Nice video, you really showed and demonstrated the quality and simplicity of the KLAUDIO.( The Designer Peter is a genius and record collector so he thought of everything) Since Acoustic Sounds sells rare original Lps this product improves the grade and condition of the Lp we sell. Also we own a Pressing plant Quality Record Pressing we clean the Test pressing before we play them to get rid of any static or noise. So this machine is a life saver for us and we cannot live without.

So $6500 for the machine and for the silencer and the multiple changer, another $5000! Outrageous! Why would you show something like this!? Has this and the vinyl community become a place to flex and say how much money I have? Seems like to me people who are doing this are saying how rich I am! Go look at my set up where I do eight records at a time in my ultrasonic and it cost me $200! Don’t be misled and don’t believe the hype! If you really are bothered by the sound, which is minimal, set it up out in your garage! My machine still kicks ass on this one and we don’t need to play games with air drying as opposed to forced air drying! Both dry the record so don’t even start with me! I have amazing results and those who have watched my record cleaning video and comment on my videos says that it’s working beautifully for them too! $11,500!!! Beyond outrageous it’s ridiculous! $11,300 for bells and whistles, which is stupid and it doesn’t help make your records any cleaner! Maybe it makes you feel better about your records when you lay that kind of cash out!

If you are doing financially well and want to go ALL IN, for the record adapters, filters, backup parts, the bigger silencing case to accommodate the disc changer, the disc changer itself, without taxes, everything on Acoustic Sounds comes to $13, 813.91. I am not at a level where I can afford a product like this, but I am absolutely putting it on my future wish list. As long as prices don't increase from here, one day in the future, I would absolutely invest in a wonderful state of the art product like this. THIS THING IS A BEAST AND SO ARE THE ADD ONS!

Nice machine for $6,500 + $500 for the singles and 10" inch adapter + $2,600 for the 5 LP cleaning attachment + $1,700 for the silencer.... A real bargain for people living in assured poverty. Seriously, has anyone ever thought about the material value of the parts used. It may be the best cleaning machine in the world, but I'll stick with microfiber cloths, cleaning solution of isopropanol, distilled water and wetting agent. Drying is done with my old Okki Nokki. Top results and no scratches by cleaning, as the manufacturers of this expensive money washing machines always want to tell us.

I use a guy in Wisconsin who’s company is called Perfect Vinyl Forever. His cleanings are extraordinary - it’s like the veil has been lifted when I get them back. He also flattens warped records. Of course there is a price, including freight. But, offset against the expense of a Klaudio machine and the time I would have to spend cleaning them myself, I think of the price as quite reasonable. I learned about Perfect Vinyl Forever from your pal and colleague Danny.

A second point, if you don’t touch the playing surface of the records, handling them by the edges and the labels, your vinyl cleanings will go very far in maintaining the quality of your collection. You here is meant for the readership, Michael 45 handles his records properly. However, some KZfaqrs put their fingers all over the grooves; it makes me cringe when I see that.

I've been interested in starting with that service, but looking at the site online, it wasn't entirely clear to me if they still offer the $5 per lp cleaning service, or just the $8 one and up. If the two basic levels are still offered, have you tried both, and if so, what is your personal sense of the relative difference between the two- the ultra-deep 2.0 cleaning and the archival 3.0 level? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations Michael. Looks like you have went all out. The unit is $6,500. For those looking at the price the multi changer is not necessary Not having seen one in action it looks a little risky to not scratch up your records when you load or remove them. Comments? The silencer is very useful. $1,700 for the single design and $2,360 for the jukebox 5 lp adaptor. I have the single and can listen critically 2 rooms away. There is a much smaller silencer which fits the machine without the 5 lp adaptor. Only distilled water. Period. You are the only person who showed it actually running - thank you But you should have shown the external tanks so someone has an idea of what they are getting into space wise. Where do you have it located? I have the original LP-200 which has a self contained reservoir and pump. Sturdy as a tank, drain ever 100 records or so. Drain with hose, tilt to get all water out. Unscrew the back - clean the minor residue on the walls of the water reservoir with a cloth. Simple, effective, self contained, slick. It looks like the new model is super easy to clean. It is not a chemistry lab. I have owned mine since fall 2013 ($4K) and in 8 years have cleaned over 4,000 records flawlessly. So rest assured you will get long life with the KLaudio. I am glad to see other options in the ultrasonic crowd. And lower prices like the DeGritter. I am glad Chad Kassem at Acoustic Sounds got KLaudio to keep making these. If you have a big collection this is like a significant cartridge upgrade and the ease of use - slip the record in and forget it - is wonderful. Who wants to slave over records?

