Hey carl, here's a quick breakdown of rare cards. You start the game with a -2% chance for any given card seen in a card reward to be a rare card, making it impossible to see a rare card in your first card reward (except maybe if you have question mark card, in which case you MAY have a 1% chance for the 4th card option to be rare, but I am not THAT well versed with the mechanics). From then, every time you see a common card in a card reward will increase the chances of a card being rare by an additive 1%, subtracting the 1% from common chance unless common chance is already 0, at which point it will subtract from uncommon chance (so if your first card reward screen has 3 commons and no uncommons, the rare chance is up to 1%). Seeing an uncommon card does not effect the chances to see a rare card. Seeing a rare card resets the chance to see rare cards back to -2%. So essentially, the more cards you see without having seen a rare card, the more likely you are to see rare cards. (Note that shops roll using the same percentages, but seeing cards in a shop does not change the percentages, even if you purchase the card)

Honestly the further you get into a STS run the more each fight begins to feel like a math puzzle with all the different relics and powers that come into play on each turn

Personally I think that Snecko eye kind of... ruins most runs? Not all of them - some of them are genuinely cool - but the randomness that gets added to the deck just makes any strategizing ahead more redundant than it should be. Think about it - how many strategies do you come up with when you have to think about how to use your deck optimally, and how many strategies do you come up with when you know that Snecko RNG will make most strategies redundant?
