Keep up the good work. At 28 you are way ahead of the game than most. I was 40 and had 20k in CC debt. I finally woke up and now at 53 I have a paid off house, zero payments other than taxes and insurance and a 900k net worth including my house. Only thing I would suggest is to be more serious about payments even 0% deals, car loans etc. Payments are a drain on wealth building.

Thanks for sharing your financial journey! It's inspiring to see how you've managed your finances at 28, from building an emergency fund to tackling student loans. Keep up the great work!

Thank you! It’s reassuring to know that I’m on the right path and I’m also just trying to show that everyone is in different positions in life but it’s never too late to start learning and focusing on finances!

You're doing a great job. I likely wouldn't include the 8k since you'll be paying for that shortly & that'll show a big reduction. Also you stated a lot about what others said. Don't focus on them. If you have a plan to pay off the CC & student loan, continue to execute on your plan. Don't adjust based on others' opinions.

I would suggest u talk to someone who has had experience with investing in their lives like an older, wealthy relative. U obviously have thought things out (which is great for a person ur age), but maybe ur sense of direction needs a bit of guidance. Just the same, thank u for sharing. 👍

Keep going and ignore the negative comments. Personal finance is personal. I became financially free in my own way, not by following others.

Thanks! I do tend to get more positive comments than negative! But I’m just doing my best 😊

@@allisonmccarthy57 treat a positive comment like someone gave you a $100 note [cash] and treat a negative comment like a 5 cent ($0.05) fine that you have to pay, people give negative comments way too much weight than they deserve and de-value and dont appreciate enough a positive comment

Buying a house is a dumb idea. If Covid19 taught us one thing it's you want to be mobile and be able to get around to a better location where things haven't gone to shit. Buying a house is a luxury purchase if you already have a good income and hundred of thousands if not millions of dollars saved/invested. Even then it's still a bad idea, but much more justifiable. That's my opinion at least.

Saving for house, saving for wedding, trying to pay off debt, spreading yourself thin IMO

agreed IMO. Especially on a fixed income.

The wedding is next month & she and her fiance were saving for it. So she's essentially only saving for a house and paying down debt. She's also saving for the house with her fiance. I save/invest and pay down my low interest debt all the time. I see big movements in both accounts.