Thank you for the video review of the Klaudio and some of the accessories. I too replaced my Audiodesk with the Klaudio last May. I found your comments to be the same thing I would have said if I was writing the review The Klaudio does an amazing job and when I clean a record I previously cleaned with the Audiodesk it is even quieter. .Based on your review of the 5 disc changer, I ordered it after watching your review for the second time. I just got it this morning and I love it. I can see where the design should be foolproof, with one possible exception. That is the pin you use to secure the changer in place on top of the Klaudio. You remove one hex screw to receive the pin on the changer. I assumed it would also be threaded to securely attach to the female screw threads. However mine is just a pin and the diameter is smaller the the screw hole. The changer can rock about an 1/8" / 3mm up and down. Also where the new pin isn't threaded and doesn't screw in or lock in any way, I worry that the pin could be dislodged accidentally, causing the changer to fall off the Klaudio. Does your machine work this way with a loose pin? Also on your video, your Klaudio sat on a rubber pad the looks like it was custom made just for the Kladio with corner marks etc. Where did you get that? I don't see it on either the Acoustic Sounds website or Klaudio. Thanks again for the great video. You have simplified my life. I often get 10 to 15 records at a time and this will be great. InI fact I am in my office typing this while a batch of 5 records are washing in my Kitchen. I can now clean records and have 50 minutes of uninterrupted time.

If you have one of those Classic Records 45rpm discs, where one side is blank, it would be interesting to see if the Klaudio leaves that surface clean and shiny. Sure, Klaudio is awesome, but few of the vinyl lovers can afford it... very good alternative is Knosti Disco-Antistat 2 (white version) together with Disco-Antistat Ultraclean concentrate. Another improvement is additional rinsing in the second disco-antistat bath (can be bought separately) with demineralised water only. This additional step improves cleaning and adds shine to the record. Highly recommend you to try it - it is fairly affordable option. Even old dirty records become clean after this method (you should clean dirty LPs for a bit more time). I can't see any signs of dirt on the stylus with this cleaning method. Before that, I have also rinsed LPs under the tap - you will be surprised about the improvement! By the way, don't be afraid of non-alcohol Disco-Antistat Ultraclean fluid, it works VERY good, I thought that IPAlcohol is a must to clean all that dirt from old records, but it is not...

It may be my eyes, it may be my screen but whilst that record is being dried and when you hold it up it would appear that there is a mark on that record it shows at 5:16 and 5:31, maybe its the light but sure looks like a mark in the vinyl. Anyway, thats for you to check and investigate. Cleaning records is so so important, even with my modest collection each record is cleaned prior to being inserted into your recommended sleeves and then sealed in decent reusable outers, and it makes a big difference to the sound. One day when I win the lottery I'll upgrade to that beautiful cleaner, but for now I just dream about owning one. Nice video.

The record changer add-on, while it sounds great in theory, looks like it would be matter of when, not if, a record gets scratched by those metal arms as you're trying to load. I was holding my breath as you were demonstrating it fearing you'd scratch a record! There's a way to change the design, though, that would eliminate that potential problem - maybe Peter might rethink that a bit.

Many people think we're crazy for, not paying for the Klaudio, but _investing_ in one. When you have a precious anything that you collect, you wakt to preserve it. I began really taling special care of my vinyl in the early 00s, collecting since the 80s really. But I wish I had cared better for my things. Anyway, I sure would like that mylti disc cleaning accessory! Edit: the noise has never bothered me... it's a small price for the results, right? Mine stays upstairs in the back room, can't hear it. But I wasn't aware there was a dang silencer and that thing is pretty impressive! That's significant to near entire silencing of the process. I really need to pay more attention to the accessories of the Klaudio, even if I may not be buying them. Perhaps someday? It's all a process, no? 😉

Hi Michael, thanks for all you videos! also for this video 😉. What i´m missing is something how maintenance is to be done, how often? Can you do that by yourselve or does it have to go back to the manufactor? Do you have to change filters? Cleaning fluid? can you mix it at home or do you buy it?

From the standpoint of an “industrial” solution, this machine is unique in the market. However, from the standpoint of actual cleaning results, it is not. A machine like the Humminguru operates at the same frequency (40KHz) and has similar cavitation power per unit volume (60 watts but is energizing 400ml of water compared to the ~1/2 gallon of the Klaudio). The Degritter machine operates at 120KHz with 300 watts - the higher the frequency the smaller the bubbles so it gets in deeper into the groove. Additionally, the Degritter filters the water DURING cleaning (like a pool skimmer) removing the debris from the water as it comes off of the record. The Klaudio filters the water as it is sucked into the machine from the external tank. If you are looking for a machine that will clean your records as perfectly as possible, you might consider other options.

