fearful and repressed psychology of the times we live in. Handmade drawings, paintings and film photography look more alive and vital to me. Analog recording and playback approaches maintain the life force of the music. Real musicians playing real instruments have emotional energy. Sometimes the old ways are the best - more difficult and inefficient but still the best. Censorship is a very inhibiting force that all artists, producers and consumers must resist.

For Aja the OG German pressing is definitely not the best for a comparison to the UHQR as I don’t believe it’s considered to be a great pressing. The best for a shoot out would be the excellent OG US AB-1006 and the Cisco release.
