I'm one of Sandara's fans way back Star Circle Quest. I still remember her audition. We watched that show everyday. She really did capture the heart of Filipinos. She's part of my childhood and I am thankful for that!

I still remember Sandara’s audition in Star Circle Quest. I instantly became a fan, like most of the Filipinos watching the show. Her line, “Mahal ko kayo” while crying will always be iconic. At that time, Filipinos were not that fascinated with K-pop and K-dramas yet (this was a year after the meteoric rise of Meteor Garden in the Philippines, hence, the winner of the show who has an uncanny resemblance to one of the F4 had a huge following and eventually won the show). What I wanted to say was that Dara won our hearts because aside from how adorable she is, we appreciated the fact that despite living in a country completely foreign to her, it was evident that she embraced and loved the Philippines as if she were our own. Dara will always be loved. Mahal ka namin. ❤️

just finished watching this 5 part docu series of Sandara, very nostalgic 😍 Filipinos love her so much coz she is so adorable and genuine that even though she can't give it all due to language barrier, yet you can still see on her eyes that she is doing her best. Her decision to transition her career to Korea was a very good choice, coz her popularity declined when Kim Chui came in especially that her love team to real-life boyfriend joseph didn't make it big compared to hero. the attention of the filipinos turned to kim (another singkit which filipinos were fond of during those days coz of meteor garden fever) plus her love-team with Gerald. So glad that she was able to make it not just in Korea but as an international Idol. Until now Filipinos still love Sandara, she will always be our "Pambansang Krong-Krong" who loves to say " Mahal ko kayo" with ✋!
