My girlfriend got struck by this disease right after her final exams. She's only 20 years. It's close to a year now and she's had to live with pain including everyone around her. It was first her left leg and today, she's feeling heaviness and numbness in her right leg and hands also. She's yet to receive treatment for the first time. I hope she recovers. I type this wit so much tears😭

Hi April. First I want to say I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through so much stuff right now. It’s hard to juggle a career with motherhood at the best of times, but throw in a diagnosis of MS and all the crap that it brings takes the stress to another level altogether. I know how you’re feeling, I was diagnosed with MS at 21 and I also had an Optic Neuritis. Back then in the late ‘80’s there was no “medicine” available, you just had steroids for an exacerbation. I’ve been lucky that I’ve only had about five exacerbations in nearly 40 years, but in the last two years things have gone downhill. I’ve gone from RRMS to Secondary Progressive MS and my cognitive function has gone downhill in a big way. I get your “forgetfulness”, that’s become a permanent way of life for me and IT HURTS, because I’ve always had a high IQ and I’m also very independent. It is what it is though and like you said, there are a lot of people out there who have it worse than I do. I try to keep thinking encouraging things but it’s so hard sometimes, especially as I’m on my own now with no family. One thing I wanted to say to you is please do keep up the treatment, that will make a huge difference by stopping the MS and your lesions, which will set you up for a good outcome in the future. There has been huge progress in trying to find a cure and it will definitely happen in your lifetime, so be a good girl and take your medicine, your future self will love you for it. Keep your head up and keep pushing through the pain. You’re a strong person, you got this girl. Take care and much love and hugs to you from Shelley in Australia 🙏👏❤️

I one hundred percent know how you feel. We look normal but in actuality, we are fighting every day to get moving. People ask how are you not feeling well you look fine. Your labs are fine but, were sick. It can change from day to day. One day it's drying your hair sitting on the floor. You can't stand it because the fatigue is terrible. You go shopping and come home it takes hours to put your groceries away. The next you have energy and you do too much and then it hits again. It's hard to explain. I however know that God knows and He will help me. He will be there every step of the way.

It can be such a confusing and challenging thing to navigate. Most days I don’t have the words to really describe how I feel, but God is able and He will lead us as we journey through this! Blessings to you! Thank you for watching!

Hi April! I first want to say, I’m so sorry you have MS. I too have MS. I’ve had MS for 24 years. I was 22 when I too had ocular neuritis, like you described. I too experienced multiple relapses. I feel the need to share this with you. Always remember to give yourself grace. Live in the now and try not to dwell on MS in the future. I’m here to tell you MS has a mind of its own. Listen to your body. My biggest advice is to stay on the best DMT that you feel comfortable taking, because MS is always lurking in the background. Always make a list of symptoms and questions, before seeing your Neurologist. Unfortunately, very few people will ever understand your MS, except others that have it. Always,be your own best advocate. I still struggle to remember that everything is not MS…. Thanks for sharing your diagnosis story. It will be one you tell over and over and that’s okay. Lots of love Mandy

Good evening, I watched your video and was touched and amazed how beautiful you are to share your problem. My daughter was diagnosed 2 months ago with M. S. She has had many puzzling symptoms but was told the first episode was a mild stroke and secondly the next episode was belsy palsy. This has been over a period of a few years. She would fall while walking and severe health. The last episode was 2 months ago and she fell. Very bad problems happened. Flat on her face on the street and black eyes, scraped face, top teeth through bottom lip, boken ribs , broken left wrist and severely damaged knees. They took her to hospital and she has lesions on her brain and spine. She is 60 years old and it took so long to diagnose her. They saw the lesions on her brain during the previous incidents but didn't test further. Now she had to go through 2 rounds of vaccinations and then they will start her on some type of infusions. I cannot go to her because I am scheduled for knee replacement surgery. My huge problem is I live in Canada and she lives in Switzerland. We are so far apart. I hope I'll be able to travel after my surgery heals. This is such a long comment but I wanted to fill you in on the background. How VERY BRAVE YOU ARE TO HELP INFORM OTHER. You are a wonderful inspiration. May God bless you and guide you throughout everything. Thank you for your support to me. Doreen.

You are an Angel. Thank you sharing your story. I’ve watched lots of diagnosis videos since receiving my diagnosis a few months ago and I must say that yours resonates with me the most. Not only because I have similar signs and symptoms (inflamed, swollen optic nerve, went to a neuro- optomologist , electric shocks, etc.) but also because I haven’t seen a lot of stories from people that look like us. Sending you so much love, healing and clarity on your journey and I pray that you are feeling okay. ❤

My fiancé was just diagnosed last week with MS and it’s definitely taken a mental toll on him. Physically right now he is fine just recovering from the double vision on the left eye but it’s more of the mental aspect that right now has been hard on him he’s only 32 and is worried about how this will affect him when we do plan to have a family. He starts treatment Sunday. Right now I’m just trying to learn more about MS and how to better support him through these season he is going through. Thank you for sharing your story with MS it’s been insightful and gives me hope for my partner. Wishing you all the best in your journey with MS and every other aspect of your life ❤

Bless you, my dear! I found you looking for other MS stories. I was diagnosed a few weeks ago after 10 month long journey of fear of confusion. It's called a snowflake disease because it's different for everyone. I would encourage getting on a disease modifying therapy because I just found out at 51 but they suspect I've had it for decades. Mine hid behide several diseases I have. If I had started earlier maybe I would not fall as much as I do. Maybe I could still drive(i cannot focus enough and my proprioception is off). Maybe I could carry my grandsons around. I'm starting a dmt - zeposia as soon as they finish all my bloodwork and such. There is a neurologist- Aaron Boster that has a yt channel. He has great info!!! Sorry if this is scattered, commenting while at work. Best of all to you, and look forward to fighting with you!!!

Thank you for sharing 🤗 l’m a fellow 27yo black girl patient, from France who would love other videos on the subject 😊. If I may, are you on a particular diet ? On top of the meds I mean. Also, treatment, exercise (notably cardio), good diet (Mediterranean or MIND diet, a variant), intermittent fasting, meditation/stress relief techniques and good sleep is what I’ve read can help (to help prevent relapses, or improve remyelination). Maybe they’ll find a cure some day, so much progress has been done. Have a great day on your side of the globe ! Je t’envoie plein de bonnes ondes 😊
