- Zuma came to Korea from Tanzania, half way around the globe. He worked in a Korean nonprofit government organization there. He was in a medical team in charge of child treatment. How is his life in Korea?

I agree! Maybe his medical degree isn’t valid in Korea? How long would it take him to become a doctor and do the same work that he used to do? I would SO want him as my doctor! He’s such a cutie and so is his wife!

To be a doctor in South Korea, you need to speak fluent Korean, and you have to pass the national medical exam which is very hard to pass even for native speakers. After all, doctors need to communicate with their patients, and if you don't speak Korean, then it's pretty hard to become a doctor in Korea.

So, they hesitated to give him a job just because he is black. Being black makes one looks like someone stupid, unrefined and stubborn. It really hurts. He is there in Korea for his wife. He could live in Tanzania and yet he would have a good life. Blackness is surrounded with all sorts of negative stereotypes

I love that the wife is very cool about having black husband in Korea. I understand that it must be hard sometimes in the (used to be) monocultural and racist country like Korea, and they mentioned it a bit. But the wife does not make big deal about it, and treat him as if he’s “normal” Korean husband. That will help him acclimate better I believe 🤞

Racism is so big in Korea but no one talks about it. Not even just with black people but other races. Even other Asians like Philippinos and Chinese. I'm glad they at least addressed teensy bit here. I'm glad he has somebody like her for his wife. She's so sweet & bright. They compliment each other well.

I am in love with this special. It's so refreshing to see Korean people embrace him as their own and play with him and not be scared. I'm sure he probably still does face these challenges but it shows how the korean people have grown to accept different cultures and not just white people

OMG they are so cute I love their dynamic! Like her cute way of nagging him about taking to long in the store and him telling her all chickens aren't the same and about his shoes. They're so cute together and obviously love each other