Btw cleaning fluids are not just soaps. Surfactans for example assists the cleaning by reducing the surface tension which is acts like barrier between the fluid/bubbles and the record surface. Paying 10k for the complete cleaning equipment and than using just distilled water is like putting the cheapest available oil into your Ferrari (just to pick up the Ferrari example of the video)

It looks amazing and the reviews that I have seen are awesome. However there’s more than a bit of product placement in there and Chad’s endorsement might be seen as a little less than impartial? However I don’t doubt how great it is though and, despite the cost, might one day be tempted if it retailed in the UK.. I can’t pay FedEx any more (cash on demand on the doorstep). Keep up the good work Michael.

I was one of the first persons to make a comment on Massies post about having to wash a record after using Tergikleen. I recently had to colored disc get a permanent haze to the record while using Tergikleen and an ultrasonic cleaner. It is possible it happened to me because the records dried first before I rinsed them. I believe I will no longer use Tergikleen. I do use all distilled water as well.

Great video and great machine...I thought my pre-SME Loricraft PRC4 was expensive! I got a nosebleed from the heights of the Klaudio:)! But it's worth it with a huge record collection and great system... I would love to know how the Loricraft 4 compares to the Klaudio for single records.

The Loricraft is a nice RCM - It and the Keith Monks are a lot of labor, vacuum well but doesn’t go as deep as the ultrasonic catenation process. The KLaudio sounds much quieter, micro details, really removes gunk in the grooves even the bonding elements in new vinyl.

@@audiotomb The Loricraft 4 takes 1+ minute per side with a hospital grade pump. It supposedly sucks everything out of the groove using L'Art du Son liquid.....I would be so curious to see EM scans of records cleaned from both machines......I just watched a video from 2014 with Mark Baker of Origin Live. In it, he praised the Loricraft 4 as the best way to clean records and how it can rejuvenate recently bought, uncleaned records that don't play well. I will be emailing him to see if he has changed his mind to the new RCM's out there. The Klaudio+5 records looks fantastic though.

The problem with the Humminguru and others like it is that they are underpowered devices, not able to create the cavitation bubbles needed to clean a record well. They might be OK for "lite cleaning", but not nearly as effective as a "real" ultrasonic cleaner like the KLAUDIO. Any ultrasonic cleaner using a wall wart or power brick for a power supply should be looked at long and hard before purchase. They are convenient so there is that and not as messy or time consuming as vacuum systems. But the vacuum systems likely provide a better result at a similar price point.

My sense, is that Michael is an honest and fair minded person, but the added special production values, while excellent, took the video, for me, into infomercial territory. Particularly with the addition of the emotional music. I do feel, though, that the basic content of the video was useful to us viewers. It stands in stark contrast to the recent video, with the bad sound and video, about clear covers for album jacket covers. With my respect to Michael, his regular calm and honest videos, for some time now, look and sound excellent!

Michael Congratulations on your new Ultrasonic. Does the silencer keep your whippet from getting annoyed.? Could you please show how the external tanks handle the water and debris? Mine has been invaluable having cleaned around 5,000 records in the last 10 years. The KLaudio has been around since 2013. The original design is great - bigger with a self contained water tank - all in one - you don’t need an outside tank - you drain the chamber every 100 records, the water is just barely discolored. You wipe the small amount of film out of the tank from the back access, refill the water chamber and back to clean another 100 records. Straight Distilled water, nothing else - also confirmed by Tim at KLaudio. The silencer on the old one is much smaller and you can’t use it with a multi loader. I get nervous watching someone handle 5 records in a multi loader stack - easy opportunity to scratch something while handling lps. Not to mention imho the huge price better spent on records or a cartridge upgrade. It is very easy to just set a timer or walk by and pull the record out at 8 minutes and load another one. You also do NOT have to clean a record repeatedly with the KLaudio - once and you are good to go. Just place the lp in a good sleeve and use a reliable soft dry brush before playing. It removes static from records as well. Have fun

A Gartner Analyst recently wrote in a research note - “Product roadmap slides obtained from Klaudio suggest electron microscope capabilities within the next 12-24 months. They’ve recently hired key wireless engineers from Cisco Systems, so we should anticipate mobile users being able to view what will appear to look like boulders being dislodged from the record surface. This should open up a new sales channel for Klaudio in a space we’re currently coining as Anal Audio Retentives or “AAR”.

