Got a little updating to do.. also my fav lock.. check out the Brownlock on the FSD & FSD Mini... same deal... it's actually a Mod lefty compression lock. That's how they came about I heard.

Got the new Racoon yesterday. Phenomenal knife, instant favorite. OOTB absolutely rock solid, perfect action. For me, this lock makes all the others seem archaic.

I agree and think this "top lock" type of system is going to be a new favorite. For those who just wants a strong lockup with no added springs or other mechanisms to fail/wear, I think this is a good replacement to the button lock.

I wish Vosteed would stop making all their premium knives right hand only. We like fancy knives too! And I think it’s pretty clear that most righties aren’t bothered by a little filler tab on their show side - especially if you use it as an excuse to show off your milling prowess with a filler tab like on the Kizer Varatas!

Top liner lock is definitely my jam

I have no history of prediction at all... but I did call this one. Last year's Knife Show Atlanta I saw this lock and said, this could be big.

Evidence that Spyderco only knows what they're doing as far as drilling circles in blades and heat treating. 😆 Just sat on making their compression lock the perfect button lock for years. Made the Smock, never bothered to improve its detent or even use the existing lock design further.

Decided to return my raccoon. Between the rattle sound and terrible detent lash, I figured it wasn't smart to keep. Hope you get a look at the psyop soon!

I’m so intrigued by these… Instead of the Kizer rattle it’s got the Vosteed rattle.

I have a question for you Lefty, you said you are bothered by "unbalanced" blade to handle ratio but what about blade to cutting age ratio? As you said you have the constrain of the lock mechanism but the amount lost on these knives is huge (except for the raccoon). It looks even worth (imo no judgement) on the Psyop. It looks like a knife with 1/3 blade 2/3 handle even if the ratio is normal. If they can do it on the raccoon why not the other? Thanks for the video have a nice day!
