Yummy I love wild turkey. A friend of ours hunts those. What's even better than his hunts are the way he cooks 'em! Long, slow & some select alcohols. Tasty

Hey Nick, congrats on the bird, man. Need to freeze it up for next Thanksgiving, have a sentimental family feast. I got a question for you, a little off topic. My black & tan is almost 4 yrs old now. I rescued him at 12 months old. Really smart dog, but I have no idea if he was ever trained to hunt. But today on our walk he got real intense sniffing in the grass along the sidewalk, scooting along, pulling me hard, his nose to the ground. Suddenly, after 100 yards, he stopped and looked up across the street, like he was expecting to see something. Nothing. He dragged me another intense 50 yards, then looks up again, and there are 3 deer across the street staring back. He went nuts, baying like a madman, and the deer shot back across the street and were out of there across some backyards like missiles. Question: Could my dog be doing that through instinct alone, or do you think he was trained by somebody before I adopted him? I mean, he is pretty damn accurate and good at it. Thanks for letting me know.