Just thinking on all this "cleaning talk" & yes I do clean my LPs old and new when I get them (using a VPI) but all those Near Mint Original LPs we buy - from the 60s & 70s that sound so fantastic - do you think people back then had all these expensive cleaners? Did they fuss and preen over the LPs like we are encouraged to do? And yet how do they sound those old pressings? Superb compared to new pressings & re-issues - those old LPs survived and still sound fabulous despite not having a VPI or sonic cleaning - they likely were lucky if they saw a cleaning cloth! I think this is all just getting crazy 😜

Michael- How could you neglect to mention the price? Isn’t that of major importance? This looks like a great machine but only for the well-heeled. Except for the silencer, I don’t see the advantage over the Degritter, which depending on accessories can be 1/2 to 1/3 the price. Yes, with the KLAUDIO you can clean five records at once. I can clean five records on the Degritter in probably the same time. Admittedly, I couldn’t clean them all at once but who cares? You still have to take them all out of the sleeves and put them back in again. Yes, you can clean all five without being in the room. But for the price, I don’t mind coming back a few times to load a new record.
@ericlubow4354
@ericlubow4354 Жыл бұрын
To clarify the above, you can load five records at once but only clean one at a time. So essentially, the amount of time needed to clean five records is about the same as the Degritter depending on time cycles.

Hi Michael, Guten Tag. Great video. Looks like the KLaudio KD-CLN-LP200T and it's accessories is a great Record Cleaning Machine (RCM) system & machine. Since it's been well over a year now since you have had and used the KLaudio KD-CLN-LP200T and it's accessories, are you still impressed with it ? Have you had any issues with it ? Have you compared the KLaudio LP200T with the Degritter MK2 or any other RCM ? I currently have the Keith Monks Classic (KMC) RCM (which the BBC Archiving Department used to use to clean their records) which I use for a Pre-Wash and Rinse Wash. I would now like to also buy an Ultrasonic RCM to do a final wash and rinse after the KMC RCM. I am considering whether to go down the DIY route (i.e. buying and using an Elma Elmasonic Ultrasonic Bath (Model: P120H - which has 35kHz and 80kHz ultrasonic cleaning frequencies) with a Kuzma RD Ultrasonic Cleaning Kit) or buy the KLaudio KD-CLN-LP200T or the Degritter MK2. The concerns I have with the KLaudio RCM is 1) the very high cost, 2) If it breaks down I would need to ship it overseas to the US (I currently am based in the UK), 3) It only has the one (40kHz) ultrasonic frequency. Your views on my questions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Danke.

I have the ultrasonic from the polnish guy on ebay and it works well with with my 6LP variant. No fast drying sadly but I can handle that. There are to many records that look perfect after cleaning and still producing pops which drives me crazy. Don´t know if the Klaudio really removes everything, I would expect that for this price. looking with a microscope should show you nothing after cleaning. Is it that way Michael? Can you be sure and feel relaxed when you put an cleaned LP on? With my solution it is always stressing wondering if it sound silent or not and THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH for my taste The 'In' Groove did show this Klaudio machine once and I was interested in it, but would only consider if EVERY record gets is pops removed. Scratches sure are a different thing but a good looking LP shouldn´t create any pops IMO

This is the machine for those who spend $20K on a turntable. The rest of us have to se our sights much lower. I can't even justify a Degritter for what I have to pay in Canada let alone a Klaudio at $10K. Charles Kirmuss machine is waaay more affordable at $1300 Can. HGs are much cheaper but a lot of people are complaining about reliability. VPI or Pro-ject vacuum systems are more cost effective. Spin Clean is much too expensive for what you get, that's a clear rip-off ($2 of injection molded plastic). Audiophile$. They see us coming from a mile away.

On a personal note I find it rather annoying that when u buy an audiophile pressing for 100 Euros plus that it isnt cleaned from the beginning. I hear these arguments that its dirty produktion etc and you must clean but if you are a serious audiophile label why not clean the records before delivery. Why deliver out dirty products? Why deliver a product that isnt optimal when so much energy is spent on improving everything else?

Hi Michael, Guten tag. How's it going with your KLaudio LP200T ? Michael, Assume you have been using your LP200T for some time now, have you needed to clean inside the machine in particular the internal tank and if so, how have you managed to clean it with it being a sealed unit (unlike the older LP200 model which had a large cap you could unscrew to get inside the tank and with a stick and cloth able to reach all of the edges and corners !) ? And if you haven't cleaned, and or visually inspected the internal tank, how do you know the internal tank is clean and that no particulate debris is finding it's way to the surface of the record ?
